As an old school analog guy I struggle with synths, MIDI, etc. However, I do listen in wonderment to the creative pieces that you post. Great composition pal!
-
What a treat! A song with a bit of a twist! Your vocals perfectly deliver some interesting lyrics. The music was perfect in delivering the "feel" of the song. I love the horns and that bass sounds great. The background comment add even more to the song. The day might have been "Pretty Good" but the song was great. In fact I might say that it was more than "Adequate"!

Great song. It has all the elements of a great uptempo pop song. I can't remember the original post but this one sounds great --- lyrics, instrumentation (ya -- the drums sound OK to my chronologically challenged ears, and your vocals are very good indeed! Well done!!!

Doggonit Jesse -- this is your best yet. This is COOL - all in caps. I enjoyed the speaking "in tongues". I know I have mentioned this before --- and ---- your posts definitely have the "Jesse style and signature ------ but ------ there is perhaps a wee bit of Gang of Four in them. Keep them coming pal!

Ya, this covers the Pink Panther feel . Your playing is excellent as usual and the mix is very well done. I agree with comments above --- the brushes on the drums sound very good!

My apologies for being tardy in replying. Sometimes life interferes with what you rather be doing. Hi John B. I did use Session Horns but not Session Horns Pro, and I used DSK Saxophones for the tenor sac.. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind comments. Hey tom. I'm very glad that you liked it . As always, I thank you for your encouragement! Hi Makke. Thanks very much for listening and the kind words. I enjoyed your recent post very much. Hi Jack. Thanks much for the tip! I appreciate your taking the time to listen and make comments. Hey Bjorn. Ever since I was a wee rug rat, and was able to dial in radio stations, I have been crazy for the Blues. I appreciate your very kind words.

Back to the Blues! I had to get back to the music that I love. So -- I went back in the alley and found a file that I was working on and finished it. It is the real Blues. This time genre identification was not hard with this song. It tells a little story of a guy who thinks he can live off of his woman without contributing anything. It didn't work! As always I will appreciate any comments, suggestions, crit.'s, etc. Thanks! MISOGYNIST BLUES https://www.soundclick.com/artist/default.cfm?bandid=963481

How do you do it!? Another one in a long line of excellent productions. The BGV's are excellent! -
Another interesting and good post in what is turning out to be a bunch of cool postings. I too thought the break mentioned above was great. Well done Jack C!

This is a wonderful piece. Your playing is very good and the sound of that Telecaster is as clear as can be. Great mix.
-
Oops, I almost missed this one. Sounds great! I could imagine sitting on the side of the track. Excellent guitar playing!
-
What a fun and very interesting piece. The tempo changes are absoflipinlutely great as is the mix. The whole production is very tight without sounding over produced. Every time that I hear one of your songs I wish that I could cure my contentious relationship with synths, and things MIDI and make use of them more effectively. BTW, the vocals are sounding good!

I don't know what this sounded like on the old versions of Cakewalk but this iteration sounds great. Great mix, performances, instrumentation, etc.!
-
Excellent piece of work -- great performances by all (particularly your wife), nice arrangement, good instrumentation, and great mix. What is not to like?
-
Very nice piece of work indeed. I love that rhythmic bass. Oh ya, love that harmonica also!
-
Wow!!!!! This is really excellent. I love the way that you have been reaching out and trying different techniques. Your vocals really stand out and and carry the excellent lyrics very well. The various instrumentation and Fx give this a very tripy feel. This is an excellent collaboration and the mix sounds great to me. Great work!!
-
Darn --- I was looking forward to some Jesse stuff. ?

By the title "Baby Blue" I was expecting something along the lines of Gene Vincent. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this song. You have indeed presented a very emotional song that puts the listener on that roller coaster ride that you described. Your vocals also very effectively carry those emotions. Well done!!!!!
-
Great number!!! I love instrumentals. The sax was indeed wonderful. The mix and timing on all instruments was excellent. Excellent!!
-
I did not grow in the UK but I can appreciate the sentiment and the well constructed, performed, and mixed song. I agree with the comments above concerning the vocals -- well done indeed!

Hi Old Joad. Thanks for listening and commenting -- very much appreciated!

Hi Jack C. Thanks for listening and the kind words. BTW I enjoyed your most recent post. Hey tom. As always, I very much appreciate your insight and comments. After all these years of marriage I still like to hear her say it. Thanks again my friend! Hi Lynn. Thanks very much for the encouragement pal! When it comes to matters MIDI/synth it still is a strained relationship. However, with an implied handshake, the relationship is somewhat improving --lol.) Thanks again. Hey Nigel. I am very glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks very much for taking the time to comment. Hi Noynekker. An overture ---- I didn't know that I was capable of such a thing ?! Thanks very much for your kind words and comments. They are very much appreciated!

That is a great story about your reunion. This is a great track -- great performances by all. To these old ears the mix does not sound "over produced" and you have kept that live performance feel to this song. Well done indeed!!
-
Another in a line of creative works that you have put out. Hmmmm, I might be able to relate as I am somewhat chronologically challenged (read old). I agree the vox effects muffle the understanding of the clever lyrics. I very much enjoyed listening!!

I love everything about this song --- arrangement, instrumentation, performance, video etc. To me the 3 best points were 1) the lyrics which delivered a great message; 2) the vocal performance - which definitely expressed the message of the lyrics; 3) the incredible pictures which drove home the the song. I certainly am in agreement -- - - expletive deleted (just to be polite) the haters! Excellent piece of work pal!!
