  1. Great guitar work! This to me sounds like a song that should be driven Hard with the bass and drums. It's very funky. When the timing issues are resolved , I'd grab the faders/pan knobs and just start over on the mix. I believe this song could be Stellar. mark
  2. Great job ! I thought your vocals were Very good on this one. Maybe bring them up a db. I didn't think the lead guitar was shaky at all , but could be mixed back a little and back up at the very ending. I could hear and feel a delay problem , but for me it was the timing of the delay on the Piano instead of the vocals. I really liked the cinematic feel you got here. Enjoyed it .. mark
  3. What an incredibly "beautiful" voice you have. Very stirring and well performed. Love the guitar and tone , I hope to hear more from you .. mark
  4. Hello , Thanks for the listen and suggestions. I made some eq changes smoothing out the bass and lowered some of the high mids reducing some of the piercing freq's. Also added a little plate reverb giving the TTS stuff a little reverb tail. I "think" it's a little better. Thanks ... mark
  5. I've seen this happen on a friends computer that had slow internet. I don't remember the spinning but I do remember it still showed it was downloading. It had already downloaded but the top page didn't clear out. The next step was hiding behind the page. You can do an internet test of your download speed pretty easily if you google it. If it's not in the neighborhood of dial up speeds there is probably something on your pc blocking or slowing it down until it just times out. I'm still on Win 7 and with usually around 70 Mb /sec download speed and can download Bandlab assistant and CbB in 8 min.
  6. @David Sprouse Rachael is an android who thought she was human from the original Blade Runner movie. Even if you're not a syfy fan , it's well worth watching for the music score. This track would make more since knowing the Blade Runner feel. @Wookiee I've already done the pre mastering. That's what I was referring to for suggestions. You wouldn't want to hear the original raw track. The pulsing bass arp would be cool, but the main point of this was to see what I could get out of a single guitar track. @jack c. I'll try a touch of the high pass. Thanks .. mark

Here's a lost song I recently found on an old flash drive . Stereo mix so everything is baked in. I had a nice time doing it. With the exception of some TTS percussive stuff , everything came from a single pass on a Takamine acoustic into a zoom rack mount effects unit . I ended up with a corrupt patch on the unit that didn't want to decay , so I took advantage of it. It was pretty easy to get a "Blade Runner" feel with the synth sounds and overtones , all with the guitar. Any suggestions on the final mastering would be great . Thanks mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/rachael
  8. Rex , I don't know how you're doing it , but what ever you're doing keep it up. You have really been on a roll .. Everything you've posted lately I think is your best work to date and now you just raised the bar. That was perfect. mark
  9. I somehow missed this song first time around. Glad you reposted it with the video. Great job! I loved the texture in your voice , thick and powerful. I especially liked the fade out with the minimal instruments. I believe I would use that part as the main body in an entirely new song. Great job on the video I enjoyed it all .. mark
  10. Got to be your best vocals yet .. Nice and smooth , it's got a little bit of Stephen Bishop "On and On" feel , and a great crooner tone. Fantastic job .. mark
  11. Andrew, I thought that was a Great flowing song with a Great vocal performance. You'll find your editing skills will become as important as your playing skills . There are lots of different ways to get the same results , I'm still doing a lot of cutting and manually moving parts. One thing I wish I had done early on , is to leave myself "way" more room at the end of songs for proper fades if I decided I wanted a longer one. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Enjoyed it mark
  12. I thought that was a wonderful recording , I especially liked the guitar rendition. It sure was nice hearing a live performance with real people in the background. Very impressive .. mark
  13. R.I.P. Richard (Ebb) Kimbrough. Remember his name. We have played together for decades. He was my best friend and a co writer when we were both too old to gig. There is a big hole in my heart .. It's nice to have an "Ebb" folder on my desktop where I can hear his voice. Better let them know while you can .. ms
  14. Douglas , I really liked the song , but there is definitely a tempo problem. It's like there are tempo changes without all the instruments following . Maybe a copy/paste issue here and there. I would solo the drums against a metronome and work from there. I can't seem to be able to tap my finger on my coffee cup and stay in time. (brand new coffee cup) Probably something simple .. Still enjoyed it .. mark
  15. Very nice. I really liked the tone and attack of the guitar. Very pristine. Enjoyed it .. mark
  16. I absolutely Love Tabla. That was some good driving drums /bass and percussion. I thought the break downs were "superb" like coming into the first wah section and the introduction of the different instruments. Fantastic performance and song . You had me with the title alone.. mark
  17. I never mix with headphones and generally Don't like flat headphones (even my Sennheisers), but I'm not getting left out .. "Frank10" code still works , coming soon .. Thanks for the post. mark
  18. Bjorn , I really enjoyed this. I thought it sounded very "cosmic" Your vocals were great , but you sing like a girl .. mark
  19. Fantastic sense of space here. I felt surrounded by this. Loved the walking bass. This was Exceptional from the beginning to the end .. mark
  20. Great job to both of you ! I thought it was a Very clean pro mix and performance. Fantastic vocals also . No crits .. mark
  21. Great job on a great song . You've done a convincing job getting that Beatles sound. Enjoyed it mark
  22. Nelson , Once you both have the same project set up , single tracks can be added to each others project as they are finished. The free version of "We Transfer" will allow up to 2gb file size. No problem with the size of high quality wav files.. If more than one file is uploaded , they are compressed and put in a zipped folder. Both people have a we transfer account , emails are sent when a file is uploaded and downloaded. No other emails or spam. So when your partner uploads a file to you, you retrieve it , put it on your desktop , then import it to a new track in your project. Single files are easier. Nothing to unzip or extract. mark

    Hear my call

Great energy here! Definitely mosh pit material. This was a very nice mix especially on the vocals. mark
  24. The piano and acoustic sounds nice.. I thought the intro was too busy with the lead guitars. Sounded more like a break instead of easing you in to the smooth 1st verse. mark
  25. I really like your vocal vibe on this one , very smooth and relaxing. I wanted to hear more of it. I tried a few times to listen to this , ended up having to go to reverb nation , couldn't get the embedded player to work. Enjoyed the song .. mark
