How to get all VSTs running on new PC
Promidi replied to G Randy Brown's topic in Instruments & Effects
Updating to Windows 11 would be less painful than replacing entirely new hardware. Simply take a backup (preferably image) , then upgrade. Personally I would deactivate any iLok products pre upgrade. Then reactivate post upgrade. -
IK Multimedia Sampletank 4 Update - and a personal note
Promidi replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
Your next more would be to locate your “ST4_AcPiano_Samples_Part_6.zip” file (That you’ve hopefully backed up somewhere) On option is to extract the files therein to a folder. Then run the “Install SampleTank 4 Sound Content.exe” ,making sure you select the correct destination (The error message should give you the clue here). Another option is this. In the zip file, there is the folder “SampleTank 4 Sound Content”. Drill down to the folder until eventually you’ll get to the actual “C Grand Close Mics Sustain 1.pak.” file. Manually copy that file to the location specified in the error message. Then open up ST4 and do a database scan (Settings | Sound Content > Rescan All) I have been using Sampletank for quite a while now and I have yet to encounter missing sounds. -
IK Multimedia Sampletank 4 Update - and a personal note
Promidi replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
With all iterations of ST4, Sampletank has always been able to find all C7 Close Mic'd presets. I went from 4.13, to 4.15 then to 4.16 (I intentionally skipped 4.14) Still, the update is still recommend for other reasons. If the 4.16 update does not resolve the issue, is the "C Grand Close Mics Sustain 1.pak” file actually present in the folder specified in the error message? On my system, this specific file is exactly 3.28 GB (3,525,319,061 bytes) -
I might be wrong on this, but I think this happens when there is an update to the library. Yes, it should appear under updates, but I seem to remember a version number in the actual LABS file structure incrementing upon installing a currently installed LABS library.

ST4.16. Just loaded C7 Grand Close Mic. All good here. Have you tried reinstalling ST4_AcPiano_Samples_Part_6.zip. This is the exact file that contains the C “Grand Close Mics Sustain 1.pak” file. This is on Sampletank 4 Max. -
And so did the space on my hard drive....

IK Multimedia Sampletank 4 Update - and a personal note
Promidi replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
For Shipwreck Piano, it specifically states that it requires 4.14 or above. Do you happen to remember which version of Sampletank 4 you had when Shipwreck Piano produced silence? For a while, due to another issue (which I did report to IK support and they acknowledged) with some patches , I had to stick with 4.13 until that issue was resolved. Once 4.15 came out and I updated, I was able to use the later libraries (Shipwreck Piano being one of them). -
I a willing to take that risk. I know the workaround so far. I have asked Cakewalk support if the subject of dropping support for CAL scripts has ever been discussed in their development meetings so far. It hasn't.

Another option is to Select All (of a track or the entire project). Then go to the Menu item: Edit | Select | By Filter > Select “None”. Then select Notes, then OK. Now when you Copy, only notes will be copied.

All my MIDI only projects are CbB. The CAL scripts and Studioware panels I have written makes Cakewalk the only choice. I would be lost if Cakewalk ever dropped CAL scripts and Studioware. They speed up my workflow immensely.

In preferences | Audio | Configuration File try adjusting the following: EnableSetThreadIdealProcessor = False MixThreadCount = {number of cores minus 1} You might like to exit Cakewalk by Bandlab, go to the following folder and make a copy of the AUD.INI file before doing this: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core

Keyboard MIDI controller sound delay
Promidi replied to Peter Lockwood's topic in Instruments & Effects
A couple of questions: What audio interface are you using? What driver mode are you using? What is the name of the VSTi you are you using? ASIO is preferred. This is checked with Preferences | Audio | Playback and Recording. My PC is configured as per my signature and I can play VSTis in real-time with out any undesirable delay between key-press and note output. -
Usually for “under the bonnet” changes, enhances, bug fixes, optimisations, etc....

Native Access Download Failed Unknown Error
Promidi replied to AndyB01's topic in Instruments & Effects
I just thought I would mention that the MS Visual C++ runtimes are not included in the regular Windows updates. These have to be updated manually. When you get the error message, is it the installation of the Native access itself that manifests the error message or is it the installation of an NI product itself. If it’s the latter, then one thing you could try is head over to start + run > appwiz.cpl and uninstall the offending application. Once that is done, then attempt the install of same application through Native Access. -
Maybe spray a tiny bit of contact cleaner in the pitch controller wheel (definitely not oil based! Not WD40!)

Native Access Download Failed Unknown Error
Promidi replied to AndyB01's topic in Instruments & Effects
Just used Native Access to download and install FM8. No problems here (PC configured as per signature) This has to be an issue at your end. Try updating your network drivers. Restart your router Try using a wired connection between your PC and your router (ethernet) Is your Windows fully patched Try updating your Vdist runtimes See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads -
We need more info.. Is this a MIDI project or an audio (or a combination)?
-
I updated to Sampletank 4.16 mid project (risky I know, but I have backups) that has 3 instances of Sampletank 4 (each with a few instruments therein) and I did not experience any crashing or anything like that. It just worked. This is on a PC configured as per my signature.

Sampletank 4 updated to 4.16 Syntronik 2 updated to 2.01 Update via IK Multimedia Product Manager.
-
Or you can freeze the SIT (that has MIDI data in it ) and then drag the resultant audio to an audio track.
-
And one other thing I like about it is that there is an ASIO plugin for it to enable ASIO support inside ORBS Studio.

The bandlab hangs for about a minute or half a minute
Promidi replied to Osman Hemidov's question in Q&A
Maybe try renaming your aud.ini file then starting Cakewalk (It will be rebuilt) This file is located here: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core I am assuming that you have visually confirmed that you are running the latest graphic drivers. Check the drivers visually using manufacturer's websites rather than via Windows updates. -
As you probably know, MIDI is simply data that tells a synthesiser what notes notes to play and what not. Cakewalk can simply open the MIDI files from File | Open. Use this method as this contains tempo information that's in the MIDI file. Importing the MIDI file does not. If you do not have a MIDI port on your PC, Cakewalk should open the MIDI file with the MIDI tracks routed to TTS-1 If you do have a MIDI port on your PC, then your MIDI tracks will be routed to that port. It appears that when you open your MIDI files, the MIDI tracks are not routed to anything, hence the silence when you play back. What you need to do is make sure your MIDI tracks are routed to something that makes a sound, be it a hardware synth connected to a MIDI port on your PC, or a software synth (or VSTi) I did a quick search on YouTube and I believe this video might get you started:

The bandlab hangs for about a minute or half a minute
Promidi replied to Osman Hemidov's question in Q&A
Something has changed. Do you have any 32bit plugins or an plugins tat might have gone into demo mode? What happens if you open the project in Safe mode (Open the project while holding shift) and deselect plugins? Maybe reinstall your Audio interface drivers. Update your graphic drivers. -
You can already do this using Task Queues. Task Queues are saved with your project.
