  1. Enjoy! It should keep you busy for a while!
  2. BlueARP is the bundled (with permission) arpeggiator used by PluginGuru in the commercial plugin Unify. Adds a lot to the layered patches in Unify. https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=bluearp
  3. I'm saving Kavinsky, Strawberry Fields, and Stardust for the next round! I think that Floyd, JMJ, Tangerine Dream, and Vangelis had the overall biggest influence on my early interest in electronic music. However my initial interest in synths was sparked by the first time I ever heard "Switched-On Bach" performed on a Moog synth by Wendy (Walter) Carlos. I was hooked forever!
  4. I grabbed this freebie recently based on this write-up from the BPB Newsletter: https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2022/01/23/abstract-crystal-pads/ Since it comes in multiple formats, I grabbed the plugin, The Kontakt (full) version, and the sample pack. The light disk footprint is measured in MB's not GB's, and sounds good!
  5. I noticed that a few were done by Nori for both companies. I doubt they are the same, but some are probably close. I have the SynthMaster Everything bundle. My preference would still be to get them from Arturia anyway, since I have the full V Collection. It would be cool to see how he set up the actual controls on a model of the original synth front panel vs. with how it is done in SynthMaster with waveform samples in the oscillator and generic SynthMaster controls for filter, LFO, mod matrix, etc.
  6. FYI, I wasn't actually referring to the 11.1 update. I was linking to the Ableton page for improving computer performance on ALL Live versions...
  7. Hey man, I do wish you luck! Have no other ideas... and can't imagine why it's just Ableton being a troublemaker on yours. That's really weird! ? I have observed in general that laptops are known to make notorious compromises when it comes to their form factor, when compared with desktops, especially for demanding real-time applications like DAWs. I don't mean to bash laptops, as I have owned several. But all consumer laptops are specifically designed to fit components into a very tight space with little ventilation, conserve power to maximize battery life, and use a lower power version of the CPU (mobile ) to minimize heat output. Plus some BIOS options to adjust performance parameters are typically hidden from the end user. Those compromises can pose additional challenges to the already thorny path for setting up a high performance DAW!
  8. Added today: Air Tribute, JMJ Tribute, Tangerine Tribute, Tears Tribute, Vangelis Tribute, & Vangelis Tribute II. $25.94 total. Don't forget that you install sound banks from Analog Lab, and not the Arturia Software Manager. Click on the store link in the left pane, and then check "Owned" on the store page in Analog Lab. You will see a download icon on the sound bank image for those that that you have not installed yet. Just click on that icon to download it!
  9. I looked at the Ableton Forum, and it seemed that the majority of the recent (past 2 years) complaints for fan noise were made by Macbook Pro users.
  10. +1 for the Floyd Tribute Bank (for Modular and Solina), Floyd Tribute Bank II (for B-3, Mini, Solina, & Synthi) and the Synthwave 2085 (for Pigments).
  11. That's why I went the extra step and minimized my fan speeds, until critical temps are reached. Which is almost never, unless all cores are running at 100%. Plenty of ambient ventilation in my large full tower case. Slow fans generally keep the air flowing for me. Those fans constantly speeding up and slowing down was driving me crazy also! ?
  12. Ableton > Using Live > Graphics and Computer Performance > Reducing the CPU load https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209071269-Reducing-the-CPU-load
  13. Well I suppose that you could always switch AD to use the GM map. There's one for that I think.
  14. That means it is likely redlining your CPU, and your computer is trying to stay cool under load. Not seeing that issue here with a desktop PC, using a full tower case and a couple of good case fans for cross-ventilation. I also went into my BIOS and tuned the fans for lower RPM, until the CPU temp reaches a higher threshold (below core meltdown, of course). Intel Core i-5, 6 cores @3.7 GHz base, turbo to 4.6 GHz, ASUS Prime Z390-A, 16GB DDR4 memory, Samsung EVO 860, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6.
  15. I have to give +1 to both Ample Sound and Indiginus for their virtual acoustic instruments! I have the Ample Upright Bass. Best acoustic bass sound that I have heard in a VST! It goes on sale once or twice a year. I got it on sale for $119 at Best Service last August. https://www.bestservice.com/ample_sound.html I also went out to Indiginus to pick up The Resonator, and ended up getting The Fiddle and The Steel too! Tracy at Indiginus sells them cheap enough as full Kontakt instruments only, so if you have full Kontakt, his instruments are a no brainer! Hopefully my next one from Indiginus will be the Renegade Acoustic, $69 (full Kontakt). https://www.indiginus.com/renegade-acoustic-guitar
  16. It's good that it doesn't auto update, and that you can run 2 versions of Live side by side! There is also a warning that if you save a set (project) in the latest version, you won't be able to open it again in the previous version. So until you know that you are all in with the update, it is best to save a copy of any existing sets to test in the new version!
  17. Well if you raise the bar to $10, there is plenty of junk for your trunk at PIB this month! See the other thread here about the PIB anniversary sale!
  18. Well, the only time that I feel compelled to have a portable license system, is with plugins with only one install per license. For iZotope that would be limited to the Exponential Audio reverbs. But since I now have two copies of the Nimbus and R4 reverbs, that's no longer an issue with iZotope for me. Their other products allow me to install and activate on both my desktop and laptop. I do understand your point about portability though, as my Waves plugins and their silly 1-seat rule (without WUP) prompted me to go with their USB flash drive license plan. Just need to remember to take it with when I'm away!
  19. Is it NFR? Already have Analog Lab V. Wish there was another option...
  20. The video is quite informative and explains how you can mute the internal drum sounds, and just send the MT Power Drum MIDI out to other drum VST's in your DAW. There are even drum map files available to translate to several other brands of drum plugins.
