I was going to mention this earlier but couldn't remember the shortcut for the life of me.

Anyone here with CbB, Focusrite, SSD5 ? (new 4.63.23 driver error)
chuckebaby replied to filo's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If what you are saying is "Its working" than put me on a list of people who are baffled by an interface driver not allowing a VST to be scanned. -
It all depends on what type of editing your doing. How are you getting these small clips, from copy/paste ? Myself, I do a lot of Drag/select - copy/paste maneuvers (I select a region, then hold CNTRL and drop it to a new area). This cause clips to be separated into smaller fragments. It really is just part of the workflow to be honest. I have Bounce to clips linked to my Custom module. It becomes a 2 click procedure. 1- select the whole track 2- press one button/Done !

It looks like you might be zoomed out a little too much. It would be hard for any DAW to place note names in such a small space and still be legible. Not always practical, I know. Try zooming in just a little bit.

Mackie X-Touch hu ? I assume you mean Behringer X touch. I also wish we could skip hidden tracks, assign tracks, exc. This has been a thorn in my side since buying my Mackie Control. Would love to this feature.

[SOLVED] Project-wide automation enable?
chuckebaby replied to Chance K's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yes, its in the mix module (Global automation playback). You can enable or disable all automation by clicking the Global Automation Playback button in the Control Bar’s Mix module. Its the letter "L" in this photo below. -
Good house keeping means using the "Bounce to clips function" often (after making copy/paste - drag/paste selections). Its easy to use if your purpose is to have one whole clip vs. tiny little splinter clips every where.

I have a couple Focusrite Pres. Ive also had a few Behringer Pres in my lifetime as well. There's something about an Audio track recorded with a good Pre amp, it stands out, warmth. My favorite is pushing the pre amp. It gives me that happy feeling like I get when I heat up the tubes on my Marshall. Mark mentioned the GAP 73 earlier, to me this seems to be one of the better deals for the price. You can get them used for under 2 bills at times (especially around January, February when used inventory is being pushed out). And they add that grit, warmth. I have a Focusrite ISA One and it is one of the most used tools I have now. Since most of my recordings are done multi tracked (one at a time) this thing is the Swiss army knife of pre amps. I just wish the input stage could be better controlled.

Sonitus Preset Manager requires "Run as Admin" to save?
chuckebaby replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The name suggests multiple FX in a chain, But I use it for single plug in usage of Sonitus plug ins. (meaning one plug in/not multiple). It saves not just the preset itself but in some cases, preset input/output, exc. Good luck and let us know if you find it more useful than using the presets which are stored in the registry. -
Sonitus Preset Manager requires "Run as Admin" to save?
chuckebaby replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I had problems saving Sonitus plug ins presets myself, as a work around I choose to make FX chain presets instead. Its almost the same clicks as adding the plug in, and changing the preset. You simply set up the plug in the way you want it, save it as an FX chain preset. Then load it/extract it. Done. -
Sonitus Preset Manager requires "Run as Admin" to save?
chuckebaby replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Makes sense to me because, correct me if im wrong but I believe the presets are stored in the Windows Registry. -
I believe you can use the interleave button Pre or Post recording of a clip as seen in the signal chain diagram below. I choose to leave it in its default state unless... 1- PRE: im trying to record a signal with multiple microphones/find phase relationships (Guitar amps) 2- POST: Isolating problems in a mix.

You probably have a device attached to Cakewalk that gets disconnected when your PC goes in to sleep mode. Unlike Microsoft Word which you can leave open and come back a week later... Cakewalk has peripheral devices plugged in to it with drivers. When PC goes in to sleep mode, then awakes.. Devices cant re-connect properly. OR: If you aren't in sleep mode--- Keeping large project open over night (ones that take 10 minutes to open) are using high amounts of CPU and RAM. You really want to leave that high spinning CPU over night ? Your CPU is probably so sick of winding for 8 hours that it falls down and cries.

Great idea. Like a pop up window of suggestions to lower latency. the only problem I can see is UAC. This analyzer will need to access every part of the users Operating system. So this add on will either.. A - Show a warning if the user is not the Administrator B - The analyzer will surely get flagged by a users Anti Virus. Interesting idea though. Very creative.

Dropout consistently always at 4:17 - SOLVED
chuckebaby replied to gmp's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Paulo just gave you a great starting point to troubleshooting your problem. That's where I would start as well. Check if- Track view> Options > Stop at Project End is preventing you from going any further. See: Stop at project end -
In that case, I restore my that's a "Very fair"price and raise you a "Your a pretty decent guy too". That's a great price for both those units.
-
I take back my "very Fair" and reduce it to a "Fair". I think Guitar center usually sells these used for between 50-80 bucks each I thought we were talking about the ADA8200's Still "Fair though.

Very fair

Enable PX-64, TL-64, and VX-64 processors
chuckebaby replied to Starship Krupa's topic in Feedback Loop
I believe the Style dials only utilized the Sonitus FX suite. @Craig Anderton could probably verify that. I believe there was a write up on them in the E-zine a couple years back. Haven't used the PX, VX or TL64 in years now but they were great little plug ins for their time. The Percussion strip was good for not only Drums...but in some instances Bass too. -
Accessing Songs Within A Live Show
chuckebaby replied to Marke Burgstahler's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I typically do what was described above/split tracks, export. Then I import the songs in to Sony CD Architect. This allows me to re arrange and more importantly.... Number each song for CD type use (Album with songs in format with #'s). -
Faults in (random) VST modules when opening some other project
chuckebaby replied to Dare Rihter's topic in Feedback Loop
- You could send Cakewalk a project directly if you'd like. Here's the link - You can also open a project in Safe mode. This might help see if it is a plug in. Maybe not the plug ins fault either, maybe the way cakewalk is seeing it, Open GL, exc. - There was also a bug fixed in this last update (2019.07-hotfix 2) Crash on opening project after closing another. Hope these help -
Focusrite update BSOD a gogo - Update
chuckebaby replied to Jeremy Oakes's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@Jeremy Oakes I seem to remember Focusrite having a similar issue with a driver they released a year or so ago for the Scarlett series. I think it was the Beta driver for second gens. Im still using a 1st gen (18I8) with great results. Hopefully they iron this out. -

That stinks man, sorry to hear this. Im not sure I can add anything to help here except maybe trying deleting AUD.INI and let Cakewalk Rebuild a new one. I don't know im reaching here. Maybe a corrupt AUD.INI.
