The music (instrumentation) sounds great to me. However, the lyrics are absoflippinlutely wonderful. I love them. It reminds me of listening to a talk radio guy (Bob Lassiter - RIP) that used to host a talk show in the Tampa Bay area before moving up to the Chicago market. Clever work on all aspect of this song.!!!!

An excellent constructed/composed piece! I love the "full orchestra" jazzy style of this one. Excellent work ------- again!!!
-
A very pleasant test of patterns indeed. Your new toy definitely have a very clear and defined tone!!!
-
What a pleasant melodic piece with some doggone poignant lyrics. Your vocals were perfect for delivering this message. Well done Bjorn.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the kind words. Hey Bjorn. Thanks for your "professional critique". I worked hard trying to get that gravelly, scratchy, old time guitar sound. I'm glad that it sounded OK. I also agree about the upcoming election. It is indeed different. Hi Douglas. Thank you for your very kind comments. I guess like most people who found the Blues to be a musical magnet ---- I may wander a bit to other genre but am always pulled back to the Blues. Hello Hugh. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment. I'm very glad that you liked it. I'm absolutely terrible for self promotion; therefore, my songs tend to exist only on this forum and SoundClick. Thanks again. Hey Daryl. Thanks very much for listening and commenting. You know ---- someday I might just have to join Facebook and see what is going on there ; > )

Was that a Blues harp in Sweet Little Ginny --- "crazy, man, crazy" and most cool. Beatnik poetry in I Was A Hillbilly? Definitely most cool.

I really like this song. It has a very pop and cheery sound with some very poignant lyrics (they match the times). The vocal and BGV's were very good as was that lead guitar that came in toward the end. Nice one indeed!!!

Absoflippinlutely great!!! Both the video and music create a neo-film noir touch and are spot on in complementing each other. If I am not being too nosy, may I ask from where did you get the video clips or did you do them yourself? Excellent piece of work !!!

Very well done indeed --- excellent production and vocals. It does indeed remind me of the early '80's.
-
Very well done Mark. I love that "scratchy" drum sound and the retro feel to this number. Excellent playing and good mix. I love the mix of electric and nylon on the guitars.

Hi Max. I'm very glad that you liked it. Thanks for taking the time to listen and for your comments.

Here, is a song which is intended to encourage us all to get out and exercise our rights and duties as citizens of this democracy. Get on out and vote y'all. This one is primitive, striped down, and raw. It took me ages to get the sound of the lead guitar just right (I almost got it like I wanted). I was going for that gravelly. over driven sound of the early electric guitar sound of jump Blues and early electric Blues. It is raw and basic but I hope you enjoy and that it might induce a consideration to participate in our democracy. I also hope that it gets you toes to tapping. As always comment, suggestions, and crit.'s will be very much appreciated. Thanks DEMOCRACY BLUES https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481

I caught my breath and did some more virtual running to catch up again. It was definitely worth the virtual effort. You definitely experimental but each one of your songs has a different flavour (it is like being in an ice cream shop). Some are kind of funky, others punky, etc. but all are Jesse! Keep 'em coming!!!

Cool song Douglas. Absoflippinlutely, love the sound of that Les Paul as well as the some great playing. I agree with some of the comments that some harmonies or BGV's might add to it but it sounds good the way it is!! Nice one indeed!!!
-
What's not to like. I echo the comments above ---- for a demo this raises the bar very high. I would say it is definitely halloween ready for play. Excellent work by all. Excellent vocals and those are indeed some tasty guitar sounds.

You definitely captured that genre of pop. Nothing to add to the above comments. It all sound good to me. Nice one!!!

Hi Wookie. Well, as the man once said, "it's in me and it's gotta come out" (an adapted paraphrase actually ?). I am very glad that you liked it and it brought a bit of motion to your furry paws. Thanks for the kind comments. Hello Hidden Symmetry. Thank you very much for listening and for the kind comments. I very glad that you liked it!! Hi Treesha. Thanks very much for taking the time to comment. You are not the first to make the comment that I should turn up the vocals and I can't disagree. I'll keep at it until some day I get it right. I look forward to hearing your "quarantine" song!! Hi Lynn. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I have taken your advise and requested my ballot. I will be personally dropping it off to our Supervisor of Elections office. BTW, I am getting ready to post a song dealing with your voting suggestion (inspired again by a suggestion on the forum -- thanks).

Hi Bapu. Thank you very much. I very much appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment!!

I really like this song Paul. It is a beautiful love song with a wonderful melodic lilt. The story is great and the lyrics are perfect for the story. Your vocals are excellent on this number and I like that slight echo put on it. Nice work!!!

Hi Douglas. Thanks very much. I appreciate the kind words. BTW, I just posted a comment on your recent post (Lucky Me). What a treat, I really enjoyed it! Hi tom. "Love is never having to say your sorry ..." ----- It must be my Canadian upbringing, we used to use that word a lot way back then. ? "More great stuff, love the social commentary>" --- Just some ruminating about things. Thanks, for the encouragement. "We are entitled to our opinions, just not our own set of facts ..." ---- Amen to that my friend.!! Thanks again! Hi David. I appreciate the kind words. I also just commented on your recent post. Very creative and well done work!! Hey Bjorn. Thanks much. I very much appreciate your taking the time to listen and your comments. And yes indeed, one would think reality and truth would be the same thing. Hello Jesse. I have done testified! Now can I get a witness??? I'm running hard to keep up with your one a day songs. Luv-it! Hey Nigel. Thank you very much. Coming from a pro like you - your comments mean a lot. "... it's best not to watch too much news -..." I certainly can't disagree with that but being ever so slightly OCD, I try and get news from multiple disparate sources. Unfortunately, that often means system overload! ?

Wow, I loved this one! That rhythmic riff sets it all off for me. The lyrics were clever and the guitar work was perfect. I even liked the drums. Nice one!
-
I guess I got here too late for the video but the new demo was beautiful. That f-horn perfectly accentuated the piece. Well done indeed!!

Stripped down, raucous, and raw, is what normally attracts me in music. However, I really liked this piece of music. A lot of twists and turns, each instrument had an opportunity to present itself, and the touch of some dissonance kept my attention throughout. I always enjoy what you post and this is no exception.

Absolute perfection again Nigel. Beautiful song, great performance and video that complements all of it. I share your apparent distrust of politicians. However, as frustrated as I am, I am staying at home following the advise of experts in the fields of public health, medicine, microbiology, pandemic research, etc. They have the academic training and experiential expertise to know what is best. In general politicians don't. I would not go to my mechanic if I were not feeling well. On the other hand, I would not take my car to my physician if I were having car trouble. Each is the expert in their field. Science is a discipline that demands to be questioned. I find that trait rather refreshing. I always enjoy your posts Nigel. Keep "em coming!

Great story telling and country sound!
