  1. TIME MICRO is now available for Download at Orchestral Tools. The pre-order price of 199 euros has been extended for two days, so I guess that means 9/18. I think there is also an intro price after that, before it goes to its full price of 349 euros. To my knowledge OT has never discounted on its site. There was just last December's NI sale. Unless something crazy like that happens again, this could be the best price yet for TIME MICRO. For me, this is one of the best libraries in a long, long time. The demos are great and show what it's like. I've never pre-ordered anything before, but this was a very easy decision.
  2. I'll be at IMSTA FESTA in New York City today. Some of the companies listed above will be there. Anybody else going? I'm going to the 3pm and 5pm lectures from Fabfilter and the one at 4pm from NI on Komplete Kontrol.
  3. I'm sure AudioThing has been selling more XMas Beer Bottles in the last few months than they ever have.😃 My trick with the Plugin Boutique monthly freebies is to demo them, if I'm not sure I want them. Otherwise I get this weird Freebie GAS that makes me afraid to miss out. If I don't like the freebie, then I don't spend money on something I don't want in order to get it.
  4. This is new stuff. In the past their freebies were all limited editions of their regular products.
  5. I really like them too. What's great is they provide the files to put them in all your drum programs. I use them with Addictive Drums, all the NI Abbey Road series, and Groove Agent. You get a LOT more MIDI with their packages than you do with the ones for Addictive Drums, and the quality is very high. Also the developer was really helpful in helping me get the new version of Groove Agent to work.
  6. Until September 30th. More info HERE Okay everybody, what are you going to buy to get this? Also, comments online are not completely positive, suggesting that this might make your tracks quieter than other people's. Your thoughts?
  7. Drum Loop Packs are $11.95. Buy 4 packs, get a 5th free! More info HERE
  8. I did download the OUTER SPACE demo and it's a nice model of the Roland Space Echo Re-201, just like the Arturia DELAY TAPE 201. If I had purchased OUTER SPACE before I think I would have been happy. But now I've heard the Arturia and I like it better. I like the presets more and I like the way it sounds when I tweak presets. Even with the current 30% off sale, OUTER SPACE is $48.30. I can get all 3 Arturia plugins for $69. So for me, the choice is easy. I like DELAY ETERNITY a lot too. I'm just debating whether I need this now or whether I should wait to buy them later. But again, my responses are very personal and I recommend people download the demos and decide for themselves. On a related noted, I compared the IK T-RackS Tape Echo (an Echoplex mod) to the Arturias, and it doesn't stand up.. Not a fair comparison, because they model different devices, but still, it's not a delay I would ever use. And that's the only delay in T-RackS. A serious omission IMHO. So I believe that in a future version of T-RackS, they may have a series of delays, perhaps a 201 and some digital delays. So I may wait to see what is in T-RackS 6 is before I buy these.
  9. How do you all think this compares with other tape plugins? For example, Waves, u-he, the IK Multimedia ones, Slate Digital, etc. I remember this went for sale before (maybe Black Friday?), but I don't remember the price. It might even have been less than this.
  10. I downloaded the demos of all three and spent a few hours comparing them to all the delays I own, and with different kinds of sounds. I even downloaded a demo of Fabfilter's Timeless, which I only own on the iPad to make my comparisons. When I demo effects I'm always looking to see if they do something that none of my existing effects do. Most of the time they don't pass this test and I don't buy. My feeling about delays is that any of them can make a thick synth sound or an overdriven guitar sound great, and do really weird stuff (Objeq Delay) but few of them can give you that lovely delay that is pristine and sounds something like a delay that thinks it's first rate reverb. So I always try them on an acoustic guitar. This is very personal, but I'm always looking for it. Usually to get the subtle effect I have to turn everything way down. All the presets on my delays are far from what I'm looking for. DELAY TAPE-201 is my new favorite delay. I thought Timeless was the most beautiful delay, but now this is the one for me. Maybe the reason I like this so much is that it is a delay-reverb hybrid. It's so beautiful. Transparent. It can do more than that, but it is exactly the delay I've been looking for. DELAY ETERNITY - Unlike all the other Arturia synths and effects except for Pigments, this isn't a model of analog gear--it's an original design by Arturia. I think it's incredibly good. It can give you very subtle, reverb-like delays and also very wayout stuff, in the vein of some things Echoboy can do and D16's Sigmund. This is a powerhouse tool. Like Pigments it is beautifully designed. DELAY MEMORY-BRIGADE - Meh. I would never be interested in this bundle if they sounded like this. Very ordinary. The best thing I can say about it is that it is really easy to use. But why would you ever use it? The others are so much better. My existing delays are better. But two out of three ain't bad. FYI, the simple GUIs of these three don't tell the whole story of these delays. If you click an arrow on the top right, lots more controls become visible below. And you then see that the presets couldn't be done without adjusting these hidden parameters. So they aren't as simple to use as they appear at first glance. I'm probably going to get these at some point.
  11. Update 1.0.2 including 100 new presets and some minor fixes.
  12. What is the link for this? Do you need to have the whole Korg Collection to have access to this? I only got the M1.
  13. If you like beautiful pads... go for it. You won't be disappointed. Even if you have to pay $5 more. 😊
  14. I did pick up the 88% deal last time around. They didn't put up a warning like this, they just posted it on Vi:Control and I went for it. They've done so many sales that a lot of the people that want them, already have them. So I'm sure you have a shot. If you don't have MOUNTAINS, it is really in Frozen Plain territory as far as pads go. Highly recommended.
  15. As this deal ends in a few days, I broke down and bought the Gadget plugins for PC, even though I was trying to wait for them to implement NKS. Hopefully they won't charge me when they do. Having messed around with Gadget since it came out on the iPad, it is so nice to have the gadgets in my DAW. I got them for the same reason that I'm getting Reason 11. These virtual instruments are necessarily better than the stuff I have, but they are so familiar. I can jump into using them. Gadgets are so simple. And the GUI on Gadget is so much better than the Korg Collection stuff. It's what the Korg collection should be. I realize that the Gadgets aren't the same as the Korg Collection. You can't do combis or make new patches on the M1 Gadget, Darwin. But that can be a plus as well as a minus. I'm very happy I got it, and NKS will just make them better.
  16. You may know SAS from their beautiful libraries as MOUNTAINS, RESONA, TALUA, and AUTUMN CHOIRS. They also have a freebie, CONSONA. If you missed last year's sale, basically they work the opposite way as a Group Buy. You get a bigger discount the faster you buy. There are only a limited number of coupons with the biggest discounts. So if you buy quickly you can get s much as 88% off. More info HERE It kicks off on September 1st (0 am GMT) and goes to September 30th. My problem is I already own all of them.
  17. I bought Frozen Plain's Phoenix for $10. Now I have everything they sell except for their Frostpoint Impulse Responses. It looks like it will be one of my very favorites from FP--and that's saying a lot! 😃
  18. I already have some great delays, but I will definitely demo these. I wonder if they will do reverbs next.
  19. Reason has always been $129 to upgrade from any version. But you can get an upgrade for $108.36 today from JRRShop with code GROUP. So that is no doubt what it will cost on 9/25 to get 11. If somebody--like me--hasn't upgraded in a while, then this price will get you Reason 10 right now, and there's a free upgrade to 11 on 9/25. Of course, I have seen the Reason upgrade for $99 and of course that means really cheap at the discount stores, as @Fleer pointed out.
  20. I have been dreaming of this for years. Well, they finally got me to upgrade. It comes out on Sept 25th, but you can sign up for a Demo. VST 3 only at this point. AU coming before end of 2019. You can upgrade to Reason 10 now for $129 from any previous version of Reason and you'll get Reason 11 for free on 9/25. Upgrade HERE Reason now comes in three version: Reason Intro ($99), Reason ($399) and Reason Suite ($599) If you have Reason, you can upgrade to the Suite for $249. It comes with 16 extra rack extensions: Scenic Hybrid Instrument (NEW) Complex-1 Modular Synth Umpf Club Drums Umpf Retro Beats Reason Electric Bass Reason Drum Kits Processed Pianos Layers Wave Edition Layers Parsec Spectral Synthesizer Radical Keys Polar Dual Pitch Shifter Rotor Rotary Speaker PolyStep Sequencer Quad Note Generator Drum Sequencer
  21. Hundred of great instruments and effects go up on this forum, with amazing discounts. In the last month or two, what were the purchases you liked the most? Not necessarily the best bargains, but the ones you really loved after you downloaded them and started playing? This will be helpful for the rest of us when these deals come up again. For me: $50 or less Indiginus STEEL So playable. It's like Bohemian violin--just play and it sounds beautiful. $49! Korg M1 - Amazing to get so many great sounds made by master sound designers like John Lehmkuhl. Old, but still good! Band-in-a-Box Xtra Styles 7 $29!! Working on a song with one of the styles now. Audiofier/APD Riffendium bundle - I worried I wouldn't like this because it was loops. I love it. More $$ 8Dio Studio Sopranos - One of the most beautiful vocal libraries I own. ProjectSAM Swing! So much more than big band - I've used this on two projects already iZotope Music Production Suite 2.1 - With this and RX Standard, I feel pretty set up with iZotope for mixing, mastering and audio repair now. How about you? Wow, it seems I really buy a lot of stuff..... oh well, if it makes me happy. 🙂
