  1. Yes, it's not normal at all to see changes in volume after closing and reopening the project. May something else happened before exiting?
  2. I guess is a matter of what works best for you and the particular project you are in? For me, buses are very handy and use a lot of them, often in a cascade of buses of instruments going to buses of submixes of family of instruments (i.e String Sections, Mallets, Drums, etc), going to pre-master bus and then to the Master Bus... you name it. The way you can manage them in the console view is very practical, and you always can hide or show what you need, color code them, etc. Aux tracks for me are just an additional tool for specific tasks or needs. For example, I found them very useful (and necessary), for configuring remote recording plugins, that needs aux tracks to work.
  3. You could check your signal flow to see how the audio is going from one module to the next. There are so many ways to route the audio inside CW...! There are sends, aux tracks, etc- Is worth investing a little time understanding the signal flow inside CW.
  4. Not exactly: if you lower the bus fader, the level of what you hear decreases, but the source tracks are not affected. If you want to lower the volume of a bunch of tracks, there are several ways. Two of them: 1. Select all the tracks you want, hit Ctrl and drag one of the levels down. All faders will go down. 2. Group the tracks: select the tracks, right click on one of them, select group, choose a color. All tracks will be locked on this parameter together.
  5. May be this is what you are searching for: (from Help): "Use Multiprocessing Engine. This option is grayed out unless you have a multiprocessor computer. If you have a multiprocessor computer, check this option if you want Cakewalk to use both processors at all times. If you do not check this option, Cakewalk still uses the second processor for some tasks." More info here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=0x22B19
  6. Here is something weird that is happening (may be related to tha last build, not sure): I open a project (CWP), with this name [Reputacion Cancion Cierre V2 en G Ok10], and when loading, CW asks for this OTHER project [Reputacion Cancion Cierre V2 en G Ok7], which is an older version saved with audio in another location...! ... any ideas? - it's so weird -
  7. Also, you can double click the Tab selector: it expands the module to full size (works with every Tab you have open, PR, etc). See pic -
  8. Right. But tdehan is not trying to resize a window, but to lock the windows task bar and the titlle bar as well, as explained in the link provided by scook. It's very helpful, as you can reach the bottom of the screen commands and not accidentally end up clicking a windows task bar icon, for example. Workspaces doesn't retain the full view status: you have to manually engage it each time you open CW. --- Full Screen mode Full Screen mode allows the Cakewalk interface to fill the entire screen. When in Full Screen mode, Cakewalk’s title bar and the Windows task bar are hidden from view. To enable/disable Full Screen mode, do one of the following: Select Windows > Full Screen. Press F11. Click the Full Screen button in the top right corner. Figure 546. Full Screen toggle.
  9. To lock CW in Full Screen is easy: click on the arrows top right. See image. But it's not engaged automatically when you open the program, and perhaps that's what tdehan wants to do?
  10. Not sure if this is particular to this build: When navigating between arranger sections, going backwards (Shift+TAB) doesn't get you to the previous arranger section, but to the very beginning of the project. When markers are present, this Shift+Tab gets you to the previous marker.
  11. Good question... never thought of that. To my knowledge, there is no way to do that automatically. You have to do it manually. Perhaps there is a way thou!
  12. Also, remember that you have several options for the stretch algorithms, found in the Preferences Section, that allows you to match your needs in the better possible way. See image.
  13. If properly installed and recognized by the plugin manager, it should appear like this in the plugin manager (see pic 1) Also, you can try this: go to Insert/Soft Synth/Plugin Layouts/Sort by Manufacturer - It should display your soft synths accordingly, so look under Ik Multimedia folder. (see pic 2) Hope it helps -
  14. Yes, it is available only after you choose the mp3 format, not before that.
  15. For me the old way was very simple: I agree that with just two or three clicks you were done... fast and simple. But limited, when you are working with a increased number of tasks related to a bigger project (exporting stems, alternative mixes, adding information to each file, batch exporting several tracks with different specifications, etc.) So, after investing a couple of hours in the learning process of the new features, I managed to configure my workflow in a way that is incredible fast, as I don't have to bother even naming the exported files. It takes the names from wathever source you want, and that's it. And if you need simple export functions, just create a preset that meets all of your requirements, and use that preset all the time. Couldn't be simpler then. But it takes time to learn and customize to your needs the export features, after you properly understand the logic of the system. Would I get back to the old way? no.
  16. There is no way to do what you want. However, this could work to a certain extent: Create a shortcut for full view for video size. Open video window Hit spacebar to play video+audio Click on the video window Apply the shortcut (you'll get the full screen video running) It will not be what you need, I know, but it's closer. --- or invert the thought process: embed the audio in your video using a video editor, or even CW export video features - , and use a video player with that capability instead?
  17. If you want to delete the whole blank space for all the tracks in your project, use the Ripple Edit command (see pic, right up corner). Engage it and when you press delete, EVERYTHING in the selected area is gone. Remember to disengage it later!
  18. "If so, what happens if you set the height for each track the way you want and then choose "Lock Height" for each track?" - Yes, each track is saved with the specified height. Not sure what happens if saving the workspace retains the locked heights, not tried it.
  19. There is a way, actually: right click on the selected track, and mark "Lock Height". The horizontal size is locked now. But you have to this in a track by track basis, doesn't work on multiple selction. See pic.
