I have no idea which is the right forum to use. I don't think many others do either. I get that the Q and A is meant to ask questions but so is this forum. Personally I don't see a need for the q & a forum. If it were a frequently ask questions forum that was a look up sort of thing where no input was available then I could see a use for that. The mods could add good questions that have been well answered from this forum. However mine is to go along with however it is meant to be.

Yes it can. It did for some with the Oct update that is why it was pulled.

This is the thing that drives people crazy about Windows 10. Backing up is not an answer. The best way is to try to have a system disk and data disks. This wont stop Windows from reseting users setups but will prevent Windows from overwriting your important files or deleting them.

I've heard that often Mudgel yet have have never had trouble updating. If I took that advice I would never update due to always being in the middle of a project.

If you have an Nvidia GPU it may be installing audio drivers too. Delete or disable them.

I'm not sure why the question. But I have had no problems with Cakewalk. It works.

I don't know enough about it to have an opinion. What little I do know is it is the mixing equivalent of Ozone for tracks. I am not sure why one needs it. With Cakewalk and all the PC modules plus the linear-phase plugins give Cakewalk a lot of mastering mixing power. I picked upped Hawkeye that I like very much . If one uses Insight 2 this is in my view a better Insight.

This has gone on long enough. People have tried to bring you up to date have even gone back and provided threads from the old forum that explained what happen and how. You have every right to ask a question and get an answer. That has been done. There is no reason for this thread to go on. The one thing that to me crosses the line is personal attacks. Please refrain from getting personal with another member. I think it it time to call it a day on this thread. I wont lock it now but I will if this keeps up.

I have always given Ozone respect. It is a great tool well made and with an outstanding GUI. My favorite version was 5 but 8 advanced is growing on me.

It sounds to me like a huge deal. If you want us to look at this you need to give a little bit of info about your system. OS, Audio interface, Memory amount, CPU and GPU. The more information the better. What steps have you tried so far. Is there a time when this crashing wasn't happening?

It seems every time I use an assistant to DL something I often have to update the assistant before I can update the item. I think some of it is due to security. It may not have anything to do with security but I do believe they do need to know for sure who is downloading.

There is a ton of stuff on Ozone and mastering in general. I'm not going to reinvent the wheel on a forum. I have written a lot myself on the old forum on this subject. What I have seen and come to know is Ozone is a very fine plugin. Yet, it can ruin a mix very easily. Also, not everything needs Ozone or mastering. I think if the user has an notion of what they want in the sound, how they want it to sound; and from that get a mix as close to it as they can they are better off in the long run. It really doesn't matter what is used to get there. The Izotope Mastering Guide is a good place to start. In the end I said what I said because I believe it really is true and it boils down to that point.

When you type in the "control panel" it will show in Cortana as a program icon. Drag that to your desktop or pin it to your taskbar and start page. This will give you easy access.
