  1. I have that - I updated from Sonar 8.5 LE that got with my Roland APro 800 keyboard. I was quite happy with that until CbB came along so could go back if needed and it still works with Win 11. I'd prefer to upgrade to the new Sonar but it will only be worth it for me if it is under £100 as I am a hobbyist and only use on occasion
  2. @Noel Borthwick This is a consideration that should be taken into account in the new Sonar build to make it as accessible as possible - hopefully you already have it covered ?
  3. yeah that was really sad - I think I managed to rescue all my stuff I'd bought through T&S when I moved to my new PC and was quite relieved it was all registered at the software companies concerned. Though I'll never be sure......
  4. Afraid so - and there's much worse happening! A corrupt and uncaring Government who see lining their pockets more important than looking after people - and don't mention Brexit!
  5. Morricone's score for The Mission is my favourite. Love the film too even though I'm an atheist!
  6. Moving Hearts were tremendous. I have their live in Dublin DVD
  7. I'm a big fan of pipes of all kinds - I especially like bands featuring the Breton pipes! I've watched the Transatlantic Sessions on TV and also the live stream of it that they did from Celtic Connections. Great stuff - they recently repeated the early ones and I had forgotten how long they had been going for.
  8. If you are referring to my posts on YouTube I've been following Mike for several years now so that would hardly be surprising - I haven't kept count. In any case what relevance does that have?
  9. I'm sure he would To be honest Mike has a large community following him so rather than 'clickbait' I'd suggest that many of these videos are aimed at those of us who enjoy his content. I even watch product reviews that I have no interest in buying just to see his take on them! I'm sure I am not alone in that.
  10. No he doesn't. It was the title that made me think that not the content
  11. Yeah I laughed out loud when I saw that and wondered if Mike had been here ?
  12. Mike is a genuine guy - I've engaged with him a lot since beginning to watch his videos. In my opinion he has the most accessible and enjoyable Cakewalk tutorials I've seen ( there are lots of other excellent presenters too of course) and when he puts out videos like this he speaks from the heart. He is also very active in offering help on his Cakewalk related Facebook page.
  13. I clicked on the download for the PC VST3 version when the message came up. Suspect it's a false positive but will wait a while to see if anyone else gets it
  14. Got this warning from Malwarebytes - possibly a false positive but I'll hang back for the moment - shame as it sounds excellent! Website blocked due to malware Website Blocked: usc1.contabostorage.com Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked this page because it may contain malicious activity.
  15. I chose between Scan and Chillblast - I went for Chillblast in the end as a) my old PC built by them had been rock solid apart from needing a replacement CPU fan and b) they have a much better guarantee than Scan. They did overcharge me a bit for an additional 2Tb M2 drive that I specced but other than that prices were similar. 16. Very wise! I was going to wait but the old PC was on its last legs so went for it as my Win 11 laptop (nothing critical on there!) seemed ok! Then it all went pear shaped ? I'm not going to rush into any changes as hopefully MS will do an update that will sort before I get attacked by the Kernel Stack Monster!
  17. Try the WASAPI modes - they work for me on a PC with an internal soundcard - you may need to redirect your Master output in each project as I did after using ASIO4All for many years. Took me a while to figure out that that was why I wasn't getting any sound
  18. Hi all - in Win 11 has anyone experienced the 'Kernel Mode Hardware enforced Stack Protection is off' in Windows Security - Device Security - Core Isolation' warning. I've read around about this an it seems like it may be related to a new Windows security update that was intended to fix another security error (which seems to have gone away now) It gives an option to turn on and restart but I have read that some people have had problems with this as it affects drivers I'm tempted to take the risk and leave it alone hoping that another security update will sort it but does anyone have any experience of enabling it?
  19. If you are using an onboard soundchip then use WASAPI Exclusive or Shared. If you are using an audio interface find a proper ASIO driver for your device. ASIO4ALL has been problematic for some. Although I had no problems with it I swapped to WASAPI and that is fine - you may need to reroute your Master output though as I found when at first it didn't seem to work
  20. I thought Sine had been a bit quiet! Thanks!
