I noticed that some of the courses are streaming for free on certain dates e.g. https://www.creativelive.com/class/flawless-vocals-recording-editing-mixing-kris-crummett/lessons/freepreview-what-makes-a-flawless-vocal https://www.creativelive.com/class/studio-pass-joey-sturgis https://www.creativelive.com/class/eq-master-class-graham-cochrane https://www.creativelive.com/class/studio-pass-tommy-rogers-jamie-king https://www.creativelive.com/class/studio-pass-periphery-with-adam-nolly-getgood-matt-halpern https://www.creativelive.com/class/studio-pass-w-steve-evetts-ben-weinman https://www.creativelive.com/class/studio-pass-sylvia-massy May be of use to some. You click on RSVP to book it and it also lets you add it to your Google (or other) calendar. There may be others.

Would be great to see what EzBass has to offer. Also interested in any new Fender guitars and the Korg Wavestate.

Nice thanks Larry. Might go for the Toontrack one. Still deciding.

Just had an email stating that there's 48 hours left on the ReValver bundles sale.

Getting rid of some software, can I do full account sales for these:

I have found these two KVR threads useful for finding out about license transfer policies... https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=354654 https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=520503 Not sure whether they cover full account transfers but might be worth a look. -
Useful, thanks Larry. For Windows users the location (on my system at least) to copy the file to is ... C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 4\Scripts

Positive Grid adds Spin to Win to their New Year Sale

Already have FX2 Elite which is pretty great but at last a decent price to upgrade from Amp Pro 2 to Elite. Also got 20% on the wheel. Can't decide on any of the expansions though. Celestion Classic Pack seems to come with Amp Elite but I am also tempted by the Celestion Modern Vintage Pack. Cheers Larry. -
Thanks Matthew. I must admit I am loving the Triton demo. Such a wealth of fantastic sounds and some of the combis are gorgeous! I guess some of the sounds are a bit dated now but that's part of the charm.

This must take the trophy for most confusing upgrade method! I would really like the Triton but I have none of the other Korg stuff (at least I only have M1 and ARP Odyssey on IOS). Is there a cheap way to get everything or just Triton starting from nothing on Windows? Maybe buy the M1 first or does the special Triton only allow upgrade from M1LE? Thanks (confused of Yorkshire)

Thanks Larry. They also have quite a lot of freebies including sample packs, MIDI files, Sound FX, Wavetables, Serum and Massive presets. Don't know if they are any good but may be worth checking for free (you have to provide your email to get the freebies btw)... https://www.ghosthack.de/free_sample_packs/

With their libraries I always use the same method which has worked for me so far. They usually have a number of RARs part1, part2 etc plus a similar named RAR with a multi digit number at the end. If you open each of these RARs (double click each one) you can see that they have been saved with a root folder called, in this case, "8DIO Songwriting Guitar v2". So to unzip them I select them all, right click and select the Unzip Here option. This creates a single folder called 8DIO Songwriting Guitar v2 with all of the necessary subfolders/content within it... 8DIO Songwriting Guitar v2 --- \Documentation --- \Impulses --- \Instruments --- \Samples The instruments to load in Kontakt are within the Intsruments folder. I then just move the 8DIO Songwriting Guitar v2 folder to my Kontakt Instruments folder and backup the rars to my backups drive. This won't work unless the rars are saved with the same root folder so it's worth checking first.

I must admit I skipped 2019.11 after seeing some of the initial problems and 2019.09 had been working so well (and better than any previous version for me). I updated to 2019.12.26 yesterday though via Bandlab Assistant and it seems to work fine. I tried a few of my bigger projects and all OK so far ? The only installation anomaly was with Bandlab Assistant which decided to log me out half way through the Cakewalk update download. I logged back in and it continued from where it left off and installed the new version of Cakewalk okay.
-
Have to admit that I haven't really used Bandlab but maybe I will in future (@zinct ). I have just followed you and listening to I Hear You Knocking (another great cover btw).

Thanks simon. I was looking for a Neon Buzz for an old track I am revisiting at the moment! The others look pretty useful too ?

Happy New Year piotr, Larry and all! Looking forward to many great deals in 2020! ?

Enjoying Reason intro and the plugin works as advertised in CbB. Also picked up a few addons in their sale which is still on for a few hours. https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/deals/

Wow! What a great voice. To take on a song like that singing live with just piano accompaniment takes guts and talent which she appears to have in abundance. Well done.
-
Hey, I just hope that I can compose things half as well as you when I am your age! Wishing you peace for the New Year.
-
Excellent cover! The vocals are particularly lush with excellent harmonies.
-
Apologies, it wasn't meant as a criticism for what is an excellent piece. Just thought you might have missed it. Well done anyway and I hope your health improves in the New Year.
-
That is weird! I just tried it with Silk and it worked fine adding a kind of shimmering sound with the Infinity patch. Here's a short piece with the first 8 bars using the Silk patch Fat and Vivid (Vivid Picking) with Fin Micro disabled and the second 8 bars with Fin Micro set to 50% mix. Silk Fin.mp3

Nice composition Larry. Must have taken quite a bit of work. Only thing I noticed listening on headphones is a short burst of "noise" at around 37 seconds only in the left channel.
-
I can only echo the comments of others - great tone and playing on that oh so smooth sounding Guild. The horns do sound fantastic and what a combination with your guitar. A top notch way to end the year. Well done!

Nice composition Wookie. I like how it developed over time and those classic Korg sounds fit perfectly. It had a positive vibe which is a good way to start the new year!
