  1. Still waiting for Dicksmasher to be released. Such a promising name.
  2. "Hey ChatGPT, could you write me a marketing description for an EQ VST, with a marketing to useful information ratio of 3:1. Use every superlative you know."
  3. True, I could be very good. And I can stomach a few of those lines. But this is so ridiculously over the top I couldn't really read the description. In my mind I tried to skip all the marketing stuff, but that also cuts away most of the useful info. I hope for their sake they will consider rewriting it, because not being able to read the description might just deter people from buying it.
  4. They have done some marketing research, learned a lot of phrases and decided they will use them ALL. Some gems: And why describe a solo button in a boring way:
  5. https://www.landr.com/sessions/ This one flew under my radar but can be very useful. I believe the service is paid, but the plugin is free. And here's where that could be useful. You can put it on your master and then use the plugin as an audio input in OBS. This could be ideal for people who want to stream their DAW or want to make videos with in-DAW content. Another option for that is using ReaStream which is also free. http://reaper.fm/reaplugs/
  6. My go-to plugin when I use multiple kicks. I like to use the Drumbrute Impact alongside the TR-8S which almost always gives some phase cancelation. You can fix some with just changing the polarity, but this works great.
  7. But to be serious, this looks amazing. My setup is a an RME Digiface + 4x Behringer ADA8200 and that would be the setup with about the most dedicated inputs possible. or so I thought. This one is on par with that + I imagine better preamps on at least the Arturia unit. Plus all the extra features like DC coupled outputs, zero-latency passthrough, USB, MIDI. Damn, this is a very serious piece of kit.
  8. This is an awesome techno tool.
  9. I don't. I have Android. That's why it sucks this is iOS only. I would like to use it, but I can't.
  10. It really sucks this is iOS only. I'm not a fan of fiddling on my phone, but the prospect of working out ideas quickly is great. A melody in your head or a drum pattern. You have no idea how many melody lines I have whistled and recorded on my phone. Also I have a 2x 25 minutes commute by train which are ideal for noodling stuff out. Right now I'm mindlessly scrolling Instagram or 9gag and listening to music. When I get home I fire up Ableton. But that could be so much more integrated.
  11. I even have a physical amp from Fender and a bass amp from Ampeg. I also have a bass guitar and an acoustic. I was going to get a hollowbody too because it looks cool. But I talked myself out of it, seeing that I can't even play the ones I already have with any proficiency. 😅
  12. I have Gojira, Cory Wong and Rabae. And I don't even play guitar. The're that good! (well I do, I'm taking lessons but more than the Smoke on the water riff is too much to ask at this moment).
  13. Actually I have them double MIDI'd up 😝. With the exception of the Lyra-8 which doesn't have MIDI, they are all connected with USB. Setting the channel is quite easy, most manuals give you info on how to do that. But I also have them connected through MIDI if I ever want to go dawless. I have a couple of MIDI Thru boxes which has a 1 in/4 out connection. You can daisy chain 3 of those. That is connected to my Arturia Keystep.
  14. https://riemannkollektion.com/collections/bundles 40% off everything. Use code at checkout: HALLOWEEN-23 Ends October 31.
  15. Free sample pack from Function Loops. https://www.functionloops.com/vocal-philosophy-with-lokka.html
  16. Thanks! The secret is I don't keep up. I always forget to do something I wanted to do. Especially when I combine it with doing drums and arrangement too. In my latest jam I forgot to add some drums from the Drumbrute Impact until the last 2 minutes or so. But if I don't tell, no-one is the wiser. Regarding the cablemanagement, imagine again haha 🤣. I just put a black piece of cloth in front of it. But I do keep them labeled.
  17. I had a nice groove going. Then I played in most parts live. Not much quantization, I just kept most 'as is'. The result is something a bit different from my usual stuff, but still cool I think. I'm also trying out to do more MIDI stuff to do live to get some more movement and change going. It's still a process.
  18. I don't know, from the looks of it it's just a compressor.
  19. Also fun fact, I couldn't quickly figure out how to keep the joystick on 'hold' on the Malevolent. So I just dangled the patchcables on the joystick which weighted it down and kept it in place. I'm sure there is a more elegant solution, but this worked 🤣
  20. Hey wow that is awesome! And as intended. I don't need a big venue or a large following. Just people hanging out enjoying the music. It's what I do with friends. Oh boy do I have some, not sharable, and perhaps some alcohol induced recordings.
  21. Thanks for clearing it up. That's what I get for these 'trust me bro' sources.
  22. Wow I'm seeing a lot of plugins that are 29,99. Who would have thought.
  23. I don't think so. Cameron has done a lot of UVI marketing in the past and seems to be their go to guy right now. Benn is just another on that list I guess. He seems to be going at it from a different angle.
