I did exactly that, on sale of course. Plus u-he and TAL. It was not too expensive compared to my unstructured purchases on the carnival ground of the plugin industry. Add Komplete, and you are 100% covered and have very manageable cost structures. Also, everyone should try to earn the money for the plugins solely by making music. This can be very irritating, I tell you.

I think the moment things turned around for me was when I started thinking of the software as a craftsman's tools, not shiny lifestyle products. It helped a lot to watch Mixing with Mike, particularly the older videos. He just uses Waves all the time, because he knows the plugins in and out and is used to reach for them. Just a matter of thinking. The DAW environment is a workbench, not a plugin exhibition for hipsters.

I reached a state of plugin saturation about a year ago, then started to sell off and consolidate. Mainly Fabfilter and u-he now and a few more brands. Things have slowed down, and higher prices and the same income are a factor. I like it this way and get more stuff done.

Many great Melda deals in the last months. I can highly recommend their ecosystem.

This was also my impression, but it has some nice small tweaks, ie. stretching automation with MIDI. I will try it out and see if everyday work gets easier. And as far as I am concerned, I think I don't use more than 30% of what S1 can do.

Seems to make sense if you need a kick designer. Please also take a look at Kick 2 which is my favourite. And Punchbox. And the two Rob Papen synths for kicks. And keep it mind kicks can also be layered in the DAW or generated in every all-round synth. Knowledge and workflow are the kings here. A shiny new product may be unnecessary.

You are forgiven. I only have Ren Bundle from Waves, but always wanted to give the channel strip a try. It seems to be very feature rich and complete. Any more opinions? Please talk me out of it.

I got ANA 2.5 a few weeks ago second hand for a very good price. I know, it may be inferior to Vengeance and this kind of monster synth, but it has given me nothing but happiness until now.

Understood. But lots of things I heard about the product just make it a no-go for me.

TAL synths are another option when on sale and bundled. Not too many presets, but excellent sound.
