Someone talk me in or out of it

Paulo already addressed the 2nd option. For the 1st option, just check Simeon's channel...

BTW, if you have Kontakt Full there is another Fazioli sample library at https://vstbuzz.com/store/silk-fazioli-concert-grand-kontakt/ (it doesn't have all the details and choices as the VI Labs but it's 24Bit /96kHz with up to 76 Velocity Layers for $15 minus any reward $$ you may have at vstbuzz)

Does the world really need YATE?

So many emulations and yet what they emulate is what I used to hate about "cassette tape sound" (dropouts, wow&flutter, head misalignment) but they do not provide an easy way to emulate the one "simple trick" I miss that resulted in nice "air" and dynamics (to my teenager ears):

    * Record a CrO2 cassette tape with CrO2 Bias and pre-emphasis, and with Dolby-B encoding on

    * Play back with FeO2 Bias and pre-emphasis, without any Dolby decoding

  3. @Reid Rosefelt I don't know, it's not an area I purchase from and I haven't been tracking it. Thinking about Magix and how sales rotate every week or two I'd be surprised if they don't go on sale sooner or later

There are some fx currently on sale but they're either expensive (large) or very specific (small and possibly not what you're interested in)

    https://www.producerplanet.com/us/article/winter-sounds-1892/

    https://www.producerplanet.com/us/article/russia-2018-world-cup-sound-fx-collection-3102/

    https://www.producerplanet.com/us/article/christmas-sounds-4008/

    https://www.producerplanet.com/us/search/?salesOnly=true&area=audio&query=Box II&category=250

  4. This time the discount is just 30% off but it covers pretty much every Magix-labeled soundpool and soundpool bundle (not collections).

If you are interested in recently released soundpools (Blues Rock, Homecoming, Nostalgia Drive, etc) this may be a good time to get them, as the sales that have larger discounts may not include them

This sale ends on Sunday, June 6th (they typically end at some time in the afternoon/early evening in the US, I'd guess they are designed to end at midnight or early a.m. in Germany)

    https://www.producerplanet.com/us/search/?area=audio&query=&salesOnly=true&category=250&label[]=magix

  5.  ☢️☢️☢️From the description:

Strix Instruments are here not only to give you the experience of playing the soviet synthesizer but to immerse you into the actual atmosphere of the '80s. To do that, Strix Instruments went to the Chernobyl exclusion zone - the only place on Earth that doomed forever for 1986. Exploring the radioactive streets and buildings, Strix Instruments collected some special Impulse Responses collection for Convolution Reverb.

  6. Voucher code MEMORIAL-4999

Code is only valid once (1x) per user

Applicable to any individual plugin except the following:
bx_console SSL 9000J, bx_limiter True Peak, AMEK EQ200, Bettermaker EQ232D, Shadow Hills Class A, dearVR PRO, dearVR MONITOR, Lindell 50 Series, Neold BIG AL, Black Box HG-2MS, Unfiltered Audio SILO, Gig Performer, and ALL Bundles.

Offer ends on May 31, 11:59 PM, California Time / PST

    https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products.html

It looks like the the monthly loyalty vouchers may be overlapping with the first day of the sale (I couldn't confirm it because I already used up mine, but expiration is supposed to be 5/29). $49.99 is not bad if it's possible to stack it with a $25 discount

  7. Interesting licensing options:

Of course, you can use all generated phrases and melodies in your own productions. Whether you do a commercial release, write songs together with friends, or produce a track for another person: As long as you use the generated MIDIs as part of a musical composition, everything is fine.

If you want to distribute the generated files as an own bundle (e.g. if you want to create a commercial or free MIDI pack), you will need to buy a HouseEngine Pro license. The Pro version also contains a MIDI mass-exporter that will make it easy for you to create hundreds of files within seconds.

    Kontakt is still $400

Just in case someone interested is not yet aware of the "deal routemap" for Kontakt

    a) Find some library that doesn't require full Kontakt (if you don't already have one) e.g., https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/04/27/free-kontakt-libraries/ lists some free ones, or you could find find some paid library that you're interested in (e.g., from audioplugindeals, vstbuzz, etc) and includes the Kontakt player license.

    b) After registration at NI you become eligible for cross-grade pricing $249

    c) Use a NI voucher, e.g., the current $25 Voucher code from the iZotope promo

$224 when not on sale ($125 if 50%off sale, no vouchers during sales)

  10. In case someone is interested, this deal came with "checkout aisle" deals for Aurora Choir and 2nd deal for Lyrical Vocal Phrases at base price (add Dyonisus Piano to to cart, start checkout, if interested also in Lyrical Vocal Phrases,  instead of completing checkout go back to cart)

Note: I think these deal are general and not personalized but I don't know for certain.

To those who upgraded from Studio 4 to 5, did you find the update worth the price and what specifically do you feel makes it worth it?

    Pro Tools integration

E.g., Suppose that you have Melodyne Studio 4 and don't want to upgrade to the Melodyne Essential 5 available in your Avid account because you'd lose all the "Studio" features. If you try to use Pro Tools "Audio to Midi" it will fail because Melodyne 5 is not installed

  12. The waves plugins I keep going back to are

Yes, there are other plugins that do similar tasks but the ones above are the easiest for me to quickly find the settings that I want without much effort

  13. Particularly interesting given the upgrade policy:

    https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021575659-Do-I-get-a-free-Reason-12-Upgrade-

If you have bought and registered one of the following products:

    Reason 11

    Reason 11 Upgrade

    Reason 11 Suite

    Reason 11 Suite Upgrade

    Reason 11 Upgrade for Intro/Lite

on or after May 1st 2021 you will automatically receive a free (grace-period) Reason 12 Upgrade upon product release date (September 1st 2021).

  14. For reference, here is the "small print" for the "all plugins".

$29.99 pricing offer does not apply to the following individually sold plugins:

    Abbey Road Studio 3

    B360 Ambisonics Encoder

    OVox Vocal ReSynthesis

    TRACT System Calibration

    Vocal Bender
