  1. Hard to tell without getting in there, but here are some things I think would be good to address. 1 - Drums sound like there might be too much compression and lack clarity... maybe too much reverb or reverb not tailored to the drums 2 - The bass sometimes fights the kick drum (although this may be writing and not mixing) This makes it hard to drive the song forward. 3 - Piano might need a little high end boost or lower range rolloff. 4 - The guitars might be washing out the other parts a little - I am listening with headphones and the panning may be too much. When the guitars go away, a lot of the issues go away. 5 - Overall I think there might be too much reverb. 6 - The vocals are slightly overpowered by the instruments and again may need less reverb. Don't take it the wrong way - These are only my thoughts and who knows whether I am right or not! I am being overly critical but wanted to give you real feedback. Steve
  2. Thanks for stopping by. TZ is a high point of my New Year's Eve, which for at least the last decade involved me staying home with the fam, drinking champagne appropriately, watching Twilight Zone and sometimes the 3 Stooges, watching how crazy people are these days around midnight, wondering when Anderson Cooper will start looking like Guy Lombardo and falling asleep shortly after midnight strikes!
  3. Thank so much! You can mention the name if you want - ok with me LOL!
  4. I made it to the end and had to leave more praise. I'm more 70s than 80s but those references are nothing more than relevant genius. I love this.
  5. Great lyrics! Fantastic mix. Interesting ideas. Love it.
  6. Very cool that you guys put your heads together to come up with this nice song. Great work.
  7. Nice groove. Well done.
  8. Nice - it calms me down!
  9. Always nice to go back and snag the old ones and drag them into the future!
  10. Pretty cool - I could hear a strong solid simple drum beat and bass coming in around 2:05 as the main focus for a while in my head to propel things along.
  11. Good song, but the mix needs some work I think.
  12. I saw a couple of the newer Twilight Zone episodes this New Year - I didn't know that they had produced a new season. They are in black and white which is cool and I thought they were well done. I guess they have been around since 2020 but I hadn't heard about it.
  13. Same atmosphere was part of the Boston sound in the 70's - A great time! Thanks for sharing.
  14. The verb on the vox is perfect, as is the EQ. Drums sound great, perfect tone, nice beat.
  15. Very cool vibe music. For my taste I would put a little more high end on the master, but to each his own - it just might be my aging ears - it sounds great anyway. I love the snare sound you got and the panning of the toms.
  16. Really cool. It's got a touch of Elvis Costello and Randy Newman in there. Nice and tight. And interesting! Did you post this on Bandlab? If not, you should!
  17. Very cool - I like the switching between major and minor, and the untuned notes bouncing against each other.
  18. Thanks Tom - I didn't put in the very last scene from the episode. I debated it but figured it would be better not to. It definitely shows my fan worship to Steely Dan LOL . I have to go back and review They Might Be Giants - somebody else mentioned them for another song I did. I really appreciate your feedback - comments like this make it all worthwhile. Steve
  19. Haha - Maybe A Yellowstone song would be fun - Beth would play a key part, as would Jamie LOL. The wife and I watch it - up to this year it has always been easy, but for some reason (which she knows and I don't) we have to record it first and watch it later. That's fine by me - I think we still have to watch commercials but it's OK. Thanks for providing more detail!
  20. I know how you feel about those ads - glad that is over. Paramount+ is what Yellowstone is on, isn't it? Steve
