  1. PM me with your Email and I will send a bunch to you.
  2. That is an absurd point. No one can hear 22.05 kHz nor is it important to music. Why not ask for showing a 50 kHz wave when 44.1 is meant to only go to 20 kHz. Its just as pointless. Believe what ever you want.
  3. I f that were true it would sound like a square wave. Have you ever looked at a 20 kHz wave form on an oscilloscope that was after it was converted to digital? It is not a square wave.
  4. According to your logic 20kHz can not be reproduced with a sample rate of 44.1. We know it is. How do you explain that?
  5. As you know I was an early adopter of X1. I at first look did not like it. It was only after I read the manual and did a lot of research did I come to "get it". I saw X1 as a new beginning that would lead to a great GUI. Admittedly X1 wa not as complete 8.5 was but it had a lot of room to grow. After they got the PC (Pro Channel) squared away it became a great DAW. With Platinum we were in a time of hectic improvements and additions. By this time everything that had been in 8.5 was also in Sonar. With the change in OS and going 64 bit. Sonar was very much already able to take advantage of the new technology. I run Windows 10 Pro updated when ever it wants to. Is everything perfect? No but it is far and away better than it used to be. Win 10 runs rings around previous Windows. Bandlab's Cakewalk runs rings around all the past Sonar versions. They have made a massive effort to fix bugs and make it a very stable DAW. I think your post Cactus is one of the best on this subject because it speaks to those who are hesitant to embrace Cakewalk.
  6. I don't know what is truly available. However it may be that 32 bit DACs are here. https://www.themasterswitch.com/best-dacs I have read that Yamaha has a 32 bit audio interface. I have not checked it out. Nor can I swear such a thing is on offer. Its just what I have read.
  7. I will answer a question if I know the answer and no else has gotten to it first. I like it when a poster has tried to find the answer but couldn't. That is not essential but it goes a long way in having a positive view of the poster. I also remember a few that admitted they didn't want to read the manual. I do remember starting out and at that time there were no forums anywhere. In those days I bought books and read them. What I have observed through the years is people are eager to help when a new poster asks a question with a bit of humility. Its not a requirement but it helps. Questions asked require time for someone to answer and it helps a lot if a thank you is offered. One of the biggest advantages of a forum is if an answer is wrong it will be corrected quickly. I like to think we each have each others back and will come in to make sure no misinformation is left unchallenged. Even though I have a good knowledge of Sonar/Cakewalk I learn something nearly everyday. I have learned to be a bit more diplomatic through the years. I'm still working on that. The whole notion of people gathering in a place to have an interchange of ideas and answer questions and encourage others is fundamentally a wonderful idea. The fact that it is only as far away as ones computer screen is a huge advantage. It should be stated that this place is not a requirement. It has been provided by Bandlab to do all the above. We as members of this forum need to keep in mind this place is a gift freely given for our benefit. We need to keep it clean and unsullied.
  8. I too record at 24 bits and 44.1 sample rate. However, there are now audio interfaces that can record at 32 bits FP. If you have one of these I would record at 32 bits.
  9. Thanks for the heads up Larry.
  10. I thought about all the people that would like a high quality DAW and simply could not afford one. I am a very long time user of Sonar and now Cakewalk. I paid for every upgrade version. I am proud that my favorite DAW is still available and anyone can afford it. In a big way its something I can get behind and support. I too thank the Bandlab team. I also thank my fellow users for keeping the faith and staying the course. They too have been an important part of the success of the new and better Cakewalk by Bandlab.
  11. Actually we are on certain ground. Have you been unable to download Cakewalk? Are you using it? Is it working ? If all the answers are yes. That would mean to me that speculating with no basis to do so is unproductive.
  12. I think we can complain when we can no longer open Cakewalk. Until then the notion that we are renting, leasing or somehow not in control of getting Cakewalk and using it; we should simply stop speculating and make music. To me when they said it is free I have no reason to think otherwise. No one else does either.
  13. To me the definition of stem is a group of audio tracks. This has always meant to me a bus was involved. If on the other hand one wants to copy all the tracks as independent tracks the way I do it is select all tracks and don't mixdown. I export them. I also use broadcast wave files as the files output. This with ensure everything lines up in another DAW.
  14. Yes here. https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk/whats-new
  15. John as a rule doesn't walk into a bar. I stumble in.
  16. In the Aria player you need to assign an out put for each instrument slot. It is done by changing the default 1/2 out to the one you want. Each slot has a number in the lower right. Just to the left of that is the output. It is going to be 1/2 until you change it. That number to the right is the MIDI channel. The 1/2 is out 1 and 2.

    AAF support

OMFI (Open Media Framework Interchange), or OMF for short, and AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) are both professional file formats intended to interchange session information between various audio and video applications.
  18. I see no reason not to implement this. So count me as +1
  19. For low latency audio one needs a good audio device with drivers that can give you low latency. The built in audio on most computers i.e. Realtek were never meant to do low latency audio. Though later Realtek chips and drivers do include ASIO. I have not bothered to see how well they preform. An inexpensive audio device with the right specs can be had for around $100 or less. I do not recommend ASIO4all but some have reported usable results with it.
  20. If you don't overwrite the original MIDI file you can open it in Cakewalk and delete the tracks you don't want and export that with a different name. Don't save the edited file and the original will be preserved. Or if you want simply save it with a different name too. Cakewalk, Sonar and Pro Audio are non destructive DAWs.
  21. Have you tried closing the top and then press play and then stop? You might try pushing down on the cassette gently.
