  1. Great we've also updated it on the web, so anybody who does an in app install will also get the new installer.
  2. Please try the new installer. It also handles the waves server running issue by force terminating it. PS there is no need to first run the rollback. You can directly run the new installer.
  3. Hi Folks, Thanks to @DeeringAmps I was able to reproduce the issue on his PC remotely. It was indeed a missing dependency. He didn't catch it the first time since he ran the dependency tool on 2020.11 rather than 2021.01. Here is an updated installer for 2021.01 that should fix the problem. Download and run it and please report back if it solves your install issues.
  4. This makes no sense. If the regsvr succeeded then Cakewalk should be able to find the dll. I will PM you and we can follow up with some more troubleshooting.
  5. True, its possible that is hijacking his main outs. If this turns out to be the issue let me know and I will report it to Steinberg.
  6. @ALEXANDER SHUGAYEV Hi we don't have an Apollo inhouse to look at the settings so its harder to see what is expected. 1. Only one of two input is listed (1-st) Cakewalk groups inputs and outputs as stereo pairs in preferences. Its normal to see the input with odd numbers since Cakewalk is showing pairs. You can choose to see the output ports (in the tracks) as mono by checking the show mono outputs box. 2. Main output is absent Most likely the main out is one of the ports listed in your list but named differently? I would try Mon L (Stereo), Line 1L (Stereo) or Aux 1L (Stereo) as the output port and see if that corresponds to the main out. We don't have control over the names that the device exposes. Post a screenshot of what Cubase shows.
  7. @DeeringAmps thanks for sending that. I see the same output on my system so nothing abnormal there. Can you save the attached batch file to any folder on your system such as the root directory C:\ Then open an administrator command prompt by typing "command" into the search box. (right click on the command prompt item and choose run as administrator) When the command prompt opens, navigate to the folder where you saved the batch file by typing: cd c:\ next run the batch file by typing registerauto Let me know what is displayed by the batch file. registerauto.bat
  8. Somehow a dependency that is required is not available on your machine. Most likely one of the VC redistributables has not installed properly and something is missing as a result. You can use this tool to diagnose what is missing. Run it and point it to the file listed CW130Auto.dll and post a screenshot of the results.
  9. Post a screenshot of your audio settings showing the inputs and outputs. Are you using ASIO mode?
  10. Our installer warns you that Win7 is not supported on EVERY update not just the first time. Webview is used for activating Cakewalk from within the app without using BandLab assistant. It is also used for some new upcoming features for BandLab integration. Its here to stay.
  11. @AdK StudiosThanks for checking it out. I don't think it's cpu related. Can you send me a reference project that exhibits this so we can investigate further?
  12. Your first step should be to upgrade to the latest build and try and reproduce it there. 2019.09 is an ancient build.
  13. @rejkmackan can you send a link to a project file that has the problem?
  14. I enjoy that game too. I had someone once call to tell me that my Windows was compromised claiming to be from Microsoft. I said - great I work for Microsoft too. They promptly hung up 😉
  15. We’ll look into it and try and repro it. Thanks.
  16. Im exclusively using edge these days including on an iPad where ironically it generally runs better than Safari.
  17. This is exactly right. If you want to benefit from higher sample rates for plugins or synths you have to use the upsampling feature. You can set the plugins to Upsample on Render and they will automatically be converted only when exporting/bouncing. Increasing the export sample rate won't do much other than upsampling the final output of your mix. So no sonic advantage.
  18. Or worse it could appear to make it better in some very isolated circumstance and hurt performance in other cases. This is how a lot of these myths originated and people blindly follow them. The other more recent thing that is being propagated is that MMCSS should not be set by the DAW and only by the driver. This has led to problems with drivers that are not coded properly to check for error codes. It would be great if the MMCSS documentation could explain the use cases better so that developers don't make mistaken assumptions.
  19. Are you automating a plugin parameter? Also do you see this behavior if you automate another plugin?
  20. I tried it in incognito mode and the page loads fine here. Make sure something in your browser isn't blocking it. Its just a shortlink to the main page so I'm not sure why that wouldn't work for you.
  21. This guide was written by @Pete Brown from Microsoft who is also an active DAW user. I thought I'd post it since it takes a common sense approach to getting the best performance from a PC, rather than some of the stuff out there with outdated nonsense that dates back to the XP days https://aka.ms/Win10AudioTweakGuide
  22. This is what I did as well on the affected PC
