  1. If you are building a new chimputer, look twice is my advice.
  2. I've just done a track at 48k 24 bit featuring 18 audio tracks, 6 tracks of Scuffham Amps, 2 tracks of EZ Drummer 3, 2 tracks of EZ keys. nice CW reverbs.
  3. Come on folks. Well, I'd tell you why...
  4. May we be nearly as good. RIP
  5. Well, I've been with CW since PA6. The last few years of free-ness has just been amazing. If anything I love it more than ever. I'll certainly pay 200 for a licence. I hope they make that a free for life upgrade like FL Studio is.
  6. LOL! Bapu! Mate, That's the honest truth.
  7. Look. I'm just telling you what I saw. Btw, I can also see other things. For example, I can see immediately - from just your debit card details - what the past has done and what the future probably holds.
  8. OK, clearly not called Super Duper, but it was "everything included"
  9. You look old enough to be able to fix a guitar on your own. Questions seems a bit silly, to be honest. Sorry.
  10. ...upon trying to download Cakewalk on my brand-spanking new machine last Sunday morning. I was sent to a page which asked me which NEW version of SONAR i wished to purchase. I can't remember the prices exactly: Monthly: Can't remember price at all. But there's a monthly thing "Artist" 120€? "Pro" 200€ "Super Duper" 400€ I reckon I caught them testing!
  11. What? Oh man. I loved that guy. I lived in Germany for a few years in the 80's. There was nothing English language anywhere. Just radio BBC World Service, Radio FREE Europe, and an occasional copy of the Herald Tribune. BUT.. for some reason, I inherited a copy of Peewee's Big Adventure IN ENGLISH on video and was given a TV and a VCR. Mates. I loved that movie. It gave me great hope and happiness in bad times.
  12. I'll report back in a few weeks and tell you if it's still working! But so far.. yeah, this is pretty nice. If you know of any other DAW benchmark tests, gimme the link and I'll give them a shot.
  13. I was walking through the Olympic Village, and I saw a chap carrying a very long pole. "A-ha! Excuse me," I said. "Are you a pole vaulter, by any chance?" "No," he replied. "I'm German. But how did you know my name was Walter?"
  14. Hi! Just sparked it up for the first time this morning. Well..! First impressions are it's damn fast! Installed CW and it loads projects like lightening, perfect playback, and nice graphics. Haven't recorded anything yet. I did some online benchmark test and these were the results: https://www.userbenchmark.com PC Status Overall this PC is performing above expectations (75th percentile). This means that out of 100 PCs with exactly the same components, 25 performed better. The overall PC percentile is the average of each of its individual components. Processor With an outstanding single core score, this CPU is the cat's whiskers: It demolishes everyday tasks such as web browsing, office apps and audio/video playback. Additionally this processor can handle typical workstation, and even moderate server workloads. Finally, with a gaming score of 96.1%, this CPU's suitability for 3D gaming is excellent. Graphics 18.6% is a below average 3D score (RTX 2060S = 100%). This GPU can handle older games but it will struggle to render recent games at resolutions greater than 1080p. (Note: general computing tasks don't require 3D graphics) Boot Drive 361% is an exceptional SSD score. This drive is suitable for heavy workstation use, it will facilitate fast boots, responsive applications and allow for fast transfers of multi-gigabyte files. Memory 32GB is enough RAM to run any version of Windows and it's far more than any current game requires. 32GB will also allow for large file and system caches, virtual machine hosting, software development, video editing and batch multimedia processing. OS Version Windows 11 is the most recent version of Windows. System AZW S5 (all builds) Motherboard AZW S5 Memory 23.5 GB free of 32 GB @ 3.2 GHz Display 2560 x 1440 - 32 Bit colors OS Windows 11 BIOS Date 20230329 Uptime 0.1 Days Run Date Jul 29 '23 at 06:32 Run Duration 111 Seconds Background CPU 4%
  15. Yes, ok. That machine could be sensational if it lives up to its spec.
  16. Is it safe to assume that, now in July 2023, all is well with with W11 and the good ship Cakewalk bB? Just ordered this Pocket Rocket for 399 €uropeans. Thx +BR
  17. I see Munch's "Scream" is still much lamented! Was it CWPA 6 ? A great release! Some people went mental about it, however. But the one that really sent people over the edge was the very first Tool Tip splash that opened with the new app: "Pizza goes well with beer." Haha! People left in droves! Someone must've got a rocket, as CWPA 7 was the most boring (and cluttered) release ever. Anyway. BIG THANKS to Bandlab for the free years of this amazing DAW. Can't wait to see new Sonar and Next.
  18. What's he doing with ASIO4ALL? I reckon it's Creative Labs..
  19. Funny. I've just returned to Cakewalk after 5 months of pure frustration with an M1 Mini and a Scarlett 18i20. Surely a very powerful machine with superb performance and graphics, but, oh, what utter nonsense MacOS is! And as for Logic.. Illogic would be more apt. I made the initial move as my trusty old Dell finally gave up after over 10 years' (15, even?) faithful service. The thing that pushed me over to Mac was not being able to find a new PC with a PCI slot. Yes, a PCI slot for my 20-yr-old RME Multiface! Well, that and the reviews the M1 Mac was getting and the pretty unbeatable price. However, about a month ago I saw a used Gigabyte PC with a decent enough spec and - oh man! - two PCI slots, for 70€. I immediately called and ran over to buy it. . Praises be.. finally back home on dear old Cakewalk, which I've been with since CWPA6. I've finished more work this month than I did in 6 using Logic Pro. What a POS! The workflow is an absolute joke with that ridiculous timeline. Just thinking about it now still makes me angry! Don't get me started on assigning key commands, un-naming clips - sorry, "events" (ffs) - or the Mac filing system.. My new/old PC with a 20-year-old Multiface gives me great performance. I got an offer for the Mac and the Scarlett together, so the Scarlett has gone, sadly. That was pretty good I have to say, even if Focusrite Control was a labyrinth. I did try to run Cakewalk on the Mac using Parallels, but it wouldn't install. But, oh my, what did run on that Mac-Parallels-W11 set up was lightning fast: I've never seen anything like it. If they can really make Windows run flawlessly on the M1, I'll buy another Mac immediately. I'm not holding my breath.. Back to the original poster. You're using a soundcard with ASIO4ALL??!! What is it? A Soundblaster?!
