  1. We ALL paid Henry! Any complaint you have is with Henry! BandLab owes you nothing, NOT A GAWD DAM THING! GET OVER IT! Install the new update, evidently it takes care of the annoying “pop up”, and soldier on. IF you are not a CbB user then stay the *F* out of the threads about CbB! t

  2. So the consensus here is I'm probably better off if I just stop wrestling the whole internet and get this thing . Kenny

  3. So we actually see some action that I hope will get this forum back on a positive pathway instead of all the negativity and threatening to switch DAW nonsense lately. The new Cakewalk Product Centre will finally solve a few ongoing issues like offline activation as well as I can see that in the future it will be our go to for updates and future purchases. It would be very very cool if they also add our legacy products here as well! @Jesse Jost ? @Noel Borthwick? I like it. And did any of you recent Nay Sayers notice the release notes for the CbB update. I counted over 50 Bug fixes! They most certainly did not have to do any of this but they did, proving once again that the developer team really does care and listen. OK everybody back to work and please relax and let them finish Sonar in peace and quiet. If it takes another 6 - 12 months that's fine by me.

  4. Not on the official website yet, but a lot of official threads were opened on KVR: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8850307#p8850307 Beta download, draft manual and introduction video included. It's unbelievable this little gem will be completely free of charge.

  5. I had a hard time choosing between AD and EZ but went with EZ3. I really like it, it is quite easy to make a track super quick and very easy to edit the play to what I want, I usually change the kick pattern to suit.

  9. MBitFunMB is a serious tool for extreme distortion lovers. It converts incoming audio into limited fixed-point precision of 1-16 bits per sample and lets you access each bit with several operations and finishes the processing with a low-pass filter. All with up to 6 independent bands, 4 modulators... from light distortion to extreme brutality. Now on sale at 75% off (reg. $53) now just $13.30 USD. Limited time only. https://www.waproduction.com/plugins/view/mbitfunmb

  10. Opened CbB on my "offline" pc this morning. I was greeted with a screen about the new Sonar and a link to learn more about it. At least I'm seeing some movement .. I guess it will be popping up from now on . ?? ms

  15. I think the biggest hurdle for me personally when getting acclimated to Take Lanes was paying attention to the cursor as I was moving around clips. The smart cursor has several actions embedded into it, so zooming in a smidge while learning controls made it much simpler. Pay attention to where you are hovering and what the cursor looks like before taking "action" on clips. Once you force yourself to work through it a few times, it does become a very fast method to work with takes.

  16. Sweet. And now it dawns on me why it’s called Aurora. See the similarity to the word Austrian?
    1 point
  17. In da house! Aurora is a GB or so larger than Austrian, and has 1500 more samples as well as some 200 more presets, according to the info on UVI’s website for both titles. But there’s a lot of processing added as well.

  21. I am not sure if the driver for the iTwo is native ASIO or just an ASIO4ALL variant. The way to test is this. In Cakewalk, select the iTwo’s driver mode in Cakewalk’s audio Preferences. Play a project in Cakewalk. While that project is playing, adjust the Windows volume using the volume control in the Windows taskbar. If the volume does NOT change, then you are using a native ASIO driver. That is because true ASIO bypasses much of the Windows audio subsystem (including Windows level controls). Think of true ASIO as a Batphone to your your audio interface.

  23. Then the Focusrite 4i4. - that has MIDI ports. I believe that the majority of your issues will evaporate if your get an audio interface that comes with native ASIO drivers, and that had 5 pin MIDI ports. Make sure you select the right device in Preferences - Audio - Devices I believe when you select the umc204 in CbB, you might get a message, Asio4all “is known to be incompatible with Cakewalk” If you do stay with the umc204, then consider using WASAPI driver mode. Most folks on here will stay away from anything to do with ASIO4ALL.

  24. i used to do the same thing - record, delete, re-try, multiple full takes then edit tracks etc. then i watched a couple of comping videos which clearly explained it, and the next session - comped it. 12 takes by 2 singers (i.e. 6 each). once you get the hang of skimming through the takes and picking the best one, then on to the next (all key strokes to move and select), it went really fast, like less than 30 minutes. then onto the detailed edits, clip gains, de-essing, pitches etc etc. next project same success and again and again. using the takes and comping tools is my workflow now. last note: Melodyne - once you have the track comped - you can do a lot of the work in Melodyne - tweaking any minute timing and pitch, de-essing a bit, node leveling, cleaning up noises, etc and then rendering.

  25. Personally I would have got a Focusrite 2i2 as it comes with true ASIO drivers. ASIO4ALL are not true ASIO drivers but are only a wrapper. Is it too late to cancel the order?

  26. Looks like the Universal Control is still running . Personally, I would not be deleting files in c:\program files. What I would do go Start run > "appwiz.cpl" and see if there is an older version there that you can remove I am assuming that you have headed to the manufacturer's website and downloaded the latest drivers already so that you can reinstall them.

  31. SMS is actually known as 2SV (two-step verification) which is not the same as 2FA (two factor authentication) which is much more secure, because it uses an app or token, unlike a text message which is easily spoofed. Once you get used to it, 2FA via an app is a breeze but do you really need it for a service like SoundCloud? Debatable. Depends how serious you are about your content I guess, but if the platform has enforced it there isn't much you can do apart from go elsewhere. Should be a given for all financial sites though. Andy

  32. Or make sure your VST paths don't include folders that don't contain VSTs, like \Windows.

  33. Um.... Take a deep breath and relax some. Two Factor Authentication is there to increase security and help protect privacy.

  34. I wouldn't think so... I've looked deeply into creating imprinting into audio files that isn't audible to the human ear and found that to be extremely difficult when getting into the CD quality 44.1k 16 bit formats. Anything that compresses or converts like mp3 will completely mess with the signature. I couldn't wrap my brain around a way to do it without creating your own audio format. Edit: it would be much easier to stuff a song into a BMP file than to stuff a BMP file into a song and it still be usable.

  38. Rex , I love the early 80s vibe this one has especially in the intro. It puts me in mind of great bands like Tears for Fears. As usual .. Fantastic vocals ! As far as adding anything .. I was wanting to here some vocal shadowing after about halfway thru the song on the choruses. LOVE .. (love) IS .. (is) A WONDER .. (wonder). I think it would build the choruses up more as the song progresses. I thought it was also crying out for a lead guitar break @2:55 on top of the present guitar tracks. I Really enjoyed this .. mark

  39. Reaper is not FREE .. its $60. Its trusting people to use the "trial" period and then purchase a license after that. Perpetually using it without paying the $60 thereafter is technically illegal I imagine

  40. This is probably the preferred method to use anytime an FX isn't included in the instrument itself. Melda Production has a number of FX in their free MFreeFXBundle (with both a vibrato and tremolo). Depending on your application, another thing to consider with track FX are ones that are able to sync to the DAW tempo so they will musically fit the piece.

  45. Thank you for your interest in the Cakewalk by BandLab Early Access Program! This program helps us get better real world test coverage from users, in order to improve the reliability and quality of our releases. Our users also get the benefit of trying out the latest Cakewalk updates, with the opportunity to provide helpful feedback prior to an official release. Participation is, of course, 100% optional. If you would like to participate or learn more about the program, please review the following guidelines: Installing Early Access software When an Early Access release is available, a download link will be provided in the announcement topic for a given release. Early Access announcements will be posted in this forum. You install the software as you would an official release, or simply ignore it until it is announced to the public. A download link will be provided in the topic that announces the availability of a given Early Access release Early Access Installers will only update the full previous release version To roll back to the previous release version, you will need to uninstall Cakewalk and reinstall from BandLab Assistant In Cakewalk, Help > Check for update will display previous release build as the latest until final release Cakewalk will present an "Update Available" notification when the final release version becomes available, if Notifications are enabled Sharing feedback Please post any feedback about Early Access builds in the Early Access Program forum, by replying directly to the topic in which the Early Access version is announced. Please do not contact customer support with issues in Early Access releases. Any issues should be exclusively reported by following the instructions noted above. What is Early Access? We release Early Access releases after the product has completed the beta testing phase and we have no outstanding blocking issues. Cakewalk by BandLab has a separate beta program, comprised of members who provide feedback through a variety of perspectives and test scenarios. Beta is also available to dozens of major software and hardware companies. In Early Access releases, all features have been completed and tested. This phase permits us to get extended feedback from a much wider user base and find any system specific issues that may have been missed by beta testing. As such, since there is a small possibility of bugs being found, if you are working under a production deadline we don't recommend using an Early Access release. Of course, we provide a roll back capability for Early Access so it's always possible to go back to the last stable release. Duration of Early Access period We release Early Access builds when we are very close to deploying a new release, typically about a week out, barring any unexpected findings. Thank you! The Bakers
