  1. The iZotope installer does tell you what needs updating, but then just launches a generic installer for each product anyway, meaning you need to remember which components you installed, where you installed them, etc. Not ideal. Native Access is better at smoothly updating the software, when it works. Which isn't always - sometimes it gets confused and thinks it needs to reinstall dependencies every time I launch it. And once it just lost my Replika authorization entirely and I had to get support to send me a magic script which reset the registry for me so that a reinstall would work. In fairness the market is very competitive and I can see why they need to consolidate brands like this. No doubt they don't have many spare resources to make installers better, but concentrating all the efforts on just one is probably going to help. A little.
  2. In other words - the golden handcuff term has just expired, and he's finally free! This was the plan all along, but he had to stay for a year to get the most out of it. I think it does make sense to get out of the business now, if someone is paying you to do it. The market is pretty saturated, stock plugins are getting more competitive every year, and we have a new generation of professionals who have much less interest in models of analogue hardware.
  3. It looks like you took away the ability to sort by the price reduction percentage. Can you bring that back?
  4. I get worried about programs that have to release new feature versions every 2 years or so - it often means adding new features to bring in new customers which sometimes leave old features gathering dust and bug fixes being spread too thinly. But hey, maybe they'll invent something game-changing. Of the 'reasonable' requests I have of a new version, I just want some bugs fixed. A big one for me is that the project view/mastering doesn't support gapless plugin operation, for example. Certain song automations are unreliable in project mode too, even though not having to export a mixdown for each song is touted as a key feature for mastering projects. And 'transform to audio' (like Freeze in Cakewalk parlance) would sometimes just chop off audio tails. Etc. Of the 'unreasonable' requests, I'd love a proper importer for Cakewalk projects...
  5. Oof.... this is the first update to Komplete Standard in years where I don't see anything that's worth the money for me. As someone who doesn't make dance/EDM/hip-hop, Komplete has always been dominated by things I'll never use, but the things I do use made it worthwhile - Guitar Rig, Absynth, Massive, Retro Machines, the various pianos, etc. I don't see anything in that vein this time. Throwing in Ozone will be a nice touch for many people but I already own Ozone 8 and I'll probably get a better deal on an update direct from Izotope, especially if I also want updates to Neutron, Nectar, etc.
