  1. USA models aren't all the same. You can play the same model of a Strat or LP and find differences and I'm guitar stupid and I only go by feel.
  2. People are ditching Prime. In the sub pandemic era many subs have almost doubled. Amazon now wants you to pay more for commercial free content.
  3. Fallout 1st is a sub , not 76. I play it everyday. Te sub price is no value at all unlike other developers where a sub allows you to play different games.
  4. I kinda get it. Software is becoming more of a chore these days. Too many jump through the hoops just to use something. I have all of these installation managers and as you get older if you don't have a universal password for all of them you forget. Password manager don't always work for them and then you have to create a spreadsheet for your passwords. The days of offline DAWs are almost over. More is less but very few seem to have that wisdom.
  5. Here? I can't find it. Maybe a link would help. Full installer is 500mb, update is 50mb.
  6. Someone decided to make this about semantics? I looked at the photo. You would get this message if you do not have the program installed, So they only available file was the update. An official full installer has already been discussed. He had to solve it by someone giving him the full version. I think
  7. It is not solved. Not everyone has a friend to provide a full installation. Odd in your case on a new system that it only downloaded the update.
  8. Hoarders ignore that. I don't like the player. Hard to find anything to match that sound for $29. I'm all about licensing. I'm not a fan of the machine limit proprietary player. This is why I still prefer Kontakt. You can install them on every machine in the house. For me to use Soundpaint and Spitfire I would have to log out and log in for a 3rd machine. EW and VSL have iLok and I've been experimenting with iLok Cloud. I bought Musio because they don't do that machine limit. I'm also seeing a trend of avoiding bigger is better. How many of these sales are getting ignored because it involves spending more money on drive space? I think most of these bargains are aimed at the casual user who is not into mic positions, how are the legato, or have a clue about string articulations. On other forums I come across those who might want some orchestra sound in a production but not full blown. Then we throw out the pricey ones and mention things way over their head. I probably have these. Sad that it gets to the point of knowing. I'm actually enjoying the smaller 8dio string libraries with those longer names. Lack of space is why I don't have the EW library. I can't if I buy it with the drive can you use that instead of moving it. ......
  9. I'm putting it all on a 1TB external. BTW it does move the files to that location. They got a lot right in this.
  10. Nothing.........now NI that's a different story. As for Musio folders are not categorized by library. It's a bunch of folders with numbers and letters. That's whats wrong with it. I probably have more folders in Music than in all of Komplete. It's not like you can archive those and know what they are.
  11. I bought Albion legacy. Now I know why some developers want to ditch Kontakt. The gui is tiny inside Konakt. Whaddaya know another library I don't need. I have yet to still audition Musio, 8dio libraries. If I were only brilliant enough to only use them to make youtube videos and that's their only use.
  12. Using their own player - no increasing costs of a developed library. The rise of hobbyists means more sales. At the turn of the century many libraries were 4 figures and fewer samplers. If you could download them today they seem quite primitive.
  13. That's actually decent coffee. I have ground, whole bean, and K-Cups. As for store brands Kroger is terrible. Safeway/Albertson's Signature Select is very good. I drink coffee straight. We have a store in my area where they sell expired items. I've gotten Starbucks and Pete's whole bean for under $5. My favorite coffee that is hard to get was Kenya AA. With the price of food these days I don't do elite coffee.
  14. Like making a clusterfrack out of their installation? Being like NI now brings a sense of fear. BTW I like Musio. If they want to be like NI they should have a much cleaner file system look at the folders of the Musio library.
  15. He is most likely using a virtual drive. If we download Bandlab it is only the update an not the full installer.
  16. IS there a direct link to download the full Cakewalk installer instead of the update for archiving? The app only downloads the update. I'm sure it's not the full installer. Tired of these download apps.
  17. I wonder if the same thing exists for mounting SSDs. I'd so love that.
  18. This is starting to turn me off to where using DAW software is a chore. I don't mind it for gaming.
  19. Do I need this if I have Ozone? I don't need another proprietary installer.
  20. RX 10 Standard is $99 at Izotope.
  21. Reminds me of the NI never used vouchers. Hmmmm now we know where that came from.
  22. I don't if anything has changed with nvme but you loose a SATA port for each one unless that has changed. I'm not a fan of putting all of my eggs in one basket with storage. I prefer more 2TB SSD drives than say a large 8TB. I still install SATAs because it's easier. But when you have 3 systems adding SSDs gets expensive, Since I got the Musio deal I bought a portable nvme just for it. There are docks that once you pay for them do you have any money left for drives? I speak from a budget perspective. I have all of my SATA ports used up. I still keep HDDs and a DVD drive. It's nice to put Komplete or IK Total Studio on a SSD drive but you have to assess what are you going to use from them? I start to think of drive management much differently these days. nvme are quite fast but my life isn't dependent on it and a SATA SSD works for me as internal drives. As for portable I'll go with nvme.
  23. I'll go with Jim's theory as a tax write off. As for Pro Tools if you wanna work with the big boys you better know how to use it, They are the industry standard and if they ever consider the make believe world of Linux they and Steinberg will set the stage. I can't overlook the "lets try to make a Linux version and let's see how far we can put people into a sub. Developing for 3 platforms will only create **** development and let's not forget the endless Linux distros. Read Jim's post over and over again.
