Did you try updating your graphics driver before you reverted to the previous version?
I believe I have the latest available for my machine . . . But it never hurts to check again . . .
Thanks

I was being serious. A backup has, on many occasions, saved my caboose.
Well thanks for the advice . . . Unfortunately I do not do incremental type backups - I usually clone my drive once a month . . .

Restore from backup.
Yeah that would be nice . . . But no such luck (i.e. no recent backup) I don't know if you are being serious or not.
But for those whom might be experiencing this problem, I contacted XLN support and the provided me with an override file that installs the previous version. Now I have a usable dialog box now. The unfortunate part is that with this file in place I can no longer update past this version. We will see what support will be doing about the problem.

Fuel to the Fire!
Opened the Installer - it updated itself and when it finished, all I had was a transparent dialog box . . . AD2 still works (for now)
Anyone know how to revert back to a previous version?
Just wondering . . .

My take is that they have abandoned screen sets and workspace has replaced them. I haven’t used a screen set in a long time since I set up my workspaces.
I also use the show hid toggles.IF the screen sets are to be abandoned, it would be nice if the bakers would let us know. I myself are aware of workspaces, but don't really use them. If I should be using them in my workflow (due to screens going away or no improvements) - I'd like to know sooner than later.
I guess I will try to spend a little time looking at workspaces. . .

@Syphus - until we support sub-folders, this won't be possible as track templates could themselves contain folders .
In the meantime you'll need insert the track template as normal, then move the tracks into a folder manually.@msmcleod if you mean "folders within folders", that is not what I am referring to - I think one should be able to select a track within a folder, then insert a track template. If you are saying the supporting "sub-folders" would allow this - then cool. Otherwise, I think that being able to "insert" a track template would be very useful.
I know there are ways to do it - I'm thinking that having this function would be nice (unless it is big rewrite of code). Currently you insert the track template, then move to the folder (two steps vs one).
[EDIT] - I re-read your post and I now understand what you are saying (I have tunnel vision sometimes) - inserting a track template with (or using folders) would not work in the current build. But I hope I clarified what I was looking for . . . Hope to see it in the future . . .
Thanks,

You create the track layout you want including it being in a folder and you save that as a template.
That works for creating the folder with the set up you create (to start with), but it is not what I am looking for. But since you mentioned it, perhaps I can do that and load several tracks for working to start an idea. I usually have several going (tracks) before I get to the "one" I think I will try that . . .
Unfortunately, this is not solution that I am seeking.

I don't have the solution, but it appears that it should be doable by the context menu (right-click/pop-up). You can insert a Track template in between tracks within a Folder, but the track template will not be "in" the folder (just in sequence with the other tracks already in the folder). Seems this is either a bug or a feature request.
Thanks, but found that also . . . Not exactly what I was looking for . . . Perhaps what I want to do is not possible. I think it should be

Hello all
I was trying to find if it was possible it insert a track template directly into a folder. Currently I only know adding a track template and then adding it to a folder as two separate actions.
I know that you can "insert a track" into a folder (audio or midi) by selecting a track within a folder and "Right clicking" to do the insert (or add). I looked around and did not see any documentation for this type of action (using a "insert track template").
I did discover that if you wanted the same type of track (such as Guitar using a instrument such as Amplitube), you can select a track within the folder and do a "Duplicate Track" and that will insert into the folder.
So how do I insert a track template directly into a folder? Perhaps I missed something . . .

I have the version 2020.11 (build 099) 64 bit, but now when I launched the program after a long break, I saw notice of an available update. I tried to install it, but once it was ready to go after download I got another message that it's not supported by Windows 7. Is that true that the latest updates won't work in Win 7 anymore at all like the one I have? I remember even the one I have was not "officially" compatible or supported by Windows 7, but practically it was all fine. Is it the same with the latest updates, or is Win7 now completely incompatible?
At some point Cakewalk MAY not be compatible with Windows 7. At this point, the developers do not do any testing on Win 7 so there could be issues now or in the future that could be related to running Cakewalk on the older version of windows.
That being said, the installer will install the latest version on Win 7, but you do so at your own risk. I have not update my OS to Win 10 as of yet and I have not found any major problems with running Cakewalk with Win 7. A minor glitch here and there but nothing that has not been documented in the forums.
If you do run into problems there with all ways be the disclaimer stated about Win 7 not being supported . . . Just say'n . . . So far I still running Win 7 with Cake . . .
And as always, there is usually an installer available to revert to the last (previous) version. Keep in mind if your version is older (like a year for example) there may not be one (last version installer) available. So since you have installed the latest (I believe that is what you indicated), if the next version does not work for you, you could come back to whatever you just installed.
Hope that helps with your question.

If you already read the thread - you might want to revisit it again - I added info related to using the 3.0 USB ports for your Focusrite . . .

Hi John, the Scarlett 2i4 is USB powered, no external power supply. The laptop goes haywire if I accidentally connect via USB.3.0 instead of USB2.0 - no idea why. I'm sure someone on here knows the answer.
I don't know if this is totally related (but I think it is) . . .
I am running a Win 7 laptop. For a long while I was plugging my focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (second gen) into the 3.0 ports of the USB. Every once in a while I would get a BSOD out of the blue that would in some cases, take hours to recover from (really scary). The last time it happened in this configuration, I did a crash analysis and what I found was that the driver for the USB 3.0 was crashing. I looked for a newer version of the driver and there was none (I had a computer repair guy look at it and he could not find one).
So I disabled the 3.0 drivers and only plug into the 2.0 USB ports. I have not had a BSOD in two years since that change . . . Just my story.

How you configured the busses and tracks switch???
Look at this - with the configuration file for Cakewalk this is how the layout is:
https://store.birchwoodstudioandevents.com/Sonar-Overlay (click on the graphic for enlarged view)
You can also find other info on the web. I think that answers you question (hopefully) . If you don't have the "Sonar" overlay, the "Buss" selection is in the "Utility" section (top left button- Utility>Save) and the track switch is next to it on the left (Automation>trim). I think that getting the overlay is the best solution so you don't have to memorize all the substitutions for Cakewalk.
Hope that answers your question.
Just realized you were talking about the X-touch One . . . In that case never mind - my mistake - info is for the X-Touch . . . Sorry. The One does not have a "Buss" button that I know of. One of the reasons I did not start with that model.

Really weird! I tried looking on their site to see if it was mentioned as a normal news item (as in the blog) and not a peep about it. I looks as if there was underground element happening there.
I almost appears that someone has lost their senses.

I'm not familiar with this export process, but I did find this . . . Might mean something.

I could not find anything meaningful about OMF . . . How big is your project - OMFI appears to have a size limitation . . . Won't hurt to check out the link., but note it is old (2007).

so, in re-reviewing this, you save the template source file (with image, copyrights, etc) as "normal" in the "project template folder". this is a .cwp file in the template folder at this point. then rename the file as .cwt. now the template file has the image in the header section of the file (which is what needs to be read from the start screen display) as well as embedded in the file notes.
As I had said, I don't remember the exact process I used to get mine set. But go back and read the threads that discuss this (see my response above) and they might have your answer. I would have to do the research if I was to create another "template" for myself, I'd do a bit more research on this now , but I'm busy with a project that I need to finish.

I don't know the direct answer, but do a search for "Start Screen" (with the quotes) and a bunch of stuff shows up that you will have to sort through. But to get you started:
I know I had the same question once and did solve my problem, but I don't recall what the answer was . . .

With Noel's help we were able to track this down and provide a solution to get it fixed . . . the notes are:
Precursor: I had a internet error a few weeks back and I believe that is what may have cause this to occur since I never had this problem before this. I don't know how I fixed my connection at that time. Also I am running Win 7 (Still!), although I don't think that was the problem since this has been working all along.
Problem: When clicking on "Check for Updates" I received this message:
The reason was because I was missing TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols in WinHTTP. Per Noel, I could not run a "Secure Https" connection out of Cakewalk.
Solution( in this case):
Went to this page:
and applied the "Easy Fix" This made my Cakewalk able to connect and check for updates:
So Setting to Solved and big thanks to Noel for helping me out. Bakers are the best!

So what does "Full version only" mean? And I went to your link above for "EZDrummer and Free Expansion" - I did not see any mention of the expansion?
Does it come with the free EZX?
Thanks,
