The pie was delicious, thank you! This song was also a treat. Loved that guitar panned right and I agree with the sentiment of the song! It doesn't really sound like them but for some reason this song reminds me a wee bit of the Gang of 4 (the band). Most COOL!

What an interesting piece. Love the funky feel to this and the ending. There are a lot of change ups, different, instrumentation --- actually there is a lot going on ----- and it all works!!! It is most definitely COOL!

I have often wondered how they did this type of singing. This is one of the most different song that i have heard and one of the most interesting. It is weird but you have compiled it all in to a piece that is actually quite beautiful ! Excellent work pal!!

This is the first time (and probably the last) that I have submitted a cover song. A long time in a place far away, I was listening to our local community radio station when I heard this absoflippinlutely great rendition of the Everly Brothers arrangement of the Richard Penniman (Little Richard) song Lucille. For any "Youngbloods" reading this, that are not familiar with this song by these artist, I recommend that you go on YouTube and bend an ear to both the Everly and Little Richard recordings. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the band but I quickly plugged in my guitar are recorded a couple of tracks of what I remembered. A while ago I ran across this this recording and finished it up. As always I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, crit's, etc. but as this is my first time (for a cover) please be gentle. Thanks. LUCILLE ( A COVER) https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481

Definitely a cool piece. It has a very cinematic sound to it and would complement the video of modern western or modern film noir movie. The change-up near the middle --- ya cool!
-
Another enjoyable piece Jack. I must agree with Nigel --- the lyrics are worth bringing the vocal up. The vocals and instrumentation really work well!
-
Excellent piece Bjorn! The science of the very large (Relativity) to the science of the incredibly small (Quantum physics) is absoflippinlutely mind boggling and this piece adds an visual and aural perspective. Boy -- you are getting good at this stuff!!
-
TD = Touch Down indeed! You earned the points on this one and I don't even follow football (American). Another masterful piece!
-
Excellent work!!! Video, music (arrangement, instrumentation, vocals, mix, etc.) are top notch!
-
Great work! I like this better than the original! I think that the vocals are great as is the key. They put your signature on this cover.

For noodling around that is some good guitar playing. You have gotten great sounds from the TH3 --- clear, resonate and great tone. Very nice indeed!!

Hi Bjorn, Thanks very much for the kind words and encouragement. They are very much appreciated! Hey Jesse. Thanks very much pal -- I was going for some grit! I have also used (not on this song) an an old VST plugin which has been upgraded to X64. It is the California Sun which a take on the old mid 1950's Fenders and it has a nice raw sound. Hi Hidden Symmetry. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. I'm glad that you liked it!

Definitely cool visuals and fun song that keeps one listening. Well done!

The Ethereal Collective Mind Project #5 Going to the Market Today
freddy j replied to Jesse Screed's topic in Songs
Just listened to #3 Jesse. Love it! We don't get much snow in central and south Florida (not impossible though). However, you provide some good advise to be followed for hurricanes. PACK UP AND GO! -
What a nice song. Being old enough to remember, this song has a bit of that late 1960's - early 1970's feel to it. Your vocals are great and I love that bass! Cool song -- it had me smiling!!
-
I'm sorry to hear about your DYI incident and hope that you are on the mend! What a nice song! Your lyrics, instrumentation, and vocals are great! There are a few "idiosyncrasies" as mentioned above but given your talent I am sure you could quickly address them. Well done!!
-
Excellent song, performance, video, production, etc!!! I rather liked the ending. Y'all are indeed standard setters! The only standards that you could exceed are your own. Did I mention that this was really excellent? Good luck on the new album!!

The mix sounds good and you have presented some very good guitar playing. In fact all the instrumentation sounds great!!

Fourteen Years (original song and animation)
freddy j replied to Dream Art Scientists's topic in Songs
Love it! Since I have been listening to Latin American Afrobeat 5minutes and 17. this seems like a short song. That riff that plays panned right reminds me a bit of one similar in Devo's cover of Satisfaction. Lyrics and vocal really add to the music (or is it the other way around?). No matter --- I really enjoyed the listen. Well done! -
Not being a synth or MIDI guy, I didn't understand your description above. However, no matter! I loved the sounds and the mix sound very good! Nice!!!

Stop Looking Crosseyed The Ethereal Collective Mind Project
freddy j replied to Jesse Screed's topic in Songs
Hey Jeese. I listened to this one and Rice On The Church Steps. Loved them both!!! With Crosseyed I wasn't sure if this was about CoVid isolation, agoraphobia, or a vision problem -- or --- maybe --- something else. No matter, cool is cool and both songs were cool!!! -
Hi Steve. Some day I'll come out of "back in the alley" and come into the sunshine of the present. However, at least for now, I'm having too much fun in the alley. I have come to really like the Fender collection and in particular the Fender 1957 Deluxe. Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment! Hi Rik. Thanks very much for listening and taking the time to comment. I have always found, that even though the subject of a Blues song can be sad, I always feel better after listening. I believe that B B King always promoted the same idea. Thanks again!!

First of all my apologies for be tardy with my responses. I have been dealing with contractors in having some repairs done to my house. These repairs were interrupted by Hurricane Ian. This caused a bit more of a delay but now have been completed (yea!!) Hi Dream Arts Scientists: Thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment. Very much appreciated!! Hey John B. Thanks very much for your kind words. Although I was too young to understand it or really appreciate this kind of music, it is the music that I loved it at a very early age. I guess it was all that rhythm that grabbed me. There are a few pockets in the USA and particularly in the UK and Europe that appreciate this fossil music. YouTube has some great videos that shows relatively recent events where the oldsters and kids are digging the sounds. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. Hi Nigel. Thanks very much and I am glad that you liked this number. BTW, I very much liked your recent post with the new sound! Hey Old Joad. I only wish I had access to their studio and some of the talent that played there. It would be a great learning experience! Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment!! Hey tom! Thanks very much for your kind words and for your encouragement!!! You are right! The frogman must be appreciated. Here is a link to Mr. Henry's song that was the inspiration for this song. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. Thanks for the very kind words and encouragement. I'm looking forward to some new posts by you. Hi Lynn. Thanks for listening my friend. You have captured that "Americana" style of song. Over all I think that you have a very good song. Perhaps a few tweaks mentioned above and it will be radio! I enjoyed it --- nice one!!
