  1. typed from phone which also apparently thinks "toontrack" is a dumb name and can't be right and thus auto corrected it to actual words such as too and track.
  2. Yes EZKeys1 was on sale for a fraction of the normal price a number of times years ago. That said who knows here as it seems like too track dropped the approach over the last few years.
  3. I think it is fair to assume that if one has to setup a subscription model because a one time payment is too cost prohibitive for some then the cost of the product over the life of the subscription is also too high. $5/month for a year is what Reaper costs to own outright though they don't seem to need to create a sub to get there. (and yes, I bought lifetime updates under previous ownership) While I appreciate the move to vector graphics, sad to hear the themes we have will not translate and that options to "port" and customize will be close to non-existent. The custom theme I use is what I've grown to love (though I'll be blunt that most custom themes are unusable to me and a complete eyesore at best sometimes).
  4. I wonder about this though: slightly improve the efficiency of the CPU usage a few of the plugins in the collection are real hogs there, wonder if there is any meaningful improvement on Windows
  5. Ahh yes, as an owner of all those - I'd only recommend them if they were included in a free DAW. None are worth paying for given other options on the market. Even the newest of the bunch were dated out of the gate due to a lack of resizable UI though otherwise look nice visually on the old architecture. (Adaptive Limiter and LP-64). Even the 3rd party stuff is dated now where it used to feel like a real bonus (Breverb and the cut down Rmatrix). it isn't' that any of these things are bad, but you having listed a plugin I put on a project in 4 years. The pandemic dramatically changed the average users' collection as well as the market. I'll say it again if they were valuable and sought after they could have gone the "the daw is free" but you can buy our plugins route - which would in theory attract both Cakewalk users and all other DAWs. Maybe the biggest question here is will our current custom themes import into this new high rez version? If not, I won't be happy. 😇
  6. I must have missed it, haven't seen anyone really asking for more included plugins at this point. We all have way too many already. I had lifetime updates (which gave me all the stuff bandlab has and free users don't get) and basically don't use any of the stock stuff anymore other than XLN drums which they would be foolish to try to include again by paying XLN premiums
  7. I don't care about the staff view, just like the vast majority of users. But I do agree that the preview screen of what is included for instruments and effects suggests things we already have (at least the previous paid users) and frankly wouldn't expect them to package anything I really need and I think they realize that stuff isn't worth paying for otherwise we would be in a the DAW is free but you can buy instruments and effects ala carte which is what was hinted at years ago when they didn't port some of the effects for free users like adaptive limiter, etc.
  8. Without all the money "we" spent on Sonar to get it to the mature product it was, bandlab wouldn't have a product to aquire. And the short lived lifetime update purchases I have to imagine added value to to business beyond the minor development work during that period. I appreciate the dev work the bandlab team has done over the last 5 years but the product is by and large more similar than it is dissimilar. Hoping the pricing model is a non issue when they announce it. Time will tell.
  9. I like a number of Lindell products but this one looks like it is missing some key knobs for a "modern" channel strip. Granted the original didn't have things like a HP and LP, and so forth but it seems like pretty easy stuff to add and not feel like one is compromising a model of analog gear.
  10. I have a couple "boutique" versions that have options like removing the tone stack that makes them sound much better. Not sure about the marketing here with a reference to Hendrix. Most think he was given a prototype right before he passed and it likely never made it to a show or real album release. This associating his sound with the pedal is a major reach. Would have a lot more traction mentioning either Gilmour or Corgan who have undeniable connections to using variations of the circuit. As for not having trouble with the hardware ones, at this point I can struggle finding a 9v or extra isolated transformer power supply these things need .
  11. I'm not sure If want an exhaustive one as there is so much junk out there but you can find some gems in here There is also a similar thread about free instruments.
  12. The issue is I think most of us on the forum already got it for free. I know I have it and it isn't the kind of thing I would have paid for.
  13. Pretty easy #1 or #2 IMO. CPU heavy but also great.
  14. It is a bit different here because de-reverb or de-verb is a category of effect type. It describes what the effect does. It isn't some random name. iZotope already has a tool called de-reverb. De-reverb is a generic term, IMO and it would seem others agree: https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/production-expert-1/5-of-the-most-popular-de-reverb-plugins-take-our-listening-test
  15. Without even trying it Id assume the WAVES one does a better job based on the clarityvx vocal tech. But the question is it worth dealing with the company again to find out. I'm not so sure. Given the different name honestly SPL would not have a case at all . iZotope has far more grounds to call waves into question given how close the name is there.
  16. They have given this away countless times. Not sure where this one came from but anyone with the public summer 20 code could grab it too.
  17. One of only a few PA plugins I demo'd and didn't purchase, but I've read good things about it.
  18. Need is always questionable. I bought this before the super discount and I had LE. What this plugin does that LE doesn't is to auto set settings based on the dynamic range you specify you want the track to be in. It is pretty unique in that approach. Some others will auto set things for you, but by the dynamic range you want is sort of something different. For that I thought it was fun to experiment with. Wish I waited for this $9 sale though.
  19. Scaler is the only plugin I can think of that I paid $50 or more for without any remorse at all. Many of the others there are some doubts about if it was worth it or redundant to what I already had.
  20. I added full versions of upright and classic electrics during the pre order. I already had another full classic electric 1 in my account. They only gave me a EZKeys 2 upgrade for the upright. So only 2 authorizations, despite putting two new products in my account during the upgrade period. Will have to see how good the customer support is
  21. You would think other companies would stear clear of "M" such and such since Melda named every plugin they have made under that naming convention.
  22. It is because you never had an issue. Many of us have. Once what you paid for stops working and they ask you to pay just as much as you paid for the plugins in the first place for support to use them again you might understand the plight. Or if you ever have multiple computers with limited USB slots or not wanting to spend time transferring and connecting to the internet. Or your shell scanner takes an extra 10 minutes when you need to add plugins to your folder. Or maybe it will be when they force you into a sub without a perpetual path. There are more reasons to complain than not to with Waves given other options on the market .
  23. Not sure, but I'm certainly on it. They send emails multiple times a week as it is a revolving sales door. Deals are posted here frequently enough. I'd only sign up if you want to know about the free webinars they host related to their own plugins.
  24. And just like everyone else here (myself included), their opinion is worthless since they have never actually used what they purchased. 😁
  25. I've only been waiting for it for over a year....
