  1. I just bumped the thread upstairs as I have heard nothing more on this issue from Softube or cakewalk support. Safe mode will recover your projects and remove the offending modules from the Prochannel, They appear to behave correctly in the FX bin but of course you have lost all your settings.
  2. Just a bump on this. I have not received any further replies from Softube support and was wondering if anyone else had heard anything. I can confirm that projects can be opened in safe mode and the offending Prochannel modules removed. It should then be possible to replace the Prochannel versions with VSTs in the FX bin. A bit of a pain if you mix was well advanced.
  3. A +1 for Realivox "The Ladies" its streets ahead of anything else I have tried.
  4. The newish "Tangled Dreams" for sure and there is also a Vangelis Tribute II now. Probably good to try the demo sounds in Analog Lab to get an idea of each pack, I have found sometimes the less obvious ones are useful outside the intended genre.
  5. Arturia presets are 50% off. Go to the store in Analog Lab. There is some stuff here! There is an earlier thread discounts on the synths which mentioned this in passing in one of the replies.
  6. Did you just run the latest Softube update? It's broken their Prochannel modules. See this thread and the one linked in it.
  7. Yes they do and in the Riffer function you specify which string to use for each note and any MIDI created will reflect this on multiple channels. It is also possible to switch modes to a single channel where string selection is automatic.
  8. Their response lists Sonar as supported, but not Cakewalk by Bandlab. As Scook has confirmed the problem exists in Platinum maybe there is a glimmer of hope. I dont think I have any existing projects with TSAR-1R in the Prochannel (I do use it a bit inside Modular) so I may have dodged the bullet of not having critical projects open, but this could be serious if you use Softube Prochannel modules a lot. I started a thread upstairs.
  9. There is a thread in the deals forum Basically since the most recent Softube update prochannel modules are not functioning correctly and attempting to open a project with them in will cause Cakewalk to crash to the desktop. I reported this to Softube who say in their initial response. I have now contacted Cakewalk support with a crash dump in case they can help. For the time being I would recommend against updating Softube products if yo use them in the Pro Channel. Also I would tend to use the VST versions in the FX bin until some clarification or solution is found. Do Softube support Cakewalk by Bandlab particularly with regard to Prochannel? Their list mentions Sonar but scook says the problem also occurs in Platinum. It maybe the particular service person at Softube was unaware of the link between Sonar and Cakewalk?
  10. I wonder how well one will be able to use the MIDI generated with other bass libraries/VSTis. Amplesound's Riffer is pretty much tied to their products and I don't see a way around it. As well as note on and off, pitch bend and other standard MIDI commands key switches, midi channel and velocity control articulations, string selection, fretting position etc. are generated. There is no standard for this so the MIDI wont sound right on another instrument. If this is the case with EZBass Toontrack's basses will need to be very good and varied as its unlikely one will be able to use other libraries like I usually do with EZKeys. I do look forward to seeing what this can do. Riffer has an awful lot going for it but its also difficult to move beyond the preset patterns, maybe its too complex or requires a deep knowledge of bass playing to effectively make decisions on string selection and write a convincing part?
  11. My initial reply from Softube does not sound too promising basically saying they do not support Cakewalk and seems to miss the point it's the pro channel modules that are broken. The regular VST versions work just fine. I will respond later and I may open a ticket with Bandlab too as contact between the companies may help.
  12. Since the update I have developed a strong liking for Polysix which I didn't really warm to in the past and had not started up in a while.
  13. I passed, I do not feel I fall in the target group. Good luck to those that are participating.
  14. I have been in the creative doldrums, even before lock-down began, so I was pleased when this piece came together. Hopefully I can divert my attentions to my main project now.
  15. I have not yet installed the early access and am on 2020.01 build 28. I have no issues with the saturation knob in pro channel. I made a project with three tracks and inserted an instance of TSAR-1R on each track and on the Master Bus. In all cases the GUI for TSAR-1R was hidden behind the consul module and it could not be adjusted. The project saved OK but it crashes Cakewalk to the desktop when reloading. I don't have any other Softube pro-channel modules but It would appear its not related to the early release versions of 2020.04
  16. Update - I have just been playing around with the step sequencer and its a lot of fun even in the basic patch I setup. It fulfills the role of a quick and easy to tune sequencer that was previously missing in Modular, you can certainly do TR303 type sequences and a whole lot more too.
  17. Run Softube Central to update for free. This sequencer can be used for TR303 type sequences with ties and slurs. There also a new module for sale Currently on a intro price of 29 Euros going to 39 later. https://www.softube.com/vermona-random-rhythm#/
  18. For me installation of the upgrades was really easy, download a smallish file, unzip and run the appropriate installer. Job done, no reauthorization. The only thing that had me scratching my head was finding the utility menus to change the GUI size each synth is different so referring to documentation was required !
  19. I nearly bought a second hand MonoPoly in the early 80s, it was several weeks wages and prudence got the better of me.
  20. Might be what I hoped Amplesound's riffer would be... We will see.
  21. I have successfully updated the 4 synths I have. First impressions are M1 has not changed a great deal apart for the sizable GIU, Wave Station has some browswe improvements. Mono Poly and particularly Poly Six have significant improvements to preset browsing and added effects. I am pretty happy with the update and its reminded me how good they sound, I had not used them in a while but that will change .
  22. Given that Modo Bass is the only part of this I don't have already, or I am not that interested in I will pass, by the time you add VAT which almost cancels out the jam points.
  23. I just installed it. It's rather weird but looks interesting, certainly one of those synths that does not conform to the usual paradigms.
  24. Ms Amy Birks featuring Steve Hackett on guitar.
