New sunday, new livejam. I messed up the zoom on 1 camera, but now you can see my awesome koala buckethat better. Turned out a pretty decent jam. I'm experimenting with a bit of a change in thumbnails, let's see how Youtube likes that.

It's actually part of my workflow in Ableton. I play around and when I hear something that catches my ear I hit MIDI capture.

As an answer to the topicstarter, no finances are not really an issue for me per se. I consider myself very lucky to have an incredibly stable job, low pressure/stress and a very decent pay. Combine that with very low living costs (I got very lucky with the market to buy my house when I did) and I have a pretty sweet setup. So, all is well? No. Costs of living are rising, that's a concern. I make a conscious choie to avoid going to bars every weekend. I don't eat out / order in. I go out to lunch once a week. I walk around in clothes that are years old. Etc. But I'm cutting back on software purchases and focussing more on the hardware side. I have no interest anymore in the next vari-mu emulation. I'm not saying I won't ever buy another plugin (I just bought the Sonible gate because I only have the Kilohearts one). I do however would like to own a Prophet at some point. And I won't get there by buying 7 EQ's a month.

It can reduce / cut out the drunken screams of a friend who was falling from the couch while you tried to record a vocal. Myself being far from sober, left on the metronome which could be heard in the recording, so a frequency specific gate came in handy. So for me, fixing stuff which shouldn't need fixing or a creative tool. You can use a gate in sidechain and 'reverse' mode to trigger the volume of a synth channel everytime a drum hits.

Hello everyone! Something different this time. I hope you like it. It's hard to describe what it is. Is it techno? A bit. Is it electro, well yes but just a bit. Is it a bit cyberpunk-ish? Maybe? And I got a cool new hat for my birthday! Enjoy!

Almost forgot to purchase. Wanted to do it on friday because that's my 'software day'. That would have been bad. Got the Nylon and Hollowbody.

If by 3D you mean stereo wooshing and 'back-and-forthing', yes.

Doing a weekly jam leaves you wanting for inspiration sometimes. I had no idea what to do up until an hour before recording. So that results in no particular outstanding sounds or melodies, but an overall very chill vibe. Perfect summer jam. Decided to spice it up with the TD-3, that's always a good idea. Enjoy!

Soundiron Introducing Quadral 3 | Unlock Limitless Soundscapes
Nick Blanc replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Yes, use a Quadral and its Ouroboros to exude Cerebral awe in Kontakt. If I say this out loud and slip up, I get to command the army of the undead. This sounds like something a witch would say right before they wanted to burn her, but she flew away when they found out that saying "any last words" to a spellbinding witch is not a good idea. -
I'm waiting for NI to reply to my inquiry about Machine software. I purchased a Maschine Mikro second hand but the seller doesn't respond to my request to transfer the registration of the serial (he said he would do it, but after weeks and repeated reminders there is nothing but silence). I hope that if I register it or at least get some confirmation from NI that I indeed own the product now, I can get the Maschine basic software for free. If I have to buy it, so be it. But it's 34,50 at this moment. I rather not find out that I have to purchase it seperately while waiting for them to answer me and the price doubling.

Jup, I'm always looking for risers and impacts.

Wavesfactory Equalizer — The new plugin is here ?
Nick Blanc replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I like a lot of their stuff, but for me it is too vague what this is or does. Does it flatten my frequency respons? Does it enhance? Where? Does it yell at me when I try to close it? Does it attack Sonible's SmartEQ? -

Hold on! That bundle is on sale right now. For $99. But you can apply their july 4th coupon (JULY50) and get 50% off. That's 49,50 for the bundle. You can get the plugin seperately for the same price as the bundle. Edit: just purchased it and as a bonus you get around 7 GB of samples thrown in for free.

Still a bit bummed about not buying Mix Monolith when it was on sale with Plugin Alliance for a lot cheaper than this.

Reminds me of a user (me) error when using Sine Player. Got errors with newly purchased products. I got help from OT support and sigured out I kept updating the VST3 but was using the old VST2. ?

Life imitates art? Art imitates life? Well, I almost forgot my mother's birthday this week. Got all the presents (you know, flowers and chocolate), a card and everything. Thought to myself the day before that I should call early because I had a very busy day. But forgot to call on the day itself. Needless to say she wasn't happy. Enter the Matriach: she decided to scream in this jam. Good heavens what a sound. Sorry mom.

Haha they sure have some special Softube pricing going on there. I have Core, completing the bundle instead of buying the ONE product I'm missing in the bundle is: "Hey, how would you like to give us €4,63 for nothing?" Better yet: "Perhaps the offer of giving us €4,63 for nothing wasn't enticing enough, how about giving us €22,47 for nothing". To be fair, this is just mocking the "from / for" etc. structure. € 66.53 is a decent price I'm considering to pay. But I have to listen to some more demos first. It's not like I have a shortage of pianos.

For those wondering, what they do most of the time is do a 50% off for everything, apart from 1-2 products which have a higher discount. The 75% one is Finisher Neo.

Creative Sauce: WHY EVEN BOTHER MAKING MUSIC???
Nick Blanc replied to Old Joad's topic in The Coffee House
I make music because I'm the only one who can make exactly what I want to hear at that particular time. And when I bump into limitations like lack of knowledge or lack of ability which keep me from achieving that, I make sure I learn. I have a bit anxiety about performing live, but when I record a performance at home all is well.
