  1. In case anyone is interested, and missed IK's June offer for newsletter subscribers, and is not already planning on getting it in the VI group buy... https://www.falkemedia-shop.de/sound/beat/beat-09/2020?number=beat092020 There are a few other goodies as well, and interesting articles about Roland, Elektron & Focal products
  2. For those intending to crossgrade: do it early and don't wait until the end of the sale, because the process takes a few days. I did a crossgrade to HALion 6 during a past sale, on the last day of the sale. I received the approval after the sale was over and the shop was back to the original price. After a few emails back and forth the solution was to purchase the approved crossgrade at full price, email the receipt to the support person and wait for a partial refund. They did honor the deal, but temporarily paying full price wasn't that comfortable. BTW: Any rumors of a HALion 7? given Steinberg's upgrade policies it may be worth it to wait before activating
  3. The link I posted is for perpetual, 1-year renewal for support & upgrades Avid raised prices heavily ($199 currently). This may be "old stock" from before that increase but it still works (I did purchase 2 and the codes extended by 2 years the support&upgrade expiration date in my account)
  4. https://www.jrrshop.com/avid-pro-tools-annual-update-plan $88.11 USD with code: FORUM

  6. This is giving me me an error "This coupon has already been applied"
  7. 8. According to the kvr discussion, the site is using an outdated version of TLS and that's what the browsers are reporting on. Which would translate to, it's a "not safe because your communication with the server is not that difficult to eavesdrop on" Since you would pay with paypal, your financial info should be ok (because paypal takes over at that point and the encryption no longer depends on hgsounds). But the password for your account with HGSounds could be eavesdropped on. Make sure you use a unique password that you don't use anywhere else. (note: I'm trying to help but I'm not here to convince anyone. If what I'm saying sounds like gobbledygook or still unreliable, just skip the purchase)

  10. Got a response from Christoph at Ujam support: The 3 to 4 adds DANDY to your Virtual Bassists Bundle. No matter if it is a version 1 or 2 bundle. It does not upgrade your other Bassists. This you can do with the 3 to 3 upgrade
  11. The "3 to 4 bundle" is $79 I am still on v1, I wonder if "3 to 4" includes the v1 to v2 upgrades (the "normal" upgrade was called 3 to 3 and doesn't seem to be available anymore)
  12. Use promo code STARS before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, July 29 and upgrade to Finale v26 for $79.
  13. Welcome back and hopefully the family emergency is getting better/already better. I think the JRR Shop tech people made the right call. If there is ever a good time to take the site down for maintenance, it is when you are away (but now they better hurry up).
  14. https://www.vocaloid.com/en/news/vocaloid5-2nd-anniversary-sale/ $191 for standard, $306 for premium, etc 15% doesn't sound like a big discount but I don't think it goes much on sale (please correct me if I'm wrong...)

  23. Lol, the demo video does an awesome job of reminding me of everything I absolutely hated about cassettes... In my teenage days tape cassettes could "improve" sound by using them as compressor/eq effects when setting different bias and emphasis when recording and when playing back (e.g., record with CrO2 Bias and Dolby-B pre-emphasis, play back with Fe bias and no de-emphasis). Unfortunately only very few cassette emulations allow for this.
  24. SUMMER coupon not applicable to upgrades ☹️
