About Me

  1. Hey everybody! I've downloaded Cakewalk by BandLab a few days ago, and have encountered an unpleasant surprise. For the past 6 months, I've been using the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit as my e-drum kit. I wanted to try and record my drumming and have found Cakewalk as a free DAW with good reviews, so I gave it a go. As my drum software, I use MT Power Drum Kit. The problem is that I record a song, which is originally 3:38 long and even though I start the recording the very moment I play the song (so it is the same length) when I'm done and I export the audio into wave, the file is just 3:30 long and when I import the sound into Sony Vegas and try to synchronize it with the original song, it does this weird thing where the longer the song goes, the more out of synch it gets. At the very beginning the snaps and everything is fairly on-point, however, a few dozen seconds into the track, the drums are severy out of synch with the song. I was thinking that maybe it had something to do with me not using an external audio interface, but then again, the track in Cakewalk is as long as it should be (it shortens only after export). Do any of you have any advice as to why this is happening or how could I possibly fix it? Very grateful Adam
  2. I have recorded a song which consists of mainly guitar and vocals I recorded using a mic. At the end, however, I add in a drum plugin and an additional layer of guitar. In my project, the drums sound perfectly in time with this additional layer of guitar. But, when I export the project (to WAV) the drums are just slightly out of time, by less than a second but it is definitely still audible. Please help, cheers.
  3. Loc-Ness by Tone Emprire on sale for $29 Drum/Percussion Processor The Smash Box. What does it do? Drums…, the most crucial part of your mix that can make or break a track. For decades pro engineers have used various combinations of compressors, pre-amps ,eq’s and saturation to make styles of sounds that stand out. Not just a compressor or eq, Loc-Ness is the mystical plugin that brings all the right controls and colors for drums to your workstation . This is a dedicated channel designed for processing Individual Drum Hits, The room sound, and the entire drum bus.

  7. I have a Yamaha dtx402k electronic drum kit. I have it connected to Scarlett Solo Gen 2 interface with Cakewalk. All my drums register while playing (including the kick/base drum) and when I listen to them back I can hear them all except the base /kick drum. I can see the base/kick drum recording on the midi track but no sound comes out, but all other toms, snare, cymbals do. Very strange. Any Ideas
  8. Today, While recording a drumkit track (using my roland piano as midi input) suddently the drumkit stopped working properly. When i want to select the drumkit in the instrument section it automatically switches to MIDI only. I tried a reïnstal of cakewalk but that doesnt work. Can anyone help me out?

  17. Hey out there! I'd like to share my new EP with you guys. I think I've done some steps from the first one, but it's still a long way. Nevertheless I can tell that I'm satisfied with the result. What definitevly changed a lot is the the use of Addictive Drums 2. I already love the drum sounds. All instruments played by myself, as well mixing and mastering! Enjoy!! 21. I think we really need new sampler to use it in Cakewalk. In world of free software I really like TX16WX which can be used not as a sample player but really as a sampler. https://www.tx16wx.com/ - link to TX16WX. This is a great free sampler which main task is to make samples, not to work with libraries, etc. It can be used with everything. I use it nowadays for drums which I like to play on midi pads at home. We had Session Drummer which really needs to be updated. I think modern music needs samplers with MPC workflow. On other hand we have Addictive Drums/Session Drummer for those who need real acoustic drums. We also had old plugins for this task. But nowadays do we really need to buy NI Battery? S1 users have a great Impact Drum Module and Ableton Live users can use Drum rack or Impulse drum sampler. I think Cakewalk needs its own thing to use.
  22. ODDGROOVES DEAL BELOW 👇 Hi, this is Per from OddGrooves! Between 2009 and 2014, we used to offer monthly MIDI drum jams to our customers and newsletter subscribers. Many of our songwriter friends used them as a starting point when writing a new tune, and others used them for practising their instrument. We put the jams on hold around five years ago to focus on other stuff, and since then a lot of people have asked us to bring them back. So, we decided to put together all of the old jams into a old/new-ish product, conveniently packaged for you to drop right into your DAW and start jamming. Please note that if you were a subscriber 2014 or before, there's a chance you already have some of the jams. The Jam Pack consists of 45 32-bar drum jams in a wide variety of time signatures, tempos and genres. Perfect for practice or using as a starting point for your next chartbuster. For a short while, the price is only 5 bucks! Click here to check out The Jam Pack We also got you a freebie that's not included in the pack. The free jam for October 2019 was inspired by a song that rhymes with Drool on a Train, by a legendary group whose name has something to do with light-emitting diodes and large airships that had a tendency to crash. Well, you get the idea. Click here to download the free jam Cheers, Per PS We get questions regarding Steven Slate 5 not being compatible with third party grooves pretty much every day. I am in close contact with the people at Slate, and the latest news is that they are planning a large update shortly - and that update will hopefully include support for third party grooves. Fingers crossed! The Jam Pack MIDI drum jams $5.00

  24. Hi I'm trying to get my head round the drum options on the phone app. It seems that when used on a laptop the drums have a starting point with two patterns already in place to mess around with. These two patterns don't seem to be there on the phone app and I'm not quite sure where to start with a drum kit from scratch...am I missing them in the app or are they not there?
