Since most religious scholars place both his birth and crucifixion in September, other existing pagan holidays (one that celebrated evergreen trees to provide hope to get through the winter, and another that celebrated the fertility of spring) were borrowed. Sort of what happened to me very early this morning... When I sleep in my bed, my closet is only about a foot away behind my head and... The entire shelf inside the closet failed and everything came crashing down! ? I just about his the ceiling! Not the best way to wake up! I thought either the roof was caving in or someone was breaking down my bedroom door. NOT FUN! Broke my closet door and spilled everything all over the place too. Took several hours to fix as well! Yay. ?
