  1. I've downloaded a demo and have started playing with some presets - am I right in thinking this is more like an arpeggiated phrase generator, than a synth (in the traditional sense)? (Don't get me wrong - it's very cool. The UI's just a bit too complex for me to know what I'm looking at)
  2. Decided to download a trial of this... Either they favour Mac users, or Macs have problems downloading files...

    8DIO Choir Sale

But, but... there are six of them : Silka, Insolidus, Lacrimosa, Requiem Pro, Liberis Angelic Choir, The New Studio Sopranos

    CrispyTuner

When I first saw the name of this, I thought it was a guitar tuner 🤣
  5. The marketing team only got a demo version of the library and it only plays audio for one second before it needs restarting?

Mentioned Bottles already a bit earlier 😉 Good point about the try-packs though - guess I was trying to point out some typically unusual instruments that might add a new dimension
  7. Huge fan of Pianoteq, but I couldn't resist getting CineSamples CinePiano when I heard it
  8. I like how there's a message on the website actively encouraging you to use a ad blocker - completely the opposite from most other websites these days
  9. I don't have any of the TH-U series so someone correct me if I'm wrong in thinking: TH-U rigs are like AAS sample packs - if you buy a RIG pack, you can use it in the RIG player included in the pack that was bought (just like if you buy an AAS sample pack, you can use it in the free player); if you have TH-U Full, you can also open your RIG pack in that (just like if you have the full version of Chromaphone, you can play your Chromaphone sample pack in that)

    8DIO Choir Sale

If you can push the boat out a tiny bit more, there are a few instruments at $8, including Supercluster, Windchimes, and Clay Vase

You don't get direct control over the rhythm in which the syllables of the phrases are sung (although they are tempo synced), and it can take a while to open the patches (as is the case with any large library); you can get around the latter by freezing the track once you're happy with it. Also, you'll need the full version of Kontakt. On the plus side, It really is a beautiful sounding choir, and you do get phrases with different syllable counts; the arcs also sound really good in my opinion. Also keep in mind that this would be more suited for quiet/calm/emotional moods, rather than something bombastic. If you add a little something extra during your purchase, you can take advantage of their custom bundle maker promotion: They have a section of $50 and under; there's some quite nice stuff there, but if you're looking for the absolute cheapest, you can get Bottles for $2.
  12. Does anyone have the Angelic Chimes? any opinions?
  13. After dining at a restaurant, a panda discharges a weapon, and walks out. The owner chases after the panda, and asks why it did what it did. The panda pulls out a dictionary and points at the entry for panda: bearlike mammal - eats, shoots and leaves
  14. Could it have something to do with wake-on-lan? Maybe check the Windows Event Viewer to see what time it turns on and see if it could correspond to anything?
  15. When I first saw this, I thought it was a bunch of loops; didn't realise they were one-shots... Does make it more tempting, to use with XO, Playbeat, etc...
  16. It's not much of a discount, but on Time+Space the upgrade from TH-3 is £68.02 (down from £76.99). Not sure if there'll be a bigger discount in future.
  17. Hey Peter - do you mean a new installation manager, something like the Toontrack Product Manager or the iZotope Product Portal?
  18. Anyone know how much disk space the bundle takes up?
  19. This does sound very nice, but I do have to wonder - is having a sampled (real) synth really that much better than using some of the better synth plugins? I know it means you get a real analogue sound, but I'm guessing it also means you lose some tweakability, and that it uses more disk space. Either way, this is a very good deal.
  20. Apparently, their flagship EQ is discounted to $349.99 too. Strange though - I would have thought that anyone who has enough money to buy an EQ plugin for more than $300 wouldn't care if it was $399 or $349.
  21. I thought they used EW's own proprietary Play engine?
  22. hmm... the paid-for ones do seem to be new, and the link Simon posted above still works. Not sure whether over time they'll migrate the other 10 free ones, silently get rid of that page, or both.
  23. Hey @Simeon Amburgey - this is going to be a tough question (especially as the answer is whatever suits the mood being targeted), but out of all of the pianos that you've ever played/reviewed, which one is your favourite?
  24. 14 have been released for free since the KLANG series started; I counted four that were marked as free on the website, though it's possible I missed something.
