  1. Seeing the amount of 'not a deal' topics lately, I thought this was a sarcastic title and the topic would be about how slow their customers service would be. My bad, carry on...
  2. It seems to depend on some expensive items I think? I'm 19 products shy of the Volume 6 price (also 629 for me), which comes down to around €30 per plugin. That's a great deal on singular products, but a lot of money in 1 go.
  3. I got my activation code yesterday evening. Will install somewhere this weekend I think.
  4. Another Tyson gem and my personal favorite: "Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." The stage was set, but I have the feeling that since covid this holds an insane amount of truth.
  5. This reminds of a discussion I was never part of and have no use for remembering, but here we are. In the Beatmaker community, Fruityloops (FL Studio) is basically king. And a lot of (well known, multi platinum etc.) producers use a particular older version which "sounds better", harder, snappier, etc. Turned out that version had a limiter on the master under the hood. One of the issues I have with Ableton (besides the current erratic CPU behaviour), is that sample previews are much louder and I believe compressed. Oh the continuous dissapointment when I drag a great sounding kick in my project to have it flop away somewhere in the distance of my lowend. When all I have to do is turn it up a bit. The 'same' goes for old MPC's, which have 'that mojo', but a lot of that magic was that they worked on 12 bit. You can watch hours of beatmaking tutorials but rarely do you see someone say "just use a bitreducer on the drumbus" as if it's some kind of secret. Clip your kick to mush, bitreduce the transient back to life and filter the high-end (or use a good tape emulation)...done. It sounds like doodoo on its own, but in a mix it's perceived as much louder and harder than a clean kick.
  6. I did everything right: outfit, lighting, background stuff, cameras...and I forgot to change my flipflops for some shoes. Ah well, it is what it is ? And after 20 or so recorded jams, I FINALLY got the idea to pose for some thumbnail material. I'm slow to pick up on these things. Perhaps it helps in views, perhaps not. Anyway, enjoy!
  7. Why did you do this?! Please do not show how (d)awesome this plugin is, that will cost me money ?
  8. Don't sleep on Bassynth, I use it quit regularly.
  9. We are ever so slowly creeping up to version 1.0. That will unlock the golden Hans Zimmer.
  10. I'm surprised that something like Renoise hasn't gained much tracktion (ha!), being a modern tracker with VST support. For only $75. I'm sure all of us 80s-90s kids can still read hexidecimal.
  11. Jup, I've read that too and I'm fine with that. I'm recording livejams where my screen is mostly visible in the backgound, so it would be nice to have some visuals there instead of just my Ableton screen. And perhaps a screenrecording can be a nice touch to splash in now and then.
  12. I always wanted to try out VS, which is €99. So I have to spend €90 to get VS for 10% which is €9,90. In total that is €99,90. And that would get me VS and some other product I don't really want. Sorry, I wish them a very happy birthday, but they will have to celebrate without me.
  13. Update time, I'm an idiot. Blackbox was the 'secret project name' and it eventually became the Raummaschine. They were the same plugin. So I ordered the same plugin twice. Once for 59,90 and once for 79,90. Good news and good show of customer service: I contacted them and they immediately offered a refund. They even let me choose which one I wanted a refund for.
  14. I know I know, it is 'just' a Splice sample, but man did the vocal fit in with the jam. Moogs taking center stage, or so I thought. I was missing something, so I started playing with the Behringer Crave and some granular FX plugin. Voila, thát was the ticket to make it interesting. I really love how this one sounds, so I'll probably release it with Distrokid. Anyway, enjoy!
  15. Update, I received my PA codes in my email today.
  16. After the Crave which mimics the Moog Mother32 they finally released the highly anticipated (at least by me) Edge. This is their DFAM clone. I've been waiting for this one since they announced it (when I was 12 years old....no actually somwhere in 2021). So I ordered one right away from Thomann. Seems they have some conflicting information about the shipping date, because it showed 'in stock' when I ordered but now there is a wait time and it shows 1-2 weeks. I will check in with Thomann what is happening. In the meantime they announced the Spice which is the Moog Subharmonic clone and completes the three Moog icons. So I guess I'll be getting that too when it is shipping. They say it is in final beta testing, so maybe this year? Anyway, their Facebook says: "We have more models to come", so I'm very curious what those will be since they completed the Moog Sound Studio trio. Any thoughts?
  17. Well, it could be a complex problem. But it seems to me that Ableton has trouble with fullscreen mode of other applications. If I adjust the screensize to slightly less than fullscreen, the problem is gone. So it is not the application itself. And it would be EVERY application, which makes it no application.
  18. Does anyone have experience with Claro. That one has my interest.
  19. I think this meter is specifically targeted at those who use the 360 environment. Still not worth the $99 though.
  20. Another week, another jam. Nothing very special, some melodic techno. But I'm pleased with the result. Some live playing of the Microfreak. I messed up (again) and pressed 2 keys at once with my butterfingers, but luckily it was a repetitive melody so I could do some editing. A lot of focus on the synths, less so on the drums.
  21. Yes and no. I have an issue where the CPU usage shoots to 500% - 1000% (yes, it is possible) which grinds the audio to a halt when I use another application in fullscreen mode while. They could replicate it and filed a bug report, but no solution yet.
  22. You are absolutely right. I'm not concerend. I merely stated that didn't know what was going on and that I thought the situation was kind of funny. I'm sure they'll figure it out.
  23. With all that I spent so far, I'm not buying anything. If they can do these discounts, they probably can match it with BF.
  24. If you're a Windows user you can just uninstall in your Apps section. I just did that with the Symphony Essentials.
