  4. I don't suppose anyone happens to have a spare free license of M1 LE do they. If you do and could PM me I'd really appreciate it and happy to gift/trade something in return of course ?
  5. Personally I'd go the V76U73, but I've really been enjoying some of those pres and comps from Telefunken and other manufacturers through those times. Both good choices though and can be quite subtle across a number of tracks or busses, or pushed further if wanting to as well.
  6. Now if only they dropped a $20 no minimum spend voucher, people would go completely nuts! ?
  7. Haha... I wasn't sure if you were referring to my post or not, as you added a reaction and then posted, so I did think it could go either way.. but I was just having a laugh and being cheeky anyway! ? It's funny you mention VST. I actually like that! It also captures the essence of what it originally was quite well "Virtual Studio Technology". But I'm also mindful that it's been around so long, that it's very familiar and that could bias my thoughts on it a little. To include something about it being an open standard, or cross platform to me would be better than "Clever Little Audio Plugin". Even CLP is a slight improvement, but I still don't really like that. Pavlov's comments are on point though. Branding can play a big part and a great name for it should resonate with the most amount of people possible. It's going to be a hard sell for Steinberg and Avid in particular as it is. Let alone their marketing departments are probably going to cringe when they tell them they want to give their DAWs the CLAP! ? VST is short and catchy and lends itself well to versions. CLAP3 if it gets there just sounds a little odd in my opinion! But then again, maybe their only intent was to give it a CRAP name to get people talking and raise awareness ?
  8. I think you might be projecting there ? Haha.. I never said I related the name to an STD, I just don't think it sounds good. I would like to think they could come up with something better, more catchy and recognisable to what it's about. The fact that it translates to Gonorrhea is just another sign it didn't hit the mark as well as it could've!

  11. I took a punt on RC-20 being updated to VST3.. for $19 it was worth the risk.. and they delivered! Very happy with that purchase now ?
  12. The name really doesn't make any difference... But calling it CLAP is quite possibly one of the worst names I've heard in a long time ?
  13. Thanks ? It's possible they just hadn't updated the page I was looking at. Although definitely can't assume VST3 support in this day and age it seems!
  14. I wondered about these, but the bundle didn't seem to be VST3..
  15. This isn't instantly grabbing me as much as I thought it might. I guess for the regular price and even the sale price, maybe my expectations may have been too high. It could also be a little more source material dependent and work with less things, but I'm not sure it's actually adding much to what I already have in that space. If it was $29 or some reasonable price then I'd be more likely, but for what it adds even at sale price, that's quite a few other quality plugins that the money could go towards. I'll still spend some more time checking it out, but it hasn't wowed me so far.
  16. That seems a bit cheaper than I've seen the Zener Bender for before. Just taking it for a test run now to see if I might want to buy it.
  17. That doesn't strike a chord with me.. I suspect their sales may be a little flat as a result and I don't think it's the sharpest of business ideas.. they may need to fine tune that ?
  18. Yep, I think they noticed it was broken... I refreshed the page again to see and it now says unauthorized for me too. This was the URL https://customer.focusritegroup.com/en/software/plug-collectivesound-collective-3-months-ni-komplete-now-subscription
  19. Strange.. it shows up in my account, but I get an error if I try and claim it. I might raise a support ticket, but I'll probably just wait and see if it irons itself out for now.. I'm not in a huge rush to get this one.
  20. Dirk... is that... you... ? ?
  21. Exactly this. If people stop paying and buying their plugins, WUP would be gone in a few years. Not exactly rocket science. It's a crap practice and given the plethora of alternative companies that provide ongoing updates for the life of plugins, it's a bit comical people pay it so willingly. That's why I very reluctantly buy anything Waves any more. Instead of paying WUP, I just look to replace it with something from another developer.
  22. Given WUP is their gravy train, there's really very little incentive for Waves to care about getting the plugins right the first time around.. quite the opposite... They can hurry to release and sell and then care about bug fixes a few years later, essentially double dipping and getting people to pay more than once. I like all the devs that provide bug fixes at least for as long as they're selling it and that is a very long list of developers with excellent plugins.
  23. That's a lot of bug fixes... Now I see why they need WUP.. they make really buggy software ??
  24. The GAS side of me is disappointed I missed out on this one, as it's a killer deal! But I have been a little on the fence lately about iZotope and I'd mainly only be wanting it for a few things, so I don't feel too bad. That said, I think I would've found it pretty hard to resist at that price, even for those couple of items. Great score to those that got it ?
