Garritan Personal Orch multi out bounce in CbB
John replied to Phoen1xPJ's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
In the Aria player you need to assign an out put for each instrument slot. It is done by changing the default 1/2 out to the one you want. Each slot has a number in the lower right. Just to the left of that is the output. It is going to be 1/2 until you change it. That number to the right is the MIDI channel. The 1/2 is out 1 and 2. -
OMFI (Open Media Framework Interchange), or OMF for short, and AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) are both professional file formats intended to interchange session information between various audio and video applications.

I see no reason not to implement this. So count me as +1

For low latency audio one needs a good audio device with drivers that can give you low latency. The built in audio on most computers i.e. Realtek were never meant to do low latency audio. Though later Realtek chips and drivers do include ASIO. I have not bothered to see how well they preform. An inexpensive audio device with the right specs can be had for around $100 or less. I do not recommend ASIO4all but some have reported usable results with it.

Save as MIDI file Format 0 only one of many midi tracks?
John replied to bitman's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If you don't overwrite the original MIDI file you can open it in Cakewalk and delete the tracks you don't want and export that with a different name. Don't save the edited file and the original will be preserved. Or if you want simply save it with a different name too. Cakewalk, Sonar and Pro Audio are non destructive DAWs. -
Have you tried closing the top and then press play and then stop? You might try pushing down on the cassette gently.

(RESOLVED) Plug-in Manager painfully slow since 2018.11 update
John replied to Ben Chase's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Heck, I didn't know that one could do all that the plugin manager could do in the browser. Cool. -
Should we have a section for "Techniques" like "Deals" have?

I'm sorry you feel that way, Iva. -
What happened to the old Cakewalk forum?
John replied to Jesse Jost's topic in Frequently Asked Questions
Yep, thats pretty clear. I'll be sad to see it go but life goes on. -

John replied to Øyvind Skald's topic in The Coffee House
No it doesn't, Still we need to think of others here. Not everyone is an adult. Also why is it being placed in a thread about having a techniques forum? That is called off topic. It is not considered good forum conduct. Please read the Community Guidelines https://blog.bandlab.com/community-guidelines/. -

Please remember this forum is open to everyone. Young and old alike. We don't need to go off topic in order to tell a suspect joke. -
I really like these plugins. The GT Analyzer is very easy to read. I like the look too. Yes it took me some redoing and re-redoing to get it set in its proper place. Alls well that ends well. I agree they are a great addition to the tools. I really like the clean look.

The keybinding for the PRV {Piano Roll View) is Alt-3. If you have MIDI data on a track you can double click on it to get to the PRV.

Cakewalk needs to support AAF. The Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) is a multimedia file format that allows you to exchange digital media and metadata between different systems and applications across multiple platforms. Metadata include fades, automation, and processing information. Cubase supports it so does Studio One. Please support it.

I think it was very useful on the old forum. I'm not sure if the Bandlab people want to duplicate the old forum. However, things are still new and it may be that a little time is needed to sort things out. -
Welcome Starrise. I think you are asking questions with a title that is saying it is a Q&A. That implies you have answers. Or it could be you are asking about the forum. I take it you want to know how people are using Bandlab with Cakewalk? I am not sure exactly what is being asked.

It could be very well be a bug. Or it could be an issue with how USB is handled by the OS. I use a master switch that turns on everything that is hooked up to the computer and Cakewalk. Some things don't need to be on at start. I have an amp that I turn on when I need it. All connected gear has to be on before I start Cakewalk.

Before I start any DAW I turn on all my hardware and let all the drivers load and settle in. Then I open my DAW.

Its a new DAW, new day and a new year. We have a lot to be thankful for. I hope everyone has a great new year.

Is It Helpful to Have Separate General and Q&A Forums?
John replied to henkejs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
My view is it will most likely be two competing places to view much the same stuff. -
Is It Helpful to Have Separate General and Q&A Forums?
John replied to henkejs's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It seems to me that a forum of this sort is all about asking questions. It is Q&A. -
Just as I said he was getting to the meaning of the question.

Absolutely right, Panning defeats the whole idea of binaural. I think Graig is answering to what is the underlying question.
