  1. Hey Larry - I see a price of $139. Was the $39 price a typo?
  2. It seems like Ableton's Session View. I only wish Ableton copied Studio One's Arranger feature - that would be sweet!
  3. I wondered the same thing because I have XO. I picked up Atlas 2 today. Here's a video that does a pretty impressive job of comparing them:
  4. They have a utility called Fractal Bot. You download the system banks and use Fractal Bot to send them to the Axe. It sounds more complicated than it is. I just went through this preparing my Axe FX II to be sold.
  5. Just an update - the developer was very responsive and got the issue corrected. He said he recently rolled out a new shopping site and was working out the kinks. All is good. 👍
  6. I have a Fractal Axe FX III Turbo that I recently upgraded to from a Axe FX II. All of Fractal's units are amazing pieces of gear. I've completely organized my studio around the Fractal now and I no longer mic amps. And these are so much FUN! Just plug in in a guitar and start cycling through presets - you're bound to find something interesting and inspiring to play with. As for tips - - Pay attention to your gain-staging just as you would in real-life. - I recommend a foot pedal or two so you can run Wah, volume, whammy, etc. You can literally assign the pedal to any parameter - so want to run the repeats of a delay from the pedal ala Andy Summers? Easypeasy. - I use SPDIF to record into my Apollo 8x. I send clock out from the UAD to the Fractal on AES. This seems to make it all rock solid and I'm just not a fan of using USB audio from anything so I don't use it from the Fractal. I also sent one output of of dry signal from the Fractal to an input on the Apollo. That way I can always record a dry signal while also recording the stereo outs via SPDIF. - Download Axe Edit - the software for editing your Fractal. It's well done and extremely powerful. - Enjoy the 100% recall-ability of the Fractal and ignore the whiners that tell you digital will never be as good as analog.
  7. I just bought this. Only received links for five of the six libraries (seems to be missing Dream Dimensions 2). Contacting their support and will post what I find here.
  8. I’ve built entire songs around something I’ve done with Signal. I have all their products and Signal is still my favorite. 👍
  9. I’m tempted but would rather pay $70.
  10. I’m not comfortable until everyone else is whining about the heat. About 92 is my temp 👍
  11. We’re moving to The Villages. My parents have been there about six years now and the hurricanes lose steam by the time the reach them. A birdcage over the pool is a must though - not a fan of hanging out with critters like scorpions or poisonous spiders. 😎
  12. I'd LOVE to live on the ocean or at least a canal but my wife wants absolutely NOTHING to do with hurricanes... I've lost that battle - we will be inland.
  13. Hi Ed! I’m very fortunate in that money is not a concern. However, what you describe sounds a hell of a lot like a work to me. 🤣 we are currently looking for a house in Florida. I’ve been in Nebraska all my life and I’m done with winters. Once we get settled I’ll think more about a long term thing such as this. It would be great to see you get to do something like this in your future! ❤️
  14. Thanks Tom! There is a lot of truth to your statement. I suffered a lot from not feeling good enough and was never sure I’d get there - I just kept picking myself up when I’d fail and doing what I thought was best. I’m proud to have gotten over the finish line and doing it while taking good care of my employees and customers. So excited to get into my music when this adjustment period fades!
  15. Are you doing something you enjoy on those two days?
  16. I’ve been looking for a better term - I might use this one! 😎👍
  17. Oh my that sounds like it was a rough experience!
  18. A lot of people say that, and I get it. This is one reason I am uncomfortable word the word retirement - it carries baggage and specific connotations. However, I had an incredible career - nothing left undone there. Now I want to enjoy the freedom of having time and money to pursue what interests me. Perhaps I'll start a second career someday - perhaps not. For now, I've a world to see and lots of hobbies to pursue...
  19. I know many of you are already there so I thought I'd share. I just sold our company and got to walk away - I turn 54 next week. This is an adjustment for sure, and I look forward to making lots and lots of music when I get settled. I've always wanted to shred, so I'll be grinding on my guitar chops and I also learning to play the hand pan; it's going to be awesome to have the time and energy to really dig deep into the things that excite me! Feels really weird to use the word "retired" though.
  20. I think that's pretty cool. 👍 Get's me excited for my Jerry Jones Sitar guitar that arrives on Monday.
  21. I think if they avoided reusing the name Sonar there’d be no kurfuffle. I think using the name again was a misstep that created unnecessary controversy. I wish them luck and success. ps I’m a lifetime Sonar guy but I moved on when all that went down originally. I still use Sonar to open old projects but not to create new ones. I don’t care if they honor the lifetime license or not.
  22. I took professional vocal lessons and still can't sign. I'm not tone-deaf and can play a decent level of guitar - but for some reason singing just isn't something I've been able to learn. So no, not simpler for me. However, hiring other singers to sing for me (or asking friends) is simpler. That's what I did on this track: Believe! https://open.spotify.com/track/3Qy72nlMl1F0cp1MmUOvJT Oh, and Bapu was kind enough to play bass for me on that one! THANK YOU BAPU! I absolutely love that bass tone. So, friends, hired guns, drum vsts, AI - whatever tools it takes to get the final result. 👍
  23. That is EXACTLY how I look at it Babu. I got so excited about MidJourney that I wanted to share it with my wife. After much build up, I asked her to describe a scene that she wanted to see. Anything she could imagine. She said "imagine a white and brown dog with floppy ears". We have a white and brown dog with floppy ears. For contrast, the first thing I asked it to draw involved purple mushrooms on the moon at night under thunderstorm clouds. We both have access to this amazing tool, but her brain isn't wired for the creativity to get the most out of it. I am totally wired that way. I look forward to AI music creation getting better and better. I will use those tools, along with drum VSTs, Cthuhlu, Scaler 2, various VST instruments, UAD plugins, my guitar, etc. etc. etc. to hopefully create better music than I ever dreamed possible. HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT???
