  1. With the highest respect to you. Yes, I'm aware its not the same and I think that is the reason why the request for this to be added to SOURCE CATEGORY is so high. Due to the obvious routing limitations with buses, which AUX tracks dont have. In EDM you sometimes end up with 8 AUX tracks within the project just for a single source. This then becomes a problem when the client request these trackouts of these effects, cause sometimes you have to sidechain a flanger on top of a phaser from an FX VSTi that does not have an sidechain input. Personally, for me its not a problem. I know my way around the routing system in Cakewalk to get exactly what i want. The only thing is, its more work - that's it.
  2. Thanks for the update. I'm gona have to disagree on the sidechain with AUX tracks. This adds more work to it, by adding an extra track. For this to work as shown in my video, Aux tracks needs to be added to SOURCE CATEGORY instead of with the tracks. I believe it is not what the member requested? With buses you just get the signal source.

  4. I believe Cakewalk dont use Silverlight anymore as it has been discontinued in 2011/12? due to the poor restrictions Microsoft brought? Anyway . . . Well, then I guess the problem is with screensets? Have you tried saving your screensets with a workspace. I have 3 different workspaces (with each different layout) running on the same template. So "MAYBE" the screensets are runned with workspaces too?
  5. Really great answers you're getting, but i believe not one of them answer your question. So i'm gona try an be short and clear with this. The first thing before you understand how this works - is to be able to identify the sound (character) it adds per module, which is fairly subtle. Once you can identify this, the rest will become really noticeable. Reason: The more you use this on each channel, the more you will hear this effect in the project. It sometimes helps with your peaks, it smooth out your dynamics | OR | it can add to your dynamics. Another example would be: If you have it cracked up +3db on every channel in a project that consist of 40 Tracks - distortion will be really noticeable. It can either sweeten or ruin the project, so use it sparingly and wisely to shape your Drums, Instruments and Audio Files. Make a mental note of "less is more" with this.
  6. I believe it's in the first Video attached. 😂 In all fairness: I believe why I don't have a problem with this - it's because of my default template and workplace? I constantly make changes to them and save it internally and externally, but this works without any of the issues you're bringing to light. My template and workspace are saved with floating windows (obviously not visible or docked in the multidock and with only the browser, synth rack and inspector as floating) so I guess it reads them as "temporary" docked windows in the videos?
  7. No you can't. Cause I've tried this for years. I dont mix while I record, or compose. I do my mixing after everything is layed out. So like I said: If you have 80 tracks, it will create the new bouced track on Track 81.
  8. This obeys all my commands this side. If I undock the synth or browser and drag it to where I want to to be, it stays there until I move it. Irrespective if I close the project and reopen later. Cakewalk and its gremlins.
  9. Yeah. There's way cheaper versions too. Although, i'm only familiar with the one in the previous link. I don't own one personally, but I do work on one every second week or so. It is so precise, easy and so comfortable to work with. The studio I do work for, has been using the same one over 4/5years now. Dont aim for the "slimblade" one. I think it will be a little uncomfortable for you, or not. Its will be best if you go test them in store somewhere. You also get the ORBIT one Orbit Trackball You also get the Spacemouse 3Dconnexion Spacemouse The third one would be the DeLux Ergonomic Wireless mouse. Also: Ergonomic vertical mouse. All of them within the CAD realm, so it should be comfortable and friendly on the wrist.

  12. You might want to look at the Kensington Expert Trackball too. It's in almost every studio today.
  13. Ah! Finally solved this. Cakewalk reads them as one clip. This is expected, seeing that it's multiple recording takes in a loop, on one track, in the same region. Basically, they're in a "matrix." So this means if you make a cut to one - you make the cut to all. To avoid this: unfortunately, you have to separate them into independent tracks do your editing and drag them back. The downside to this is, if you have 8 takes, and you want to edit take 3 - you'll have to drag down T8, T7, T6 until you get to T3 - separate it, do your edit and drag them back on top of each other if you prefer them that way and delete all those empty tracks. I would just keep them separated and place them this way in a folder. Personally, I keep every track in its own space. I dont find the folder skeem that much useful other than for "Space" in the Track View. 60 tracks, stay's 60 tracks in the console view.

  15. Sound on Sound. Store takes in a single track. Reuse existing lane, unless overlap. New takes on top. Do not group tracks. Pretty sure it's the default setting. I can't remember ever changing it.
  16. 😂 OMW! It is the most ANNOYING! thing about Cakewalk. I hate that docking system with every cell known to mankind. It's just stupid. Just reading about it boils me up 😂😂 What ever made Gibson think it's a good feature?
  17. Hold the ALT button down, move the mouse to the clip section where you want to do the cut (you should then see a little scissor appear) and just left click to split the clip and drag your selection down. Cuts.mp4

  19. Like I said: That happens to me rarely, but it is known to me. Just not like as in your Image. The T7 (Take 7) you see here in the video (small short clip) Thats one note. I wanted to do 8 takes, but decided not to during this recording. So thats the 1st note of the melody. T1 you see here (the straight line) is me waiting to count in the metronome. Sample 2.mp4
  20. Can you ask a moderator to move this to the request forum to make this a request? I would like to vote on this. There are times when I just want to bounce something in place too and end up having to drag the bounced clip from Track 80 to Track 14.

  22. Your reference clips (Take 1) Why do they look like groove clips? I always record in loop mode for various reasons - starting from lip edits to takes for comping. Sometimes the recorded take would get cut/sliced (in the loop recorded mode) and i really don't know why, because 70% of the time it never happens. Same thing happens when i do edits in the PRV and when returning back to the TV, I will often notice the clip is sliced on the section it was worked on. Obviously its easy fixable with a bounce. If your answer is YES (edit groove clip) to my starting question - there's a reasonable answer to it. Because it's an edit groove clip: Cakewalk identify the reference take as two clips/files in one take and tries to project the second recorded take as such (might be wrong.) If your answer is NO: Then i don't know. Mine shows up as a normal slice clip and not as a sliced loop clip - as how it is in your attached image. I'll try to reproduce your scenario with some ideas.
