  1. The recent thread regarding "who uses Cakewalk" was interesting to me, as I've been in the market for awhile for a secondary DAW.  I started with (cough) Sonar For Life (/cough), and still feel a little jaded about that.  I went with Cubase when SPLAT went under, and am very pleased with it.  I'm not a DAW collector (I'm a synth collector) (well, and string library collector).  I would, however, like to get a secondary DAW.  To me, Cakewalk/Bandlab and Studio One (two other popular choices) are very similar to what I have already in Cubase - I've been looking at something radically different.   I'm not really interested in Ableton, which leaves FL Studio.

I do have a version of Studio One Producer, so I could upgrade for around $100 to the latest, but I actually really like how "different" FL Studio is.   The current deal is the full version for $399 - I've had it in my cart for a few days, and Imagine Line sent me an addition %10 off coupon to entice me to buy.  In cart, it is $359 for the FL Studio All Plugins edition.

Is this my best deal for this?

yeah. that's what I did. ust got rid of all these freebie stuff that i never use. i actually started using IK MixBox more lately.  I just load up one insert of FX and add as needed in it. Works well for what I do. I dont make records at home. It's mostly all singer songwirter demo stuff.  I just need the DAW to load up fast so I can get the stuff down as fast as possible. 123 and we done baby.

Wait, you actually make songs?  I must be in the wrong forum....

OK, well I was thinking of one of the smaller bundles that completes a minor collection with some that you already have. I don't think I would spend that much on Waves.

I've always been a bottom fisher at Waves, with the exception of the Abbey Roads Collection, LOL!

Love me some free plugs, $29 deals! Or bundle upgrades that are only slightly higher! :)

I'm at Horizon now, Mercury is the only place to go for me.

@huskerLook in your Waves account for your bundle upgrade deals. The coupon should be good for those as well in the shopping cart. The upgrades are custom discounted based upon Waves products that you already own.

Also, as Larry has pointed out, you can add multiple coupons in your cart, such as "YNY23" for an extra 10% off!

Yeah, my upgrade to Mercury with all the coupons is $422.  That is as low as I've seen it for me.

Well, the STUPID part is that you can't use on "Sale" items, and almost
NOTHING is on sale...and all overpriced....so it's basically a "Stick" that
you can't even throw for the dog...

About as useful as APD cash...

  6. @cclarry said it best - we're not a forum, we're a family.

I'll always have a fondness for this forum and Sonar users.  Early in 2017, I ended up having some spare time due to my service ending.   I was driving my wife nuts, and she suggested I find an additional hobby (I have several).  I grew up playing piano, and I work in the IT field.   As a music fanatic, I thought I would look into buying a synth and doing some home recording.   I can't express how little I knew about anything (and how much of an obsession it has become for me).   I literally bought a "Home Recording For Dummies" book.  I started reading some forums, but I just found myself so confused about the basics.

I started researching DAWs, and had settled on either Studio One or Reaper.   I posted a few questions in both forums - the Studio One forum was just dead, and the guys in the Reaper forum were just simply jerks.  Same for KVR.  I don't recall how I found out about Sonar, but I do remember being interested in the "Sonar For Life" offer.  I tentatively asked a few questions in the Sonar forum, and I couldn't believe the amount of friendly forum members who pitched in to patiently answer my questions.  Members (like @abacab and @scook  and countless others) were so generous of their time and knowledge, and just went out of their way to educate someone who knew nothing.  That sealed the deal for me - I bought "Sonar For Life" - three months before it went under.   Much like everyone else, I was close to devastated when that happened.   I ended up with Cubase (which I use to this day), but this forum is always my first stop of the day.

The jovial nature of this forum is unique, and the fact that everyone is interested in simply helping each other (instead of tearing each other down) is refreshing.   The world needs a little more kindness, and all of you contribute to that on this forum.

    Thank you.

So 4.1 adds RX9 Standard and I already have RX9 Advanced as part of RX Post Production Suite 6 and it adds another year of Groove3.

I already have everything else in the MPS4.0 Suite. If I don't care for Groove3 what should my motivation be to spend $49?

Buy it and I'll buy the Groove 3 sub from you.

  8. I'm actually a bit disappointed in IK on this rollout.   From the installation issues to the purchasing issues, it is certainly not a customer friendly experience.

I wanted to purchase it (I have some completist tendencies [right @Matthew Sorrels?]) but IK has not made it easy - now support has told me I can't use Jam points to do so.
