FIRST is a reverb library consisting of 30 IRs and 30 presets for rematrix. In DrShelder post there are issues with them not working after they are loaded in, same for me. So there is something not working right with these at the moment.

I just watched a good video that mentioned the clips follow selection setting so engaged it. Always more to learn with this amazing beast of a program. Yeah I cant explain the times its ok from when its not blobbing. PS. Thanks for your PS. I had the hottest most unbearable late spring - summer plus (it actually just started to be winter now all of a sudden) so it was difficult to work on music with air conditioners and fans blasting month after month. I have a few songs done and will post very soon, but during this record breaking heat time I didnt feel like I could listen well to other peoples work on the song forum and thats part of what I like to do there. Took the time to learn some stuff, made my first song video (named Vertigogo), couldnt sing, just rough times!

Thanks Terry, I thought it was discussed on here before and I will remember to try your solution. I often set a loop in the cakewalk timeline where I want melodyne to focus when it opens and believe even when I am in the right place in the timeline the blobs are sometimes missing.

Yes I often have no blobs in melodyne. Then I close it and reopen it blobs are there. I think it’s been brought up before on the forum.

I uninstalled both after I saw it would be running all the time

It was confusing but I eventually made an account then downloaded the asap file that contains the free spectral remix and spectral clipping that work fully and some others that are in demo mode. I am interested in the spectral remix to see if it works like the sonible entropy vst. I also saw a page with many free things but haven’t had a chance to explore that page yet.

I was just in my Native Access for something else, and noticed an update for Kontakt Factory Selection 2 , ver 1.2.0, 9/23/24 8.60 GB and from past experience have learned to read the release notes and it says this... Minimum version required is Kontakt 8 I dont have Kontakt 8 and may or may not be getting it, so I guess this means if I install this update I have no Kontakt 8 to use it in. So I wont be downloading this update. Like when a recent update for Analog Dreams had the minimum required version is Kontakt 7.6, so it no longer works in my full Kontakt 6 where it originated from in my purchases. I read I can get and download a version that will work in 6 again, but I have 7 player and it works in there so its ok in this case. I think I am understanding this correctly, if not let me know ! I tried it in my kontakt 7 player and it works.

I had messed around with the eq features before but didn’t really get it, so the video examples helped me to see the different ways it can be useful. Always more to learn about melodyne.

It might be more than you want to do, but izotope rx has free trial for its rx products that can fix or clean up many things. That’s what I would reach for, I have an older version.

I think in the clip inspector there is an option to change the clip color

I think the first control v may put a copy of the note on top of the original. So I have the habit of doing the copy followed by control v twice. I don’t think it’s normal but how it works for me too.

I use melodyne studio all the time on instrument tracks as well as vocals. It’s been interesting because I would’ve assumed synths are on pitch, sometimes I find they are better after I fix them in melodyne. I have fixed bass and guitar notes too, made up new bass and guitar phrases, stretched notes on like an ending note of a song. I have fixed drum track timing that needed it. I use the make notes louder or quieter quite a bit to level vs compression. It’s great to experiment and try new things like looking for harmonies. Using the formant tool can change a sound quite a bit. You can deess of course, but can also fade the beginning or end of a note. It’s great for fixing things but also a creative tool.
