Making a nice layered sound with Polymode...
-
That's interesting Aidan as I have (at last!) been trying out Loopcloud based on your recommendation. I was expecting something like ADSR Sample Manager which I have been using up until now but Loopcloud comes with other plugins for DAW integration which look interesting. I still need to use it more to see whether it's going to replace ADSR SM but so far so good. I'm also tempted by one of their subs. Regarding storage I am also still in the process of migrating to my new PC and that one has an M.2 NVME boot drive. On my old PC the Cakewalk projects are stored on the other data SATA SSD. Regarding the other M.2 NVME I have been using it for storage of samples, not just for instrument samples but also general the sample content. I am finding it a pain to manage that content though to ensure that any which doesn't get used is always the first to be offloaded (or deleted). I also find so many sample libraries come with filler that I won't use (e.g. stems) so they have to be vetted and slimmed down before they get onto my drives! I am also still deciding which drives to move to the new PC. Ideally I would like to have very few mechanical drives inside it. I think it's best to keep somewhere around 25% free, at least that what I try to do.

From September 1st to September 15th you can test drive the JUNO-106, JUPITER-8, JX-3P, and SH-2 as well as all of the Brothertiger patch collections for free with a Roland Account. The Jupiter 8 does sound very nice indeed. Also some more Zenology patches: - Selected IDM Works - Movement Pack

Good price Musical. I never thought of Everyplugin for Cherry Audio stuff. I guess it makes sense to buy the Year 2 Collection from them if you don't have any existing modules from it as there is no discount to calculate. Gotta agree that the content is excellent value and very handy to have all those varieties of synth available within VM.

Same here Grem ? I also changed my password there as soon as I could after the site went down just in case (something I do quite often nowadays).

I wondered whether the issue was related to the recent JRR problems. In any case after a Kaspersky update this morning it is no longer blocking access to the JRR website on my PC.

That's great value scook! I also went for the Year Two Collection as I didn't own any of it and I'm loving it so far. Plenty of new goodies to play with. There was also an update to 2.0.30 which I'm sure wasn't there yesterday (maybe I missed it).

Well that came a bit out of left field! I have to say that it's got a lot of presets for a freebie and some very interesting sounds. They even give you some different UI skins (I like Twin Turbo). I initially thought it sounded a bit "flat" but then realised that there are no effects included. After putting some reverb and delay on it the sounds are transformed. I also wondered what a polyphonic version would sound like so fired up Unify to make a polyphonic version which worked really nicely on some patches. Thanks a lot Newfangled Audio and Eventide! ?

Now that's what I call efficient coding!

Yes indeed! I predict it's going to be an expensive few months ahead ? Come to think of it that's the same as last year and the year before that and...

Strange; I was working with 6.4.0 for a few hours on a Kontakt library in Unify without any issues. This morning I load up Kontakt standalone and get the BETA message. Looking forward to the fix!

Thanks Larry! It also works fine on my phone (which has Kaspersky mobile installed). Go figure To anyone else who gets this: I contacted Kaspersky support who were able to reproduce it and are investigating but suspect a false positive.
-
Thanks Larry. Kaspersky has been blocking JRR since yesterday - it says "Threat of Data Loss". Anyone know why and if this is a real threat or just a Kaspersky oddity?

Makes you wonder what level of testing they are doing before releasing updates.

Yes I'm also looking at a few things on the Cherry website --> https://store.cherryaudio.com/ The advantage there is that if you login you can get further reductions on the sale price based on what you already own. For example, if you already own some parts of a bundle then the sale price of the bundle is further reduced (see the KVR link below for some more examples of how they calculate this). I'm also looking at the Polymode, or maybe get the Year Two Collection (which includes Polymode) and the PSP Ultimate Modular Collection which is a third of its normal price! There's some more discussion about this on the KVR Forum --> https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=498351&start=1755

Maybe try a VPN? I'm in the UK and the site seems to work for me without a VPN but I haven't ordered anything from them yet. I created an account with them a few weeks ago in preparation for a repeat on a previous 50% off VPS Avenger and expansion packs deal.

Oh boy the demo sounds fantastic. Now I see what all the fuss is about with Neural DSP stuff. Trying to hold out though for a splurge on Omnisphere (they never have sales but I'm happy for them to make an exception this year ).

Black Friday is just around the corner .. I'll wait. ...unless I don't! ?

Hey Mesh, there's a demo for each product on the individual effect webpages. I'm probably going to demo them first as I probably don't really need them (yeah, right, heard that before ?)... https://www.arturia.com/products/software-effects/modulations-bundle/chorusdimension-d https://www.arturia.com/products/software-effects/modulations-bundle/phaserbi-tron https://www.arturia.com/products/software-effects/modulations-bundle/flangerbl-20

Same link as in my post.

Just been trying that and yes it does seem to work alongside it with Scaler 2 on chord duties and MS creating the melodies.

Good point Mesh. I think they were up to 5 free add-on packs when I last looked.
