Velocity Curve Correction?

JonnyHeyhey

Question

Hi there, does cakewalk have a velocity curve correction plugin?

I have an Icon i-keyboard X and the velocity curve options are a  bit weird...I can't seem to play expressively.

Is there a velocity curve plugin that can detect my keyboard's dynamic range and adjust it for cakewalk?

Thanks!

You could try Cakewalk's "Velocity" MFX plugin.  This allows you to offset and scale velocities.

Just drag it into your MIDI track's effect bin.  F1 brings up the help.

If you're using an instrument track, the track view will show an audio effects bin, so click on the MIDI tab in the inspector and use the FX Bin in the inspector.

Another option is midiCurve.

It is a VSTi which provides a graphical way to create a velocity curve.

Add the plug-in to the project (it scans as a synth), set its input to the controller and enable input echo.

midiCurve will show up as the input on the other synth tracks.

The original developers page is long gone but 64bit versions of the plug-ins are still available from  https://code.google.com/archive/p/pizmidi/downloads

The most recent zip is pizjuce_x64_20120111.zip

Unzip into a folder in your scan path to install all of the utilities or just copy the midiCurve.dll into the scan path if that is the only one you want.
