I'll do that. For Ableton racks I can also recommend F9 Audio. You probably already know them, but if you don't, have a look.

Nice, thank you I just realized that they have a huge selection of taster-packs: https://modeaudio.com/free-taster-sound-packs It's tedious to download them all manually, but with an extension like DownThemAll! it's just one click.

Thanks, @ralfrobert and @PavlovsCat I bought it now and after a first quick look I think that was a good decision. Some really nice sounds in there. Crazy what you can get for $10 sometimes.

That sounds like a great offer. I have no experience with Puremagnetic though. Are their products good?

Am I the only one who doesn't like Cube Mini that much? I got it for free from PB, gave it a few tries, but it never clicked with me.

I expect it to come with factory presets, just like all other players. Maybe a little less presets than the full version. If he's already working on a first patch pack then I see that as an indicator that I might be right with the assumption that the main goal of the player is to sell additional soundbanks. In fact, as I think about it, I can't think of any player version that you can't get for free, except for Synthmaster Player which is often available for less than $10 and free only occasionally. Do you know any plugin player version that never sells for less than $10?
-
If you look at other vendors you'll see that player versions often are sold around $10 or even free, even for sophisticated synths like Analog Lab or Synthmaster or AAS products. In the end the developer probably doesn't have to program that much new stuff for the player version, just remove the interface for tweaking the sounds. I believe players often are free or sold cheap to get people to buy soundbanks or to get them hooked, so that they might upgrade to the real thing.

Nice. I tried the demo of Hyperion and really liked some of the sounds but find the patch editor quite daunting, so a player version would be just right for me. I wonder how much it will cost. I could have bought the full version for $22.50 at JRR shop, so I'd probably only buy the player for about half that price. I read on that discord channel that he already presented it on the NAMM in April, so I think and hope that it won't take too long until it gets released.

I just bought it. There are lots of really nice presets inside. And the collection seems quite versatile, useful for many different genres.

I can't find any information about it on the internet. And isn't it "Hydro"? Looks like Hydro on the screenshot.

I think it's okay. A bit like Captain Plugins with the difference that you have all tracks inside one plugin rather than having to jump between Captain Chords, Captain Melody and Captain Deep. But with Captain Plugins I got better results, have more control and it can generate its own sound, with some presets using the Phase Plant engine. Plus Captain Plugins also comes with Captain Beat which is an awesome beat machine. My biggest issue with Instacomposer is that it requires a DAW that supports multi-MIDI-channel output. Ableton Live doesn't, so as an Ableton Live user I have to use a hack to route each track from Instacomposer to an individual Ableton Live MIDI track. I hoped that they'd find a workaround for that in version 2, like they did with Loop Engine, but unfortunately it doesn't seem so.

W.A. Production have released version 2 of Instacomposer. For the next 28 days (and 5 hours) you can get it for € 30,14 instead of € 100,46. Or for the upgrade price of € 9,22 if you already own Instacomposer 1. https://www.waproduction.com/plugins/view/instacomposer-2

That's right. They should make it more obvious that this is a monthly fee. The normal way to indicate this would be to display the price like $12.99/mo

Oh yes, I hate it when shops do that. Same on Function Loops. Why? Just why do people do that?!
-
Why awkward?
-
4.68GB even! ? I'm starting to think that Soundpaint/8Dio are just a side-business of Western Digital to sell external hard drives.
-
You can still get it cheaper on KnobCloud though. I got it for 38€.

Is someone abusing the system again? ?

Nice. Now I need a strategy how to get hundreds of people to use my code. ?

I'm not very familiar with Melda. Can a referral code be used more than once?

@Andrew Aversa thank you very much for taking the time to shed some light on the financial intricacies of running an audio software business. That was very insightful. I appreciate that you don't inflate your prices to make sales look more attractive, unlike many of your competitors. Your price policy sounds reasonable. You're on my good guys list.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with your company. Once again I'm stunned to find out that one of the companies that I consider to be a big player in the music industry turns out to be a small business. In defense of this community I must say that giving people a generic 80% discount for all newsletter-unsubscribers was a desaster waiting to happen. One can't expect such a thing to remain a secret for very long. If it hadn't happened here, it would have happened elsewhere sooner or later. But I did in fact keep myself from posting it on mydealz.de as I imagined that it could be harmful to your business. Hopefully, on the bright side, you might have gotten some money from people who would normally never have spent money on your shop, like me (I don't earn money with music, I just do it for fun and my budget is quite limited). I wish you all the best. May the shock settle quickly, the financial damage not be too bad and your remaining vacation nice and enjoyable.

Plugin Alliance prices go up and down like the old Windows "remaining time" estimation. Windows: "Copying 50,363 files. Remaining time: 5 hours. No, 30 seconds. No, 10 minutes. No, wait, 10 years. Done.". Plugin Alliance: "AMEK EQ 200. Price: $399. No, $49. No, $29.99. No, $199. Here, you can have it for free". Sooner or later you can probably get every plugin from them for 29 or less. Imagine being one of those poor souls who've paid the full price for any of their plugins I wonder if that ever happens.
