  1. I do like that they provide this option ? But I already need to expand my USB hub again for things that actually require USB, like MIDI controllers, audio interfaces, external drives, etc, not for software to talk to a piece of hardware it has no other purpose needing ? But I just simply buy other amazing devs and I don't have to bother at all with USB (unless I choose to), as they provide 2, 3, or in some cases licenses for as many machines as I have for life ?
  2. Another downside to WUP is that you only have one license, unless you have active WUP. Most of the good companies around these days provide at least 2 licenses by default, which is much more convenient if you have a desktop and a laptop, or the studio rig and one at home. This deal is actually quite a good price and I was almost tempted, but I've been trying to replace all of my plugins with other devs, so there's no chance I'll ever need to spend more money on WUP for something I've already bought ? I still had a look though ?
  3. I got the Fender Collection for free in the last IK Group Buy and mostly just because I'd already picked a lot of things I really wanted first, but when I got it I was really impressed by the sound. Even more so than some of the choices I'd picked in preference first! I'd recommend trying the demo ? Amp Sims depend a lot on the pickups/guitar and the interface it's going through, so it's always best to try on your set-up. More so than most plugins, etc..
  4. There's not a chance in hell I'll ever pay WUP (or buy another Waves plugin until they scrap it!), so I'm safe there! ? If only the masses didn't for a year, there would no longer be WUP and they'd have to change their model ?
  5. Oh wow, that's a great pickup, I did not notice that! I'll have to see what the difference between them is. Thanks ?
  6. Great stuff. Thanks. That was actually the only one I was interested in! I'd seen this one around a little but haven't tried it yet and at full price, I likely wouldn't. But on sale it's got me curious and wondering whether it's worth adding into the kit.. Have you used it?
  7. Are you sure it was up to 85% off? When I looked there wasn't anything close to that much of a discount. Unless it wasn't live yet, or you get special prices.. which I wouldn't rule out ?
  8. Agreed, it's definitely better. Although there's clowns like iLok that use an always on connection for their cloud activations, so you need to be connected everytime you use the plugins! Hopefully they pay attention too ? They do offer dongles and machine activations (for some plugins), but anything that has a requirement for ALWAYS having an internet connection is bound to cause problems sooner or later.
  9. I picked this as the Christmas freebie from Applied Acoustics and so far out of the ones I've been through, there's a couple where I've been pleasantly surprised ? Like Brian mentioned, the vibrato and even breath/noise was a little heavy on some, but with the full version of Ultra Analog 3 it was easy enough to tweak them. Others were fine without any tweaking. Looking forward to going through the rest of the patches now ?
  10. That does indeed! VERY helpful ? It's a bit of a shame that so many are 32bit and the ToneBoosters are only demo. ToneBoosters seem quite good really, so I was more interested in them. I already have Ignite Nucleus and Melodyne Essentials, so it's awesome value in general, but it doesn't give me personally a heap more that I need. Still tempting though.. I guess that's G.A.S... haha.. ?
  11. I have it and the more I dig into it, the more I love it. For me, the strange thing is I just really dislike the default setting. Once I back off the transients and adjust some of the times, it's REALLY good ? It's a multiband limiter, but not really like other multiband limiters I've used. It can be super transparent. I've got Pro-L2, Xenon, Limiter6 and others and it's more comprehensive than all of them. Handles being pushed well. They all can have a place at times though depending on the source audio. I also mainly just used Elevate bundle until recently, but lately I've been using Saturate (Clipper) from it as well, and Punctuate (Multiband transient shaper). Both in Elevate, but also can be used as plugins by themselves and they're actually pretty damn good! It's also handy having it all in one, so having the EQ in there is useful as well. I haven't used the EQ heaps separately, but I'm sure if I spent more time with it, I can see it being excellent too. I'd happily buy it again if I needed it ?
  12. I couldn't see anything definite about whether all the plugins would work in other DAWs last time I looked so I gave it a miss. Would be interesting to know for sure.
  13. Some interesting points there.. thanks! I might have to give it a try and before I decide I think ?
  14. Thanks Brian ? I do like Melda and they have some great things, but I also have Harrison Ava Mastering EQ which allows me to draw curves and seems to sound quite good! I struggled with it a little at first, but the last time I used that I was quite surprised! I tend not to have Wacom tablet when producing either! ?
  15. I got this one free, but wasn't sure if it was a keeper, so haven't installed it yet. What's everyone's thoughts on it? I'll probably download the demo first just to get a feel for it, but I have so many good EQs already I'm not sure it adds anything!
  16. It seems that nothing is safe these day ? haha
  17. If the personal vouchers are not generic this month, then I have a $25 to share now, so PM me if you want it ?
  18. Totally get it! Lots of hype in marketing in audio stuff, so I was pretty skeptical, but I can see it fitting nicely along them as well. Sometimes it's worth it alone for the inspiration and creativity buzz ?
  19. I've only used it for a little while (since that offer!), but there's something I really like about it.. It's not perfect and I think I'd always produce in Cubase, but for mixing, stems, mastering, or just arranging an album it's easily worth it... and fun!
  20. It also comes with the free video training and free compressor: XT-CC Console Compressor https://harrisonconsolesstore.onfastspring.com/mb32c-xt-cc-bf-offer
  21. Oh that does sound like a rabbit hole.. but agree a lot of fun! Was just reading up on analogue summing as well and also couldn't rule out adding a bit of extra hardware to the kit ? Agreed on the CPU hogs.. although for one piece of hardware, if we all spent that on the computer/upgrade, it would be a non issue too ? I've been testing out Viridian2 and Amethyst4 so far. I think I'm preferring Amethyst, but I'll put them through a few more paces. I know stepped is common, especially for mastering, but I also preferred the EQs etc being non stepped in Amethyst and from a usability perspective it just seems like a slightly better workflow.
  22. Thanks Tom. That one does look good ? I figured I might get one of the ones that are cheaper/on a bigger sale as that would then also get me the discount offers on the other ones. Because the ones I have were freebies, I don't seem to get any of those offers. I'll make a note of Gold though. What have you moved to instead of Acustica and why, or have you just trimmed down what you have?
