  1. I've never had any problem with them at all. Their business model is easy to see. Don't buy their products when they come out. Wait for a MAX bundle or, even better, a new edition of Total Studio. They have released a ton of FX I want irecently, but there is no question that there will be a T-RackS 6 and I will save by waiting. So I wait. If some of you want to enjoy the products immediately, then it's your choice, and, after all these years, you pay that premium with your eyes open. If there's anybody in the world who knows about when and how music software sales work, it should be the people on this particular forum. We know what happens with IK on Black Friday. 95% of other developers don't allow resales. IK does. Although there is a fee, it is super easy to do. How many other developers offer something like JamPoints? They even improve the formula for awarding JamPoints to their best customers. They often give you JamPoints for stuff you get free in some promotions. They often add extras after you buy something, like patches for Syntronik, or producer presets for T-RackS. How many developers have somebody like @Peter - IK Multimedia who drop by forums like this one to answer questions? I have liked pretty much everything I've bought from them and use it a lot. I'm grateful for that. It's true that I don't use SampleTank much anymore, but there was a time when it was very important to me. What makes me upset is when I do a pre-buy on a $200 library based on my trust in a developer--and then it turns out to be full of bugs and something I'll never use. I'm thinking of a piece of software right now that every buyer knows is crap but they pull their punches because the developer is so respected. Even I do. But that's the kind of thing that makes me stop doing business with a developer. I have had so many worse experiences with developers than with IK. The download policy is obnoxious, I admit. I can't defend that, but it isn't an issue for me personally because I keep copies and backups of all my rar files. Just my two cents.
  2. I've always been interested in this. Very cool to pick it up for $14.99. 😁 The free 350 patch library for Unify is still available HERE
  3. Enough with the free cloth sounds! I want a free Krotos Dehumaniser!

  5. Actually, that's the old version. The new version is even better. -Brand new interface which features Drag and Drop functionality for simple and intuitive experimentation. -All the combinations of instruments have been rendered down, both single and with stereo doubling. This makes it possible to layer instruments together without so much memory and cpu. -Voice limit halves if only one pattern has rhythms in it. This saves memory. -Fixed Legato issues from before -Custom keyswitches are restricted to a specific range, which simplifies their use. -Fixed intonation on high violin and cello samples -Upgraded from Kontakt 5 to Kontakt 6-only compatibility.
  6. I'm doing a poll on VI:Control to help me research my upcoming video. If any of you have a moment, please go over there and cast your vote. I'm not sure if you have to be a member of VI:Control to do that. If you can't, please respond below. I'm trying to find out if people use the Brunel Loops or Stephenson's Steam Band. I know what I do, but I don't want to make any assumptions about other people.. Thanks for you help. Please tell me if I'm abusing the forum, but I feel like all of you are friends and I respect your opinions a lot. Maybe that's another question? Should I not use this forum in this way? 😀
  7. You can get 1.2 terabytes of their sounds, for $23. https://www.freetousesounds.com/product/all-in-one-sound-library-bundle/ Or... you can get it for $20 in the cloud and only need to download what you need. This also offers you all the formats that BandCamp does. https://freetousesounds.bandcamp.com/
  8. Krotos has a free demo on this and most of their other stuff. https://www.krotosaudio.com/shop/
  9. What I have made my living at for the last 20 years is as a writer. So I am very familiar with writing essays. I write these videos in advance. Before I start talking, I read what I wrote and then extemporize. But they take a lot of time to prepare because I have to think a lot and formalize what I want to say. I marvel at people who can just turn the camera on and talk. Believe me, I have a lot of video ideas I want to do. It's a long list. My dream is that after I make 50 of them, people will figure out what I'm doing. In the meantime, I have the next video to make!
  10. Thank you, Peter. It means a lot. I try hard to make them entertaining and spend a lot of time making them, but I put them up and minutes later many people unsubscribe. I think that whenever you do something that some people like, at the same time you are doing something that others don't like. Several times I have spent weeks on a video and then taken it down. I'm not going to stop, but anytime I can find somebody who likes one of them it is a really big deal to me and much appreciated.
  11. Korg has been promising this as "coming soon" for years. I was very happy about this. Years ago I made a video on using Korg Nanokey Studio with Gadget on the iPad. It's my most popular video on music to date, with over 50,000 views. I sold the Nanokey not long after. 😀 So now I think I will do a sequel to this now that Gadget 2 has NKS. A lot more people on PC and Mac should know about this. More info HERE https://www.korg.com/us/news/2021/0204/
  12. I can't wait to download this. Elysion is one of my favorites. It's very easy to make a track with it.
  13. Shooting it wasn't fun. Putting all the stupid stuff in during the edit was fun. So I think it's allowed. I hope you had fun watching it. 😃
  14. More fun playing the piece, definitely. This was actually my hardest video to do. But I'm glad it came out reasonably funny. LOUIE LOUIE was easy. I'm planning another "awesome" video, by the way.
  15. It really is great. I hope that over the coming years, people will find this video in a search and buy it.
  16. That review sums it up for me. These are my headphones now. I could pay more... but I like 'em. I have a music computer and a work computer. I got tired of moving the headphones back and forth, so I bought a second pair. And when I broke one of them, I bought a third pair. CB-1s are what I'm used to now. Very comfortable to wear for long periods, as my wife is having all these Webex meetings not too far away. For final mixing, I use speakers. I'm happy I passed on this deal to everybody, and I'm glad that all of you were so open to giving these a chance. I worried, because my ears are not so good these days....
  17. A lot of you may have downloaded Soniss free sound effects in previous years. If you don't know what this is, they are kind of tasters for paid sample libraries. Extremely high quality stuff. The only problem is you have to search through it all to find the things you want. Anyway, you can get 2015 through 2020 editions all at this link: https://sonniss.com/gameaudiogdc#1605030813191-c5a1f3d0-8ba @JoeGBradford Thanks for the info about the BBC sound effects. I've looked at sources for free and inexpensive sound effects for some time. I started a thread on VI:Control for places to find free and inexpensive sound effects, and got a lot of responses. You can find it HERE
  18. I don't always do videos on the newest stuff. This is an oldie but oh-so-goodie. Watch as I play Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from the 9th on the analog synths in Solid State Symphony. I always have a blast with this thing. 😀
  19. Great video, Simeon! I listened to it with my CB-1s. 😀
  20. It must cost 8dio a LOT of money to offer all these freebies. They spend money every time you get one. I do think it's worth celebrating how many companies do this. Spitfire with LABS. ProjectSAM with the Free Orchestra. Native Instruments with Komplete Start and a lot of other things. Embertone. VSL with Big Bang. And now Orchestral Tools. The list goes on. This is a really nice thing and these companies deserve a lot of praise for doing this.
  21. Praying that the worst isn't true, and Terry still has more time with his family. Life is precarious. We all need to be aware of how lucky we are, and appreciate every moment we get.
