  1. This is a terrific song! You played and produced it very well - it deserves a big audience. I like your style of songwriting, and look forward to hearing your next song!

    Speakers

In many audio converters, you can mute the outputs to the speakers in the UI; this shouldn't affect the headphone output in most converters. ASIO has nothing to do with this, as I use ASIO. Also, if your computer is plugged into any kind of mixer, this can be done manually on the mixer, typically.
  3. What a sad song - I don't know how Eric pulled it off. This version is a success! I could feel and hear the ethos in your voice, which is the key to this song. A+
  4. From the atmospheric piano at the beginning to the end, this was a joyride! As usual, your lyrics evoke images in my mind, and I feel like I know this person. Your reverb is very nice and makes your voice sound very spacious. Well done, mate! Can't wait for the next song
  5. Fantastic song, John! The arrangement is very sophisticated, and your vocal was right there on the money. Yes, your bass track is way cool, though I wonder if some of your lines could be an octave lower for great frequency range. It might ruin the vibe, but I'm just curious. Anyway, chalk another hit up.
  6. Barry and Ross, I'll address your comments together, as they both are related to my vocal treatment. You both may be on to something. My goal was to not do the obvious: after experimenting with various reverbs and delays, I thought that a drier vox on the verses would lift the lyrics better. The vocal does get wetter as the song goes along, but it is fairly dry in the beginning. This is one of those artistic decisions that I never know is correct or not until somebody listens and comments. I appreciate your time and detailed comments! I may wake up tomorrow and fully agree with you both. Tom, thank you for your encouraging words! I can't tell you how much a pleasure it is when someone as talented as Markno reaches out to me and offers his help! A big thumbs up to you et al.
  7. The subject of this song and video are dear to my heart. I can't think of a better song to deliver the message! Everything if top notch all the way which shows that you have some very talented friends and a lot of skill and patience. Hope to hear more from you! Btw, there used to be a guy named Mark Andes that played bass in Spirit - coincidence?
  8. God, I want to book this choir! You tell your lovely wife that her voice continues to get better, like fine wine. This is one of the most entertaining productions I've heard in a while. You're a terrific producer, Daryl!
  9. Nice cover! I like it when one reinvents a song and makes it their own. The mix sounds very smooth and warm on my KRK's - a true, vintage vibe. Keep 'em coming!
  10. Thank you so much for your encouraging words! Keep up the good work, Makke!

As I said in another post, you are a versatile songwriter, and this tune shows you are a songwriter for all seasons. This is a seriously cool song! Encore!!
  12. This is fabulous! The two of you know how to do a cover song, and you chose well. This song is not easy to play or sing, but you did more than just pull it off, you excelled. The mix is terrific, and the master is better. Congrats, Mark!
  13. Fascinating! Thanks for your detailed answer, Rex! I'll be watching your videos when I can get to them, I've already bookmarked the site. I, too, master from the get-go. I thing that's the way of the world these days. Take care and keep up the good work!
  14. I love the pulsating beat and cool vocal f/x of this song! At first, I thought that all but the bass and lead vocal should come up to support those parts, but I realized that the whole song could come up in the mastering process, as it seems low on my monitors. That being said, I really like the crazy vibe of this song, and the fact that this is a little out-of-the-box in nature. I'll be listening for more!
  15. Great tune, David! It seems that you have a handle on the few issues in this song, so let me just compliment you on everything else. This arrangement can stand on its own because your vocal and melody carry this. Can't wait to hear more.
  16. I agree that you have one of the best voices going, and you know how to write a song that lets your vocal shine! I've heard you do songs in other genres so I know how versatile you are. I love the photo of you with all that classic analogue gear, but I have a question - what is your recording chain these days? Your vocals are so consistent that I imagine you could sing through anything and sound great, but you do know how to engineer and produce.

This is a very chill song with a sophisticated melody and a beautiful vocal to pull it off. I really like the scale or mode that you used because it is unexpected, and I like that in a song. I like everything you've put up, so keep it up!
  18. Wow! This song has tight curves, acceleration, and all the thrills of racing, minus the pit stop! I have to go change my oil...

    Monday

I agree with everyone- short, but sweet! I have just one question - what do you plug your guitar into?
  20. I'm still breathing... I'd like to hear more like this because experimentation is fun!! Terrific
  21. Very nice piece of music, Ross! I don't know why they wouldn't use this, as it has highs and lows, drama, and all the elements that filmmakers like. Thanks for sharing.

    Starfield

This is one of the best instrumentals I've heard in a long time! You're the equivalent of a chess master, at this point. Congrats, Bjorn!!
  23. Nice one, Steve! Having played in cover bands for years, I've gone in both directions, the faithful reproduction, and rearranging a song to put my own spin on it. I like either way of doing a cover, just as long as it has soul. Sometimes one can do a faithful reproduction and still own the song. This version of Daniel made me nostalgic, for some reason, therefor it resonates with me. I do agree that a little more beef on your vocal wouldn't hurt, but this is a winner for me.
  24. There's a lot to like about this song. The mix weaves cool textures with interesting melodies and chord changes. You made very good use of the SI drums which gives this song a nice groove all the way through. The guitar and harmonica tracks are just right. The only thing that stands out to me is that the mix is quite warm; to use a cooking analogy, the sauce is very buttery. A db or two boost around 10k may or may not enhance this. Still, it is good as is!
