Presonus Sphere looks like it's not just a subscription - there are also collaborative features as well (shared project spaces/chat [if I understand correctly]). Do you mean v1, or v2 (i.e. the current version)? It's cool if you think that's garbage too; just that v2 was a fairly big improvement over v1 - some people love it, some people still hate it. Just interested in what someone who's really into guitar amps thinks of v2.

I'm surprised Kenny's computer didn't try to upgrade itself earlier though: build 1511 is the November patch from 2015 - I was under the impression that each patch is only supported for 18 months, which is probably why it updated to 18xx first of all.

I've been thinking about getting some electric guitars, and for me it was a toss up between these, and the Ample Sound ones (when they go on sale). I've got a few Ample Sound acoustics that I like and am thinking that their electrics are pretty much the same (in terms of programmability, etc). The OTS ones sound really great too though. Does anyone have any opinions about the AS vs OTS electric guitars? e.g. is either maybe more programmable/realistic sounding, or maybe is one better at strumming sounds, etc?

From my understanding, S1 is made by some ex-Steinberg employees who had worked on Cubase so they probably know roughly how it works to recreate the best bits of it. However, I would doubt it's exactly the same engine.
