  1. Another great job Tom....musically and visually....steely dan meets pink floyd kind of feeling imho....Walt has a very nice touch on the guitar....enjoyed the whole experience very much ????
  2. Well done!!!!....holy mackerel jack....that is some prince-apallooza....the musical turns you wrote in there totally work ????
  3. Los Angeles, CA....where even a squirrel can get a good slice of pizza ????

    Callisto

Very nice, indeed....the guitar has its own important place in the piece....the sweeping synths all contribute nicely....the tasteful sequencer work you have in there is perfect....i like the piece very much ????
  5. yes....well, there are only two rhythm guitars in the song, both flanged and electric with one on right and one on left, i did automate them quite heavily in terms of volume and the difference in how they sound and, therefore, effect the song in different ways is huge....if this isn't it let me know a specific time in the piece, please....ummmm, the piano isn't, lol, it's a MIDI from the Arturia minilab mkII controller running the Pop Grand Piano (iirc) from the free vst suite Analog Lab Lite that comes with it and was written on the piano roll as i can't play piano much at all....
  6. Thanks mark....the sweeping rhythm guitars are both played live by me on an electric>Boss Flanger pedal>my Focusrite Solo audio interface>CbB....one is panned completely left, the other completely right....the breakdown consists of one of the electric guitars, piano, SI Strings cello and bass....cheers!!!!
  7. Hi mark....very, very nice, beautiful playing....clean and precise yet emotional and real....nice Celtic feel to the piece....arranged and produced perfectly with nothing over done....i like it very much ????
  8. hello jack....you have some interesting musical juxtapositions occurring, kind of like a mix of paul mccartney and frank zappa imho....i would bring the piano up as you wrote some lovely piano music in there but needs to be brought up louder....well done, as usual ????

    OMD Remix

Very nicely done work garybrun....the new mix is louder and a brighter than the original and i do prefer it over the original mix...i enjoy the music in the piece as it is really good enough to stand alone on its own as an instrumental...you have a very good voice and did a great job singing this ( i am sorry but i don't know the name of the piece, i saw OMD and thought it was a cover of an Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark song ? ) cheers ????
  10. Greetings All....finished this about an hour ago so here we go....hope you enjoy it....alone (ambient pop music).... https://larryterrano.bandcamp.com/track/alone-ambient-pop-music DAW: Cakewalk by Bandlab pc: windows 10, i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 8GB ram, electric guitar, bass guitar, focusrite scarlett solo, arturia minilab mkII, arturia analog lab lite, CbB effects Special Thanks to Mike at Creative Sauce on You Tube whose incredible videos on how to use CbB made this possible
  11. Hi abw1101b....like the arrangement, chord changes and overall feel (reminds me of steely dan, an all time favorite)....the mix, audio production and, of course, the drums (the usual culprit) need more polish/work (is there a difference????....i don't think so....)....you're on the right track (pun intended) ????
  12. Hi Jeff....i made it through it....what you lack in production and studio finesse you make up for with a great voice and guitar work....reminds me of early allman brothers....keep going with what you got ????
  13. Hi David........Thanks for the compliments!!!! ???? ....and the comments, i will get the volume up to speed....i googled what jack meant about the "440" as i had not come across that term before and found it an interesting fact to note....here is one definition i found: "A440 (also known as Stuttgart pitch) is the musical pitch corresponding to an audio frequency of 440 Hz, which serves as a tuning standard for the musical note of A above middle C, or A4 in scientific pitch notation".
  14. ....also, another quick fix is to make sure the SI Drum VST Input Echo button(s) on the track(s) that are bleeding into the current track(s) are set to OFF....
  15. Hi TracingArcs....very nice, enjoyed it....just a question/head's up, did you insert the sound of rustling leaves at a very low decibel level or is there a small amount of noise present that i hear???? ????
  16. Yep, that solved it. I want to console module for the track, changed interleave back to stereo, panned to center and, using the little rectangular box to the left of the clip pane, was able to create the green Volume Automation line, insert nodes, move them around....????
  17. Hi Tom....i was listening again today and i just remembered the opera diva from Luc Besson's movie The Fifth Element (one of my favorites)....coincidence????....lol!!....Thanks again for some great music and video to enjoy ????
  18. I had the same problem, the quick fix is to turn the Volume Control in the SI Drum VST all the way down, prolly want to note what the Volume was set at so you can set it back correctly as if you don't the level will be different from the one you had it set to on the original SI Drum track you recorded it on to.
  19. Greetings All. So, used Scarlett Solo audio interface to create an electric guitar track using TH3 for amp and cabinet....when i try to Volume Automate it in various ways (Clips box, box with up and down lines, Console W enabled) the TH3 wave simply doesn't respond to any automation put on it....i searched here but really could not find any solid info....is this a known issue or am i missing something?? TIA....???? EDIT:....so, sitting here at work thinking about this....i wonder that since the recording i made was done on the Scarlett's Right stereo track, which i have panned completely over to the left, and i am trying, iirc, to do the Volume Automation on the left side ( i really don't remember what CbB was showing me right now...the Left or Right or perhaps mono wave since i had to convert to mono at the console module), if that's why the Volume Automation isn't working....so, when i get home i will set the track back to stereo, pan to center and see if the Volume Automation will then work....i'll post the results later today....????
  20. Hello Tom and Thank You for listening and comments....this is my third attempt at creation/arranging/production/engineering/mixing/mastering so, i really do need all the help i can get ?....i will give the eq's a second look...the bass part of the song was really a happy accident, one bass is a DI electric bass with no effects, playing the various bass lines all in the C ionian mode, the other bass is a synth from my arturia minilab mkII controller using the Nitzer Bass setting from Analog Lab 4 Lite and is just a one note (D iirc) repetition that, when combined with the DI bass, is bass chords....that's what gives the recording it's kind of orchestral low ends....currently working on the next song then will circle back to the others and apply the eq'ing and other mixing/mastering techniques that i have learned from you guys the last couple of months....Thanks again!!!! ????

    Vals

Hi David....outstanding....i enjoyed all of the piece very much....Thank You....???? Edit: your Timing is....perfect, i'm pretty far away from that kind of polish and hard work....any advice you have time to post?? ....thanks again ????
  22. my first guitar was a sears silvertone electric (no bigsby/whammy....see pic) with an amp as part of the case....worst.fretboard.action.i.have.ever.seen.....i sold it to a friend around 1970 and got a gibson melody maker which had some of the best fretboard action i've ever seen....here is a pic of what i had: edit: here is a pic of the melody maker:
  23. Here is an answer instead of a question for a change (many thanks to the mods here and others that help us ??).... ....so, if you are just beginning to use SI Drums and are using, say, a 25 key keyboard and notice that not all of the pieces of the SI Drum kits are mapped to all of your 25 key keyboard....well, they are....you have to hit the Octive+ and Octive- buttons to access the rest of them. For more help on SI Drums and how to get the maximum use from them:
  24. Hello John....Thank You for the detailed help. I play the drums myself, Ringo style not like Steve Gadd, and i have never had a problem with my timing when playing live or recording, but this........? lol!!!! Cheers!!!! ????
