  1. A great playground for the ones who don't need the latest and greatest.
  2. My choice for mixing, too. I've never regretted switching to S1.
  3. Honestly, I do not see a reason to subscribe to manufacturer / shop newsletter as there are forums like the one right here. And on the other hand, I'm still getting stuff which is unsolicited and therefore plainly illegal from some of these nice and sweet fellows. The whole marketing landscape is hostile towards consumers. Simple as that. Let me put it this way: As long as there are philosophies around preaching "if you double your spam from 50000 to 100000 this will likely double your conversions", the behaviour displayed by PA, iZotope, Avid and the likes just feels wrong, and I am happy to filter the stuff and make life harder for my adversaries who want money in the end. Marketing departments are not friends and family. There are, however, some (mainly smaller) companies that have a different, content-centric approach to mailings: dSoniq come to mind, TBProAudio, Hofa, just to name a few.
  4. Sugar Bytes` products seem to be good and interesting and all, but with this pricing policy is a no go for me. Waldorf never appealed to me. I have the feeling they have missed a bus or two.
  5. They may release an update to V2 and charge 80 bucks for it. Hasn't it been this way with another product? Hard pass from me.
  6. I would be interested in how the sounds are delivered. Can they be downloaded in bulk? Or does one end up retrieving single sounds? I mainly work in offline scenarios and have to download them beforehand. Any experiences?
  7. We will see if he will start a small company again and do everything right. Wouldn't be a surprise.
  8. I never fell in love with Ujam products. You get nice sounding results quickly, but they are limited from a certain point.
  9. https://www.audiodeluxe.com/ Plus Deluxe Bucks. One free plugin per customer. Ends March 31st.
  10. These are glorified stock plugins, nothing special.
  11. Not from me. I checked them some time ago and discarded them. Smaller, specialized instruments suit me better. But that's just me.
  12. Great product, never on sale, regular updates, all of them free. https://www.tbproaudio.de/products/dseq Update to V3.9.0 - NEW: show output spectrum - NEW: side-chain gain - UPDATE: accept audio files with extension "aif" - UPDATE: allow input values in the format 0.5k => 500 - UPDATE: DSP/CPU improvements - UPDATE: extended pre-filter range to 10-20kHz - UPDATE: improved plugin activation screen - UPDATE: small GUI fixes - UPDATE: undo/redo optimized for spectrum view changes - FIX: crash with Mac OS Sonoma Arm and Logic/Garageband - FIX: Reason crash after project load if GUI is resized or scaled
  13. Then buy it and have two beloved plugins. But this rises the stress level.
  14. D16 resells for the 60% off sale prices we have now. And like u-he, you are likely to keep them. I will put it this way: Most of what I keep using all the time is on the more expensive side and from well known vendors. If I add up the costs for crap over the last five years, it sums up to Omnisphere twice.
  15. Don't replace a beloved plugin with another one.
  16. I've sold a lot and never had big problems. After years of toying around with hundreds of plugins, I've defined my own standards and cut down my setup. Good choice, I have to say.
  17. U-he or D16 when on sale have excellent resale value. There are others, too.
  18. Try to enter the data a second time. Had this once.
  19. It always gives me a bad feeling to be unable to transfer plugins at all. This is the case with Klevgrand. So I will sit this one out.
  20. Exactly, coffee here, and not only mags, but also lots of real books. My 50th birthday is in a few weeks. Half a century, so I'm really old. Phew, ...
