  1. Ooo... My old hacker mind is already having fun with this idea! ? I just finished the setup on a new computer for a guy who's a real joker. He's a legal assistant for one of my attorney clients and sits in a room with a couple of females so I made one of the computer sounds that only happens rarely play a loud fart. Of course, the .wav file itself is named so it fits in with all the other default sound files so he'll never find it. ? Another fun one is to make an Outlook rule that, whenever an email is received from ONE particular person, it plays a sound. However, the real trick is to have the sound file be mostly quiet and then have it whisper "Hey!" or, even better, have it quietly say the person's name (recording this from the main firm partner would be best of course!). Oh man, have I had fun with this one. ?
  2. I think it's very healthy to take responsibility... (and blame Bapu.) ?
  3. Time for a nap? I've been up since 3am working on some servers... ?
  4. Definitely got me beat! I didn't start programming until 1970 (HOLY CRAP!!! I JUST REALIZED THAT'S 50(!) YEARS AGO!!!). ? I was never into the hardware side of things (until about four years ago) and I was that 19 year-old hacker working for a defense contractor back during the Cold War. ? I did wire this up recently though (orange were for employees, red for tenants).
  5. But will these devices work with MIDI 2.0? ?
  6. Have fun. I missed him when he was out here... He literally was in the arena across the street and next door to two of our clients downtown. Oh well!
  7. Plot twist: That's not a Golden Throat pipe the one keyboard player is using, it's actually providing him with Nitrous Oxide. ?
  8. Noice! I love me some good geek speak! ? I used to be a DEC SME contracting to Verizon Wireless. I was part of the 1xRTT project (the first generation of Internet on mobile phones) and I wrote the fuzzy logic to match call records as they are handed off from cell tower to cell tower. I also briefly worked on the guidance system for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile back in the early 80's. Add in almost 20+ years of writing or rewriting accounting and invoicing software, and the above were probably the funnest projects I had...
  9. I've seen some Snarky Puppy videos where it looked like about 20 band members! That would be hard to find a paying gig, ya?
  10. Since your next one will be your 10th(!) album, how about something a bit more psychedelic? You know, lots of those drones, but with really cool loops, sequences, after-touch, etc. I could use some modern mushroom music. ?
  11. Wha??! Someone has ALL your albums??! ? (Well! I'd better get your latest and catch up then! ?)
  12. The suspension's been tuned a little flat ever since...
  13. FINALLY! I've been waiting for Steve to post something from the Stranglers! ??
  14. You should instruct him: "Tell them I'm your father, I'm just like you but with more experience!" ?
  15. I know. I bet you're also going to try and tell me that meant to say "The use of amp devices for jazz" too, ya? ?
  16. My first thought was "Dang, everything looks nice and clean, plus there are all those Douglas Firs in the background... Looks like around here!" Then I saw the Seattle phone number (area code 206). Just think Bill, not only could you get some decent coffee, but you could legally smoke the whacky weed too if you so chose! ?
