  1. And every year, I look forward to listening to it again. Now it's officially Christmas. Cheers Gary 🌲
  2. The answer rather depends to whom and how you choose to distribute your files. Many special characters can be incorrectly parsed by browsers, so as a general rule I would say that if sharing content online, special characters are best avoided. That said - for local and personal file storage - you'll encounter fewer problems if you include them as part of your chosen file naming convention but it's still considered bad practice to use them. Andy
  3. I've written more than a few technical guides in my time - kudos to the team that put this together. 👏 👏 👏 👏 Andy
  4. Oh this is one of my favourite Beatles tracks - you did a cracking job with this Steve. Andy
  5. Ah well, if we're talking Chopin, I'll raise you with this: Chanson de l'adieu but Nocturne is also a beautiful piece - we share excellent taste. 🙂 Andy
  6. Can't disagree with the choice of Bridge Over Troubled Water but my top choice would be She's Always A Woman by Billy Joel. Every time I hear it played, I just have to stop and listen to remind myself what a work of sheer genius it is. Andy
  7. The level of spam on this forum is not especially significant, the filters and mods do a pretty good job. It takes me a few seconds to report a spam post - which I typically do a couple of times a month, at most. There's always a trade off between the effort and cost required to make a site 'spam-proof' (assuming that's even possible) and a level of spam that is considered tolerable.. As @Wookiee observed - the mods do have a life outside of this forum and don't spend all their spare time on here hunting out rogue posts. We can all help by reporting swiftly when we see any - as has already been pointed out. Andy
  8. Beautiful Daryl Season's Greetings to you and yours. Andy

    Slow Down

Inventive use of EzKeys - I'm currently trying to do more of this (writing my own chord progressions and then applying EzKeys grooves using the replace midi function) - instead of just writing lyrics for the built-in grooves written and played by someone else - although that's been fun to do (and it worked out pretty well for Bernie Taupin). 😉😂. I'm finding Scaler pretty good for developing chord progressions I wouldn't have necessarily thought of. Nice work. Andy
  10. Just updated today - I'm not experiencing this issue which is by no means conclusive, but suggests it may be something other than just the the patch which is causing your issue. Andy
  11. I guess if you are a bit more demanding of your organ VST then there's always Organteq. However at €269, you have to be considerably more discerning than I am. For the absolute diehard - the husband of a friend of mine swears by Hauptwerk - a sniff at just $599 for a perp licence and add-on pack prices to melt your credit card. 😂😂 Andy
  12. I got it cheap a few years back, I don't use it that much but it does make some pretty good sounds and I love having a play with it. Definitely a 'nice to have' rather than a 'must buy' in my book. Andy
  13. The only time I got good results mic'ing an acoustic was using a pair of pencil SDC mics in an XY config (I used some cheap Behringer mics that did a surprisingly good job), but I often just DI for ease. There is a video I used as a reference here that might be of use: Don't be put off by the beginner in the title - it taught me a few tricks and I've playing guitar over 50 years! 😂 Andy
  14. Cheers @DeeringAmps I assumed it would include this but did not want to presume, just in case. Yes I did immediately think of those who have signed up at full price - bit of a kicker that if the discount is significant and can't be added to run concurrently from the end of an existing sub - that would be fairer. What do they call that kind of marketing - oh yes - 'brand new customers only' (doesn't exactly help win loyalty). Andy
  15. I thought I detected a few timing issues early on but could be the FX. That section at 00:50 reminded me of really early Genesis (Trespass and Ant Phillips kind of early). Did I detect a 12-string as well - sounded real sweet. I think you're onto something with this one - nice job. Andy
  16. Very good, both video and song. Good concept, well executed. Andy
  17. Lovely song - the vocal shines beautifully - another vote to up the guitar level and apply a HP filter but, for me, that really didn't detract from a very enjoyable listen. Great work 👍 Andy
  18. Enjoyed this - great use of crescendo and decay. Andy
  19. I just received something of a teaser on the Bandlab app. Not sure if this includes Sonar - I guess wait and see. 🤷‍♂️ Andy
  20. Good points @garybrun I've also used CW in many versions for donkey's years. I'm not especially happy with the sub model, but it is what is and probably represents the future of software ownership - however I have not subscribed yet. Like you, I have S1 Pro (v5) but I have definitely not mastered it in the way I know CW products. I understand Mike's position - it's a commercial decision based on a need for certainty, and I get it that PC platforms and Sonar are not providing him with that. At some point next year I'll replace my ancient Windows laptop (it will definitely not be a Mac) and at that point I'll either get a Sonar subscription or I'll switch horses to an upgraded S1 Pro. But until then, I'll carry on with CWbBL for as long as it works. Andy
  21. Great stuff - very enjoyable listen. Andy
  22. Agree with comments above on the mix, I really like the ritardando on the chorus - just enough to throw you for a second or two - great vocal work and keys. Just sort the respective levels and you should be thereabouts. Nice work. Andy

    JV Drone

Love the cymbals - definitely has a dark cinematic vibe - both ethereal and industrial at the same time. If I'm allowed one suggestion - I'd have had the ending just come to a dead stop at around 5:13 and just leave the bell chime to decay naturally. 👍 Andy
  24. Tusk - Fleetwood Mac 😉 I'll see myself out... Andy
