Can some kind soul explain to me what the Master track is for in AD2 please? I feel I ought to be able to work it out with a name like that but some of my usages of AD2 seem to have one and some don't. Obviously down to the options I chose at the time but I couldn't tell you which. There's no substitute for incompetence. ?

Amusing without being cheesy, love it. Nothing wrong with your vocals as far as I'm concerned.
-
Love it. Great production, playing, writing and singing. I hear a bit of Lou Reed and Tom Petty coming through.

Thanks for those kind words David, the idea of having a fan at all is novel ? I think the clarity might be down to the simplicity of the track. Double tracked acoustic guitar ("scratchy" in places which is down to my lousy muting technique) with no effects at all, plus my vocals have no reverb or echo (a daring move because I've never considered my voice to be good enough for the "Jeff Lynne" treatment), just compression. Add a dash of piano with a drum framework and that's it. I do like the result in this case, I had the Anthology version of the Beatles' "I'm Only Sleeping" in mind.

Hi all, it's been a while so ... I'm trying to get all "jazz quartet" on this tongue in cheek look at the classic "baby don't go" scenario. A real sax would be nice though ? https://www.bandlab.com/wilbyforce/nottheonlyone-d0b5d8e6?revId=6e1089c7-4f3d-eb11-9fb4-501ac5b31de6

Show the Fx module in the Main Window
Keith Wilby replied to Keith Wilby's topic in Instruments & Effects
The B key did it, many thanks indeed. Now I know it's call the "browser" -
Hi all, this is so infuriating! I can't for the life of me work out how to show the Fx rack/module/whatever it's called on the right hand side of the main window. Someone help please! ? Thanks ?

Sorry guys, is this any better? https://www.bandlab.com/wilbyforce/nightmission01-3384fa0c?revId=15a20995-47e5-ea11-af8c-501ac51fe1a1

Thanks for the responses guys. My apologies, this isn't meant to be a completed master, just a completed song/mix. mp3 just seemed a convenient way of sharing.
-
I can't decide whether to call this Night or Flight Mission. It was originally "night" before I added the "out in the far blue yonder" line, which of course wouldn't be there at night ? Either way, I think it's pretty much completed now, other than that one word. Comments welcomed as always. Enjoy ? NightMission01.mp3

Agreed David. Fixing it in the remix. Thanks for your comments.

Just the one on-board fuse in this VS100, a 1A slow-blow. Replaced it but now the amp has a very unhealthy sounding mains hum the moment you power it on (before the valve (tube) warms up) so it's now on its way to the Marshall factory in Bletchley to have it fettled properly by those who know best.

Thanks for all the comments guys, already tinkering with the mix based on your suggestions

Really enjoyed this and I am envious of anyone who can deliver a dry vocal (ie reverb dry) without it sounding crap (like mine does ? ).
-
Nice vocals, well nice everything really but I particularly liked the vocal, reminded me a bit of Scott Walker.

This kind of music isn't my cup of tea so I'm not qualified to comment on that, but I did notice some timing issue especially at the beginning where the guitars were lagging the drums ... or is it supposed to be like that?
-
Sounds odd in a very positive way, I love odd. Very nice indeed.

I wish I knew how to embed a Bandlab track on here ? Anyway, here's "Flight Mission", a tongue-in-cheek ride in a fighter jet. I think it's almost there ... but the on-board fuse in my amp blew before I'd finished. Hope you enjoy it so far. https://www.bandlab.com/wilbyforce/flightmission05-73cb34c9?revId=6c9a055f-39cf-ea11-8b03-501ac51fd70d

"Using the Mason & Hamlin Model A piano freely available at the pianobook community." Sorry to hijack the thread but how do you install instruments from that site please?

Control a MIDI parameter in the Piano Roll window
Keith Wilby replied to Keith Wilby's topic in Instruments & Effects
Brilliant, thank you so much. -
Hi, I'm using Realivox Blue via the "Kontakt" plug-in and I was wondering if there is a way to control a MIDI parameter in the Piano Roll window. I'm sure there is but I haven't been able to work out how. For example I can add a parameter like "expression" but I can't work out how to control it. Many thanks.

As Sod's Law would have it, I discovered how to do it shortly after posting, and I don't see a "delete post" option ?
