From what John (who knows his stuff) says melodyne is only included for a month. It is an amazing program worth having ! Re. replacing drum sounds...Looking at your drum track in the image, it looks pretty simple, maybe mostly kick and snare? If you dont like the drum replacer sounds, you could find a kick or snare sample you like to use and cut and paste a match on a new track to match your drum phrase if its very basic, matching the notes positions, then groove loop or paste the measure or measures thru the entire new track. I have done this before, its not too bad if simple and the drum notes are on beats.

Sometimes when using melodyne as a region fx, it will process the audio but nothing will show up in it. When that happens, i close the melodyne window and click on the clip and melodyne will open again with the blobs showing, hopefully. Maybe dragging to a midi track might similarly result in an empty melodyne? I've also had to use different algorithms to get a result like melodic vs percussive on occasion.

yes! if i set a loop region in melodyne, the project freezes. if i set the loop region in cakewalks timeline no issues. ive been having some wierd stuff vst happening lately and figured it was just me after updating to latest cakewalk. i am using latest cakewalk and melodyne studio 5. So i only use the cakewalk timeline to work around this.

just some guesses - try turning up the sidechain level increasingly and see if the yellow line shows up. In the video he turns it up to see it better. Also try adjusting the masked and clear to the bury side and see if the delta moves. The cleanup to left i think focuses more on low end like your bass/ kick.

Well I wont change the subject to solved just yet, but after re-running the redistributables in Noels post, then I got a reply from addictive drums with instructions to turn off defender, uncheck a box called controlled folder access in security settings, delete certain addictive drums files, and then download the installer again with defender off, then I reinstalled addictive drums and it worked normally. ? I think I had downloaded melodyne last night and reinstalled it, but it didnt work right, but today after the addictive drums changes it did. Beyond me. So now melodic algo works right, I can edit/cut notes, they are where they should be instead of all in one long blob, I can enter note assignment mode normally. All seems well. My internet is currently at 40 kb sec which is crazy. Anyways, I will be seeing how this goes, and learning from the helpful posts. Thanks to everyone for the informative comments !

Thanks John just starting my day so will look into those you posted asap! I dont know much about any of them so my learning curve has to be awake ha. Maybe wont know what the findings mean ? I started off by a clean install of latest cake, as you said in one of your posts no need any longer to have so many older versions around. My internet is at 227 kbs at the moment so downloads can be challenging! Thanks again

Ty Lynn, im sure its something with my computer cause so many many things are goofy. I tried all the algorithms and the only one that was sorta normal was percussive pitched on vocals so not good! Although probably workable. I uninstalled melodyne and addictive drums now and will try to figure out the rerun redistributals thing next if thats an underlying issue.

I use melodyne for creative stuff about as much as pitch correction. I hope i get straightened out soon too so i can get back to my song about vertigo, pun intended!

Hi Glenn ty for the info. Can you tell me how to rerun those? I have no idea! Or point me to info. I did a clean reinstall of latest cakewalk following the instructions and quite a few things are still wonky.

Hi John, thanks. I added studio to my post. I have some other vsts acting weird too, blank gui, addictive drums error msg. So probably just me. I will likely uninstall and reinstall cake tomorrow and try again. I have very slow internet sometimes things dont download well!

Its really being weird. My melodyne version is studio 5.3.1.018. The melodic algorithm is my default, now when it opens there arent any individual blobs only one long blob. If I try to cut the one long blob with the note separation tool, it will not cut. I tried other algorithms and found the percussive pitched gives me the usual blobs and they can be cut and act normally, but this is a vocal track not percussion. I think I can work with it this way, just wondering if anyone else is having melodyne weirdness? I haven't done anything like windows updates lately, and just used melodyne normally quite a bit the other day before I updated to the new cakewalk version. Anybody else? Thanks

I don’t quite get how some of us get files in the separations folder and some dont. My computer is offline when Im working in cakewalk. I render asap and before I close a project. I learned early on if you close a file with melodyne active, reopening the file or the work previously done may be wonky so I haven’t done that in years. I don’t cloud anything ever music or other stuff. I have plenty of room in the separations folder, in my example above it was empty. Another of life’s mysteries I guess!

I was puzzled by the comments that if you render the melodyne it does not generate a separation file in that folder because I am in the habit of rendering my work and rarely if ever would close a project with a melodyne open in process and always get files in my separations folder. So I just did an experiment with a one track project and empty separations folder. I edited an audio clip with melodyne, rendered it, closed the project, and a file of it showed up in my separations folder. So it was rendered and the project closed and that separation showed up. Maybe there is a setting somewhere that @John Vere and @Glenn Stanton have setup that I havent? Thanks for any info
